Hi all
First up a big thank you to all who either played or attended our first LOSE IT OR LOSE IT alldayer. All the acts played belters of sets, and we mean that, it's been a while since we saw a day of such quality (especially with 5 days notice for the show!). Big thanks go out also to RSJ and ERRANDER who travelled a long way to be involved.

This Sunday sees the second alldayer organised by MERCURY RISING PROMOTIONS, this time with a blues/alternative theme, theres something on this one for almost everyone! At present confirmed for the day are......

Hi all

Things are tough, we're not gone yet but things aint rosy for sure! So the lovely people at Mercury Rising Promotions have come out of exile (lol) and been kind enough to arrange a month of Sunday All Day events to help keep Sawyers rocking well into 2010 (with a little help from the lovely people at VodkaPunk Promotions helping out with the punk show). Called the USE IT OR LOSE IT all dayers, October will see 4 gigs held on consecutive Sundays over different genres, keep an eye out on the blogs for line up times etc.

Hi all, as a few of you know we're soon off for the annual piss up in true Donnington style, if ya going come and find us at the campsite (we're taking the BASTARD ASSHOLE banner to fly) and share a beer or 10! But before we go we always like a warm up party, just to make sure the body's ready lol, and this year we're doing it in proper style with 2 festival warm up shows.

Wednesday 10th June is the first, the night before we all leave to join the fun and this year sees SawyersVenue proudly present Northamptonshire Metal's very finest in SACRED MOTHER TONGUE. They're scheduled to open the Sunday on the 2nd stage so lets see em off in style, it's been a couple of years since anyone from the county's made the festival and the lads are flying at the moment with a fantastic album out and some great dates added across the UK with some real big names (Testament anyone!). The shows FREE ENTRY, support comes from ESOTERICA, who'll be playing the 3rd stage the same day as SMT, and Rushden lads BORELIA MASS. Come on down and support local bands, doors 8pm, curfew 12am.

Thursday 11th June sees Chris at CSM Promotions putting a shindig together. This night sees a headline performance from disslovedIN who'll be playing download's 4th stage the next day. Support comes from LYU, FOREVER WEDNESDAY and thousandDOWN, doors 8pm, £3 entry.

Hello all, this blog just gets busier and busier

The FREEFEST 09 Weekends now fully booked and running times have been set. We're all really excited about this at SawyersVenue, if you want a sneaky listen to any of the acts we've posted links down in the initial FreeFest blog, have a scroll down and follow ya ears. The first day sees a rock and metal line up, we've had Deadeye request to open proceedings, that should check the pa's working ok lol, so things are gonna start with a real bang, then a day of great local and national talent awaits before local favourites BLACK ROSE deliver a great party set to end the day. Sunday sees a more chilled out affair, and if the weather allows we'll be outside with this one (crosses fingers optimisticly). There's a few Sawyers faves on this one, along with a few surprises (THE BALSALL HEATHENS features Jock from GBH and Sam from CONTEMPT) so make sure you don't miss out on a great weekend out. We may even have a bbq as well, oh, and maybe a mini beer festival. AND ENTRY IS FREE YAY!!!!!

Hi everyone,

We've recently had a few strange goings on at the venue to say the least so decided we'd give the fantastic people at Northants Haunted a call. An initial investigation was carried out last night (tues 19th may 09, so anyone who tried to get in sorry) with some very interesting results, as well as traditional methods of table tipping and ouija boards for contact some very hi tech equipment was used to try to record the goings on. Lianne, Jason and Paddy all joined in, I had a mouch about watching everything that was going on, and some very strange things did. I'll post the videos, reports etc up here when we get em, as everythings gone away for analysis, but in the meantime if you wanna find out more drop by and have a chat over a beer :)
