JimpsychoJimmy Aquino here. Your friendly neighborhood podcaster. I'm co-host of COMIC NEWS INSIDER (CNI), the podcast about comic books, sci-fi, animation and pop culture with news, reviews and interviews from some of the biggest names in comics and TV/film. I'm also a big ol' hippie! I've had long hair for about 20 years and usually get it trimmed annually. Well, I've finally decided to chop it off! Not all of it, but a good chunk. And to feed my massive ego even more, I'm making an event out of it!

The New York Comic-Con (NYCC) is coming on April 18th-20th at the Jacob Javitts Center. It's a big nerdy convention that will be full of comic book folk and celebrities. CNI will again have a big booth in the Podcast Arena doing live interviews, autograph signings, a charity raffle and more. And...I've decided to do the big cut as a charity and fundraiser event! The cut hair itself will go to LOCKS OF LOVE. And here's where I need your help. I'm asking for a flat fee pledge of any dollar amount. $1, 5, 10, 20, a gajillion..whatever you want! We will send money off to LOCKS OF LOVE along with the hair and the rest will be used as a fundraiser for CNI to help cover expenses. I'm still working out details, but I may possibly have a celeb do the actual snip! Who knows? Maybe we'll sing a tune. Stay tuned!

The haircut will take place on Saturday, April 19th at the CNI booth. (Time to be determined). Following the cut, as I've not known any other hairstyle for 20 years, a stylist will be on hand to work the new hair over. Feel free to come watch and suggest a style. Mohawk? Mullet? Bob? Heck, I wont even know until she's done!

Many ways to donate!

You can donate through PayPal. If you have an account, log in and type in the CNI hotline phone number to donate funds that way.
212 501 6246

Or, if you know where I work or might see me, good ol' cash will do fine. Feel free to pass this around work and friends and collect for me! Any further info, please message me directly through here!

Or, if you want to send a check, drop me a message here and i'll send you the info on where to send it.

Thanks for your support! (I'm sure I'll be needing moral support after the cut as well....sigh....)

Thanks!

Hey kids. We love getting your comments. But, please, for the love of pete....don't just put:

"Thanks for the add" or some variation there of. no pictures saying it. nothing clever.

while i'm at it, if you are just trying to advertise something (like YOUR site) and your comment has nothing to do w/ OUR show, then i will delete it.

sorry! just trying to make the site a little more listener/user friendly as i know myspace scares people due to all of the lame spam, etc.

if you want us to check out your stuff, send a message. if we dig it, we'll give it a plug on the show. simple as that!

thanks!

nothing but love....

Our good pal, Unemployed Skeletor, recently shot one of his blogs of evil with porn star Stormy Daniels. Yes, the real one. She's a big fan of his. She also graciously shot a quick promo for CNI! You can check it out in the comments section in a post from Skelly himself. Or on his MySpace blog page. Thanks to Skelly and Stormy!

As you know, we have had others on the show as regular guest contributors. Joining us on a semi-regular basis:

Blair Butler- G4TV's comicbook Queen of Geek. Check out her "Fresh Ink" segment every Friday on Attack of the Show at 7pm e.s.t.

Unemployed Skeletor- The internet phenomenon. "Skelly" joins us on occasion to give his opinion on whatever he wants. Hey, he's evil! Check out his "Blogs of Evil" on his MySpace site.

Ben Pope- Comic creator and bud, Paul Pope's nephew. Occasionally will do some comic reviews for us. Giving you that kid perspective!

Mike Cho- Our resident Manga/Anime expert. We turn to Mike for info on this genre. His familiarity and knowledge is greatly useful.

Scoop Jenkins- The elusive Scoop pops up on occasion to offer his words of wisdom. Like Captain America, we found him frozen in a block of ice. After a days of thawing him out with a blow dryer, he came back to life. A man out of time, former Daily Planet reporter,  Scoop,  still uses his 40's vernacular while trying to understand the world he now lives in.

Well, with some mad pleading and begging, we were able to get some assistance to pimp out the page. Unemployed Skeletor himself started off the process, though I have a feeling one of his minions helped him. He's too evil to help.

Adding the finishing touches and truly pimping the crap out of the page was Dark Spider's husband! Supersize biggie XXXL all-bowing down thanks to Ruben! The links, the banner, the background, the pimping! Great job!

Always a pleasure to get an assist from some loyal listeners! After all, we're busy digging up stories, tracking down interviews, writing copy, recording, taking pics, etc.

Ah, who am I fooling? We're just reading comics and watching cartoons while drinking beer and eating junk food. It's the life and I love it!

Thanks again guys! You rock! I wok! (Cuz I'm Asian...)
