Well fucks, the time is here. We are officially no more. Several reasons that brought this on:

1.Jarrod,Mike,Christine,Chris were Sciatica. Without Jarrod it wasn't Sciatica

2.There's no fuckers around here that are badass drummers and cool people. Either they're good drummers and they're fucking pricks. Or they suck ass on drums, but they're cool. 6 months searching for drummers and everyone turns out to be a piece of faggot shit, that gets old.

3.Christine and myself are working on having a little baby hate, so we're concentrating on having a family for awhile now.

4. We're still all friends and will still jam and hang out from time to time.

5. We did everything we could short of selling our souls to the road to be successful and it didn't work out for us. We did multiple tours, got signed to a little shitty label, played countless shows, and met a lot of cool people and cool bands around the country. There's not much left we could've done.

6.I'll be doing classical guitar gigs http://www.mikeslaten.bravehost.com

And christine and I may start an acoustic duo and play out from time to time.

Thanks for those of you who actually really showed us support, we greatly appreciate it and we had an awesome 4 year ride. To those of you who didn't give a shit or believe in us, fuck off and die a slow painful tortured death. That's about it. I won't continue blogs or updates on this site cause there's nothing left to update. But I will keep this page up for those of you who want to stop by and listen to the tunes we have up here or just looks back on the good old days. It's been fun and believe me you'll see us in some form or fashion in music in the future. We'll never quit playing music wether it's in a "cover" band when we're 40, or it's acoustic or classical stuff, or doing blues jams, or even maybe putting out some solo metal albums independently under different names down the road. Continue to listen to good music, keep those horns up high, and fuck all those who oppose.

Yes, that’s right. We haven’t given up just yet. We’re still looking for a drummer so that we can rip up the road and the stage once again fuckers. Hit us up if you’re serious.

Well it's officially official, we have parted ways with longtime drummer J. We are all still friends and wish him nothing but the fucking best. Due to schedules and what not we felt it had to be done. We're now on to the search for someone who's sick like us and wants to spread the gospel of hatred. We're talking to a few people right now, so hopefully we'll find the right person soon and be ready to tear up the stage again in the coming months. Believe me friends and fuckers, sciatica is far from done. We've still got bastards and bitches to punish. Just look for a completely new and energized sciatica with a completely new sound and all new material. Thanks for the support. Keep spreading the word motherfuckers.

New Band!
Just wanted to let you know about a new side band J and Mike are in w/Joey from Diverge and The John Wayne Whiskey Experiment. It's called Kuklinski. It's Mike on vocals, Joey on guitar, and J on drums. It's a mixture of deathgrind/metalcore/electronica. Breakbeats and samples lay the background for this sick and twisted murder music, followed by the sickest most brutal fucking vocals, guitars, and off-beat drum patterns. We're taking some influences from greats like Dying Fetus, Full Blown Chaos, Hatebreed, Prong, Exodus, Testament, Goatwhore, Converge, Dillinger Escape Plan, Bong-Ra, Venetian Snares, Miss K, The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, Cryptopsy, Cephalic Carnage, Napalm Death, and basically the thoughts and ideas behind hitmen, murders, torture, rape, the mafia, and prison. You probably won't like it because it's basically the soundtrack to kill someone to and it's not fucking "hip". But if you got fucking balls and you're not a god damn faggot ass pussy then feel free to check it out. We should be playing some fucking shows and doing a little travelling in the next few short months. Here's the myspace link for the band:

p.s. Sciatica is still alive and kicking. So keep coming to the site here and thanks for the fucking support over the years. May your hearts be filled with hate and your livers filled with alcohol

Well, as always we had a fucking blast playing in Montgomery at Head On The Door(best fucking bar to play). Todd and Brian and Meeker always treat us right, and we drank our weight in booze as usual. Had a decent crowd, and some of our usual friends show up to watch us bang it out. And as usual we ran off some of the "yuppie" fucks that come in wanting to hear some cover band bullshit. That's probably our last show for quite awhile as we're all working stiffs these days and have little time or money to travel out. But you never know when we'll hit the stage or come to a town near you, so keep your ears and eyes peeled. And until then, keep stopping by and listening to our shit, buy our shit online, spread the word, keep the hate, and stay fucked up. See ya bitches

Well, it was the week before last, but who gives a fuck. It was fun, we played w/some bands and some band on Century Media Records. We destroyed ourselves and spewed forth our hatred for everything and everyone. We'll be playing Head On The Door in Montgomery,Al next month. Until then fuck yourselves, stay fucked up, and fuck the world. Hate!

