Trust that this first Nomadic Missive carries with it our best wishes for the New Year. May peace, health and guidance carry you through this next cycle, and remain with you through the joy and pain ahead.

On quest-

Quest. New or in progress. An ongoing process camouflaged by the daily grind, which resurfaces in our consciousness ever so often. How many can claim that they have found what they're looking for? Bono, maybe by now! It fuels our drive and gives us the ability to shift gear. Questions our motivations and has us doubt in moments of lesser clarity and fear. In quest, some are found, spotted among crowds of hundreds; making strangers kindred. Quest for solace, a place to rest, a nest to roost, a roof. Quest is a stranger to time, at least the man-made kind. It's closer to the syncopated, quantized, broken down in unequal parts kind. The one the drum, and bass alike, kept and freely share. The one you would like to stop with someone else, for that one time or once in a while; bringing infinity through the interlocking of shy eyes, while souls converse in front of mirrors of silence. Quest puts order in chaos and spontaneity in order; has some sleeping in a cell, calling a cell, unanswered…

On a scale more personal, a question for our newest resolutions: Will our innate quest for self-destruction take over that of survival? We believe in you like we believe in ourselves!

And you better believe that Nomadic Massive has been hard at work over the holy-daze to bring you fresh sounds for the upcoming months. As we can't predict the future just yet, we cannot give you a definite estimated time of arrival for the next album. A Nomadic show is definitely the best way to get an aural glimpse every now and then.

The next opportunity if you're in the Montreal region will be Wednesday Jan. 31st at Foufounes Électriques alongside Toronto's 8-piece Hiphop band Northstar. Entrance is 5$ and doors open at 9 pm. Check out http://www.northstarmusic.ca for details. Should be hot!

Our friends in Ottawa will be pleased to know that we have been putting much legwork in order to secure a date in March. The narrator was recently in the capital-city on a stalking mission, preying (mostly) on venue owners. Solid contacts have been made and it is our belief that our best interests are in good hands. Ottawa definitely has got soul-jazz and it is the general feeling that a "jokko" (wolof for coalition) was made.
