Current mood:horrified
last night around 10pm, i busted out the old tascam 4-track cassette recorder.  with one take each, i had two acoustic guitar tracks (with a few glaring flubs) and two vocal tracks.  my plan for this is to have michelle sing over the second verse while i hit the tamborine.  then for the instrumental break, i'll do something on the accordion.  that will be for one track. for the other, michelle will double her vocals while i shake a maraca.  then for the instrumental break, i'll do something with the sax.  gracie can make whatever noise she wants during this time.  it's a bit much for only four tracks.  and the mic picked up the tape motor, so it's all shitty like that.  regardless, i can't wait to share it with you fuckers.

i love how this song got recorded. i was at dan and marlene's for new year's. we woke up new year's eve day after a night of drinking, and dan and i had nothing to do while the ladies went out to do i can't remember what. he had a layla interface and a couple condenser mics at the time. we started of with the acoustic. then i used dan's strat and the little squier 15 i had given him which david j now has. we didn't have a bass, so i played the acoustic and we dropped the pitch an octave DIGITALLY. the drums were sauce pans and a bucket. by the time everyone came over to celebrate, we had a fucking song. it would've gone gold if we had a popper stopper gosh darn it.

Current mood:  tired
i had to make room for this one. sorry if i removed someones favorite pa song. maybe w and w will show up on some best of non-performing solo artists compilation. this one has a beat courtesy of morgan's old drum set and cracked cymbals. this is an odd specimen due to the fact that it was built on top of a melody i dreamt up while riding a bike a long time ago. all that's left of that melody is in the guitar solo with a bit of influence over the verses. the fuck you care?!

For Clay and anyone else. Pacific is the ocean I live next too. It also means "peaceful." But it has nearly taken me in rather violent fashion more than once. Arms can embrace or destroy. I guess I'm into the whole paradox thing-- Abraxas-- whatever. I probably disappointed someone by writing this. I'm sorry.
