...about the author/teacher...

A graduate of Syracuse University, Michael Martineau began his show business career as a talent agent in 1964. Coincidentally thrust into the gold rush of superstars, rock festivals and global tours, Martineau worked on the careers of recording artists like: Herman's Hermits, The Animals and The Hollies. Later, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, Cat Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Yes, The Who, Santana, Neil Young and The Eagles among others.

In 1975, Martineau became personally involved in the skyrocketing successes of Earth, Wind & Fire and Lionel Richie, prompting him to open his own talent agency with offices in New York and Los Angeles. In addition to receiving dozens of gold and platinum record awards for his efforts Martineau represented two TONY AWARD winning productions, won by his client Diana Ross for her Broadway Palace Theater performance Diana and by Julie Harris, for her starring role in The Belle of Amherst He also represented the touring companies of National Lampoon, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Star Trek, starring William Shatner and Clarence Darrow, with Henry Fonda.

Martineaus prior film experience includes involvement in the production aspects of several music films, among them, Sergeant Pepper, Tommy, Thank God It's Friday, and Saturday Night Fever (most recently Year Of The Comet in an Executive Producer deal for Castlerock Films).

After a brief retirement to the Virgin Islands where he wrote and successfully published a novel titled Lets Get Rowdy! (including the sale of the film rights), Martineau resumed his career to create screenplays and novels, as well as produce, musically design and market motion pictures. Martineau is currently working on the various literary and production aspects of several original film properties he created, including three children's books.

5. During this time Martineau worked on the successful packaging and sale of two old WILLIAM GOLDMAN screenplays: Year Of The Comet for Castlerock Films, starring PENELOPE ANNE MILLER and TED DALEY, directed by PETER YATES, which was produced and released. The other Goldman property is Sea Kings, an Executive Producer deal optioned by Universal Pictures.
