That song is very true, y'know?

My favorite local rock station has just recently went automated.  No longer, are there any djs to listen to.  For several years, the station was fun.  Great rock, personalities you could connect with.  Then over the past year or two things slowly started to change.  Different DJs coming and going.  Airtimes changing.  They started broadcasting sports games at night, when didn't never did before.

Then they added the Adam Carolla Show in the morning.  AWFUL! I used to listen to the station every morning on the drive to work, the DJ ("Mary Ann Rocks!") usually played Metallica at the same time everyday, it was great.  Imagine, banging out to master of puppets to ready yourself for the daily grind.  but that changed.  Adam Carolla, give me a fucking break.

and then just last week, the station went fully computerized AND changed formats from rock to variety.  just song after song, with a computer quickly giving the song title and artist before moving on to the next song.  boring radio. the whole point of listening to the radio is for the DJs.  otherwise, why not just listen to a CD? or MP3 player?  i guess that's what i'll just have to do from now on.  radio IS crap.

and if you're wondering, I'm talking about YOU, KSEK 99.1 FM.  BOO!  i won't be listening to you anymore.  perhaps i should let your advertisers know this.

here's to you, tom petty.  there WENT the last DJ...

Earlier this week, I put in for vacation next month. I’ll be taking off the week before Memorial Day. I guess the plant is shutdown on Memorial Day so it looks like I’ll have 10 whole days with no worky! Dance!

There’s a couple places I really want to go, but I don’t think I could afford the trip. I’d like to go down into Texas. Specifically, Shiner, TX, which is where Shiner Bock beer is made. Then on my way back, maybe drop by to see my brother that lives in Amarillo. However, as I mentioned, I don’t think I could afford the trip. Riding on teh bike, or not. :(

I AM going to try to go down to Tulsa, at least. I got a high school chum that lives down there, I just may connect with him and see what’s up.

Memorial Day weekend is also Katy Days here in Parsons, must attend that, like every year. As far as I know, one of my best friends will be coming to town then, so good times will be had by all, once again! :D

Lastly, I’ve been studying to upgrade my amateur radio license. In about three weeks, I’ll be going up to Chanute to take the exam. Luck!

This weekend is the Joplin Hamfest at the John Q. Hammons convention center. I'm very much looking forward to it. I plan on buying a few things I could use and hopefully sell a few items too. Here's to money!

After that, next week, I got vacation, baby! So after Friday, I no worky until after Labor Day. Beat that! I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I do smell a road trip. Mountains, perhaps? A little roughing it? It could happen. or maybe not. ^_^

I only wish I would have ordered my motorcycle tire earlier. It won't be here for a while it looks like, so I guess I won't be road tripping on the bike. :( oh well.

yeah, i fucking said it. fuck you, fred phelps and all your worthless, loser followers.

i just learned a bit ago that Fred Phelps, the jackass pastor from the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, is planning to demonstrate at the funerals of those who were killed at the bridge collapse in Minnesota. he says that god made the bridge collapse. what. an. asshole.

if god does exist, i hope he has a special place in hell reserved just for him.

i swear, i should not ever work on my bike again. earlier this week, i accidently shattered a glass lense covering a light on the lightbar. i had the fixture apart fixing a short that i somehow managed to produce when i was screwing in a bolt that holds the lightbar to the bike.

well i got the replacement lense in today and got it fixed, but i also ordered some new mirrors too right? well, thankfully, i didn't break the glass (yet) but i did drop one a couple times. so, i was installing the leftside mirror, and when i gave 'er hell to tighten it down, the bolt snapped. it FREAKING SNAPPED RIGHT OFF! i can't freaking win. so, now i have to order a new set of bolts and SOMEhow remove the leftover piece of bolt.
