A lil teaser is up, it has a bunch of clips from songs of our new record. The tracks are unmastered and are still quite rough as I used tracks I mixed down like 2 weeks ago but it sounds pretty neat!

We are recording some more new tracks at our buddy Mike's house this sunday and right after are starting to do vocal stttuffffzzz

I'm done mixing most of the instrumentals so we will probably put up a new song with a bunch of instrumental clips from songs that are going to be off our new cd!  We are going to start doing vocals at ma place soon and around the same time we plan to go over to our buddy Mike's house to start recording a couple more new songs for the cd!! We have been writing a lot and brought back an old song that we played live once and have since revamped, its saweeettt!

Also! Here is the cover art that Theo has drew up for us! It has some slight tinkering to be done but it looks siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiccckk!!




Oh and its not going to be called "Demos: Volume 2" btw! We probably aren't going to call it anything

So basically we went to the studio awhile back, did our thang, and everthing went preetty gouda. Then some shizzha happened and we have to redo a bunch of stuff and edit, mix and master this puppy ourselves! So that is pretty much why we haven't really been doing much on the myspace but I'm gonna throw up a new layout and some studio videos sometime soooonnn. We are also hoping to plan some kind of cd release show majig for this bad boy as well!

Oh! Theo from Dance Electric is doing the artwork for the cd! You can peep his shit at DE shows and I think he has it up on his facebook if you be his old chumaroo!

We've got ourselves studio time booked with Nick Turner for mid-February, so that means we are finally going to get ourselves some polished recordings and not have those oh so delectable camera demos anymore! We've never set foot in a studio before so this is going to be a first for us and we are very excited. We are definitely going to be filming the whole ordeal and posting it online in the form of studio bloglettes so you can be there with us (in a sense ).

We've got a bunch of new songs for you and we are going to be re-recording those camera demos as well! We'll let you know more as we do

Makeshift Wings

Hey fellerz!
We got a new demo up, again recorded with a cheap kodak picture camera on video mode but this time it's accompanied with some really old sony microphone that I borrowed from Kevin from Midnight Pilot. I think it used to be his grandpas or somein'.
Anyways, we took down the Something About Angels acoustic song to make room for the new one but you can still hear that song in the music video on the left. Also, we have a bunch of other new songs that we still need to put lyrics to and I think a short while after we're done that we are gonna head into a real studio (finally!) and re-record these demos and brand new songs into some actual good recordings!

Makeshift Wings

Hey there folks, gotta lot of shit to shoot some I'm gonna jump right in 

So first of all, that shitload of time we spent "writing" and taking a break was more of just taking a break than writing . We all just recently have been preoccupied with stuff like going back to school, jobs (obviously just Brad and Eric ) and other commitments in our lives. So we kinda had to step back from the band and get our shit together, and that is happening around now. JUST in time for some pretty wicked Mississauga shows we have the luck to be involved in...

We are playing at "The Dam" on October 25th with a bunch of bands from Mississauga. The Dam is a youth drop in that is located at the back of the Meadowvale Town Center, so it is super close and should be super fun! There is a banner for the show on our page and if you click it, it will take you to a facebook event with more info and what not!

After that we are playing at Mount Carmel S.S. on December 4th with a bunch of Mississauga bands and hopefully a bad ass headliner! There will be more info regarding that when the date gets closer.

We have a bunch of other shows coming up soon also, including a VERY big one if it does not fall through . But in between those two shows we hopefully will get a lot done which also might include recording but we don't know yet.

We might also have some more toys to play with at our shows if they are done in time, including gay lights and gay boxes . My dad is working on the lighting system right now and my friend Tim and I are painting a rockbox tomorrow. It should be pretty jokes

Hey there everyone!
We played the August Playdium Music Festival a few days ago and needless to say it was tonnes of fun! Our set was shortened a lil' bit and my dang playcard didn't work when I tried to use it and then when I tried it just before I was leaving it worked, but it was still an awesome time!

We are doing it all again September 13th so make sure you come! I'm thinking we should get everyone together and play a huge game of that grand prix racing thing where we can all race each other at the same time or w/e! =)

    I threw up a track recently conssisting of a bunch of clips of new songs and what not, so check that out if you have the time! A few of you might already be familar with the first song but hopefully the other songs are new and exciting for you! We'll probably leave this track up for just a week or two before we take 'er down all bad ass style.

For the moment we are pretty much focusing on the upcoming Playdium shows as well as writing new material and hopefully planning a few free local shows.

     Hey there! It's been a while and we've got a lot to get through, so lets just jump in , shall we?

NEW SONG: We just recorded "Grape Drink and the Wooden Pistol" with a cheap Kodak camera and $40 mic, for all of you to hear and get the gist of. Hopefully everyone enjoys it and doesn't mind the poor quality!

TOUR: As you may have noticed we are hitting the road this July with our soon to be best friends Counterfit Seven! It is from July 5 - 18, starting off in Streetsville at the Basement West, a $2 show, with our BEST pals Mayday and other sweet bands. This show is a must! Hopefully we will have lots of support from yall when we are off! If anybody knows people from the places we are visting please convince them to come check us out and bring some peeps, it's bound to be a good time!

BASEMENT TOUR: Also, this August we will be doing a small tour of basements, garages, backyards and even some venues with a select group of the ultimate Mississauga bands!! Most of these shows will be absolutely free and soo close that you have to come!

NEW CD: After recording perhaps one more bad quality camera demo and the tour, we plan to hit the studio with Nick from the Mad Dixons to record "Demos: Volume 2". We plan on re-recording all our good old tunes and acutally recording the sweet new ones! This time it'll be saaaweeett quality! =)

NEW MERCH: We also finally have new merch ready to be printed! After selling out at the S4C Show we haven't been fast to come up with new shizz but soon my friends we shall have more awesome t-shirts! Let us know how you feel about the possible designs (A/B).


ALSO! We have changed our myspace URL from MAKESHIFTWINGSSUCK to MAKESHIFTWINGZ. Alarming, we know.

   Hey everyone!! The show last friday was succchhh a freaking blast it was soo amazing! There were sooo many people there and it was just amazing! Thanks to EVERYONE for coming and showing your support! A lot of you were going crazy and few we're even singing along, and we can't thank you enough for that! You all made us feel like a real band that night, it was ridiculous!
I believe Skate4Cancer made around $2,000 thanks to all of you guys! Be Proud!
That night we also donated all the profits we made from our merch that night to S4C, and somehow, we sold out of all our stuff!



So we are going to be making new shirts soon (ones with an actual cool designs this time!!) and will also have new recordings, so stay tuned!!

We're gonna be doing it again at Reillys this Friday, THE TICKETS ARE FREE IF YOU GET THEM OFF US, so please do so, we want to see ALL of you again and more!! =D