Well we're playing Head On The Door in Montgomery,Al Nov. 10th. It's been too long away from the road and the live setting, and the wait will be well worth it. Opening the night will be The John Wayne Whiskey Experiment(our side hardcore/death metal band with Joey from Diverge on guitar/vox, Chris on Vocals, and Mike on drums/vox.), and Ruins Of Sovereign(two-piece doom/hardcore/blues featuring Mike on drums/vox, and Chris on guitar/vox....hour long songs in the vein of Sleep, Crowbar, Black Sabbath, Neurosis, Clutch, Agnostic Front....total bluesy doom driven metal with hints of old school hardcore). Get prepared mothers!

Well here's what's been going on lately with the members of sciatica and where sciatica stands currently.

Christine,Mike, and Chris have been writing some new material and working on an acoustic project as well. Chris, and Mike have been playing in the John Wayne Whiskey Experiment as well. And J has a one man project called Eyes Of Alice, which is pretty badass.

Sciatica is currently still searching for a drummer, so if you're a drummer and not a douchebag then send us a message directly and we'll get back with you.

The new sciatica material is even more doom/sludge/stoner oriented with a huge emphasis on the neurosis/isis/pink floyd/black sabbath influences. 10 minute epic fucking songs to get fucked up to.

The acoustic project is pretty killer kind of like pink floyd/alice in chains/allman brothers/portishead type shit.

The John Wayne Whiskey Experiment is full on hardcore/grindcore/death metal/comedy/parody type shit.

And Eyes Of Alice w/J is deftones/neurosis type shit.

Go check out Eyes Of Alice and The John Wayne Whiskey Experiment on myspace if you haven't already.

Well, our friend and fellow musician J(drums)is moving on to other paths in his life and we wish him the best. Their are no hard feelings or animosity towards him and it has nothing to do with any of us personally or musically. He is moving on to provide for his family the best way he knows how, and we fully support that. But rest assured we've talked about it recently and decided to continue on with Sciatica. We've worked too hard and accomplished too much, and we love playing music too much to give this band up. So now the search for a drummer begins. If you are a drummer or know of someone please contact us. Here's a few guidelines roughly...(believe me if you know us, we don't put rules and restrictions on shit, but we also don't want to deal with any fucking gay ass bullshit from people either)....must be over the age of 21(because minors are fucking annoying and we're all way too old to hang around with some teenage fuck), must have your own drums(and use your own drums, not mine), we love to get fucked up within semi-reason(but if you're a fucking coke head, or down with the heroine, or white trash meth or hardcore shit like that...fuck off), must not be a christian(we ain't down with the religious bullshit either), must love metal, listen to metal, and be able to play metal, must play double bass, must be cool, and emo fucks need not apply, oh yeah and must be dedicated to your instrument and to our music and love playing for the love(not the money, the record deals, or any other gay ass pop bullshit), and must be willing to do some travelling and occasional light touring, and be willing to practice at least once or twice a week and play shows at least a couple of times a month. See ya bitches!!

Thursday, May 24, 2007

Well thanks for this past weekend everyone. We had quite a wild ride. It had been over a month since we had been on stage, and since december since we'd done a double header weekend. So it felt fucking great to say the least. Still sad to see that in our own home town we still after 3 years....get anyone to come see us play. But Tabu was a lot of fun, great sound and stage and soundguys, hot chicks and freaks doing crazy shit, and good times with our buds in Diverge. Montgomery however at Head On The Door was fucking fantastic as always, probably the best one we've had yet. Ripped shit up, had a great crowd and very responsive, and got completely fucking smashed drinking jager bombs, beers, and shots of hell all damn night long. Who knows if that was the end, but probably the last double header sciatica weekend you'll probably ever see. Wish we could've gotten a little more support over the years to make this thing happen on a financial level, but we've had a blast. We may have a couple more shows left in us, we may not. Just stay posted, but just giving everyone a heads up that we will be putting down the sciatica thing pretty shortly. We're all moving on in different directions, most of us have families, jobs, and other responsibilities and it's not at a place where sciatica's gonna be able to continue on touring and playing music pretty soon. Don't worry though, some of you already know myself(Mike Hate) and Chris(bassist) have another band w/Joey from Diverge called The John Wayne Whiskey Experiment(http://www.myspace.com/thejohnwaynewhiskeyexperiment) and myself and christine will be starting an acoustic duo type thing shortly....the three of us will also be starting a little rock/stoner type thing along the lines of helmet, queens of the stone age, the rolling stones, ac/dc, that kind of killer shit. And me, chris, and joey will probably also be working on a straight up old school thrash band down the road. So music is still in the future for the members of sciatica, just in other avenues. We're not dead just yet, but just don't be shocked when it happens. It's been a fucking wild ride, some near death experiences, a lot of kickass music, a lot of disappointment, and a lot of crazy shit in the past 3 1/2 years. Stay posted. And thanks to all you fuckers that continue the support.
