Current mood: chipper
OK - Virgin blog entry on the oft neglected MySpace page.
Spent the weekend in the city for a change and ran around like a total tourist. Well, our friend Kathy came in from Cleveland with her mom for the weekend - so we played tour guide and dragged them all over the island on Saturday. Breakfast in Unions Square, a spin through the farmer's market, bee line to Kiehl's then down to SoHo for window shopping and Broadway people watching. Hot chocolate at Marie Belle (delish). Zip around Times Square - by subway, of course. Scooted through Rock Center - coffee and Dean & Deluca. Always a good brew.
Then we went for a swank dinner uptown at Beacon and headed to the Opera at Lincoln Center. Madame Butterfly -great production, but I think I dozed off a little during the second act because Chaz kept poking me.
Sunday was a total wash out mess. Damn Nor'easters. Sideways rain - yuck. But that doesn't keep a good tour guide down! We'll tooled around the Polish neighborhood (our friend's mom, Celina, is originally from Poland) so we bopped in and out of the Polish shops. I had no idea what was going on - everyone but Chaz and me are speaking Polish. But the girls were having fun. Stopped at this kooky place for lunch with suits of armor out in front (rusting in the rain).
Whew. I am tired just recounting it. Damn, that was a whirlwind.
Now, if only I had a relaxing week of work ahead. Ha! Not in a millions years ....
