Hello everyone,

I hope if your reading this you are well, and I hope if you"re not well, you realize that it will be ok sooner than you think.  Like for instance, I'm at coffee shop in Los Angeles, and the song they are playing is really really bad, but I'm sure it wont last for more than 3:20.  Ah yes, here's the fade. Better.  Much Better.

There's always a lot going on.  There's always a lot going on.  Had a great time touring this summer with my friend Joe Firstman.  Thanks to everyone that came to the shows and made it a fantastic tour.  Also, thanks to Joe for putting it together and having me out.  Damn, the corn in Pennsylvania looked healthy.  Sadly, I can't say the same for my home state of Texas.  Very dead.  Very Brown.  Very Dead.

Thanks also to those who purchased the Sleepy Creepy EP along the way.  I printed a limited number of copies, never to be duplicated again.  They are sold out.  I had a blast making it, and while a couple of the songs may show themselves on the upcoming record, it will not be available on itunes anytime in the near future.  I meant it sort of as a tour party favor, albeit, one I charged money for.  I realize a few silicon savvy so and sos have been sharing it online, and that's cool, thanks for listening.  Lars hates file sharing, I don't care. "What the world needs now, is another folk singer..." Coffee shop changed the station, I like this song better, much better "...Like i need a hole in my head".  Of course i would prefer to have your money, but Im just trying to get enough for a solid gold boat and suits of armor for everyone I know, then I'm out of the game anyway.

So yeah, Im back in LA, working on finishing the new record, playing a few shows, staying busy.  I was supposed to be across the pond very soon, but due to circumstances far beyond my control, it has been pushed back until Feb.  I was very much looking forward to coming over, as I always do, but i am thankful for the time to sit still for a second.  Hang out in the studio.  Make a new record.  Play a few shows with my band.  Write. There are new dates for the UK and Ireland already and the rest of the rescheduled European dates will be posted soon.  I will be touring solo, supporting my good friend Tom McRae, who has a new record coming out in the new year.  Tom has been a great friend and an amazing supporter of my music for many years now, and I can only extend my most humble gratitude to him for inviting me out again. His band, crew, and fans are fantastic, and the previous tours have been some of the best times in my life. I expect nothing less from this one.

Why am I not on Facebook?  I think technically, there is a spot that bears either my or my bands name, but i have never seen it, don't know how it got there, and don't know what to do with it. I'm not saying I won't get involved, just haven't yet.  So thank for coming back to the old neighborhood and saying hello.  Hello. Im well, thanks for asking. You?

The new record will be out soon.  When? Soon. and it's real, real, good.

Until then, if your in the LA area, I will be playing some shows both solo and with my band at the Hotel Cafe in October.  There will be tons of new songs, and a few of the old ones.  Hope you can make it.

Best wishes,
Brian Wright

come see BRIAN WRIGHT tonight at the The Night Cat in Easton, Maryland!!!!!
Friday, July 24, 2009
Brian is in the USA playing music.  Brian is carrying with him a box of compact discs with a picture of himself and a picture of a horse on the cover.  These are new songs recorded by Brian at New Monkey Studios in Van Nuys,CA, and at The Cave in Laurel Canyon. This new extended play(ep) collection of music is called Sleepy Creepy. I like it quite a good deal. Brian wrote all but one of the songs, a cover of Got Me Under Pressure by ZZTOP, which i liked already. This compact disc is only available for purchase at shows where Brian is performing, and available to sell one to you, but he says he will be very happy to. Brian will also trade but doesnt like to because of the meticulous nature with which he packs.  He says he played all the instruments on the sleepy creepy ep except for the twang stick that appears on the song the good doctor near the end which was played by chase because brian doesnt know how to play the twang stick, and chase does. I'm not sure what he means by that.  He hopes you will come to the shows and if you buy one he hopes you enjoy it.  He's not sure it will be the same thing ever.  He loves you and he says he hopes you"re doing well.  He is in Charlotte, NC tonight but he is not playing music on the musical tour there until Saturday at the Neighborhood theatre.  He is playing in Raleigh, NC at the Lincoln theatre on Friday night with Joe Firstman, who Brian is currently on the musical tour with and by all accounts, having a fantastic time.  He says someday maybe the songs will be available for purchase on itunes, but for now he prefers the personal touch of bringing it you himself. He's glad you took the time to visit, and I am too.

And one final thing, to Brian Wright & the Waco Tragedies enthusiasts in the UK and Europe, he (Brian) is very much looking forward to seeing you in the fall when he joins Tom McRae on tour.  He says the first girl i ever loved by the incredible string band is his favorite(favourite) song today.  Brian thanks you again for your time and support and bought me lunch to post this for him.  I think we're square.

With Warmest regards,
MARTIN SHEEN
