Another Youtube fragment of Pan's Labyrinth by Persephone's Dream at the 3RP Festival. Here the angry Urban youth sings of his desperation within the walls of his concrete jungle.

Just a small snippet of the song "URBAN PASTORAL" from our upcoming CD "PAN'S LABYRINTH" performed live at the 3RP Progressive Rock Festival in Burgettstown, PA this past August. This is only a small portion of a 36 minute song!

Greetings Friends of Persephone!

I'm sure you have noticed a slight delay in the release of our latest CD "Pan's Labyrinth."  It is now set for release around February 2010.  This CD will feature our new singer Ashley Peer!  She is certainly an incredible talent as you will soon hear!!  We found her tucked away in a little farm town singing in the church choir!  Well, not really! LOL   She has an incredible vocal range, at least about 4 octaves and counting! I haven't really found her limitations yet!  She will also be playing percussion and keyboards in the future as well.

The music for the new CD is just about complete and we are feverishly working on putting down all the vocal tracks.  We should be complete in a couple of weeks and then the mixing will begin.  We will still be under the PROGROCK label and they will distribute our CD worldwide.

Get ready to enter the Labyrinth!

Just an update!  We are writing, practicing, and recording like crazy!  It looks as if our new CD "Pan's Labyrinth" is right on schedule and will be released most likely in August 09!!   As someone commented on one of our rehearsals yesterday:  "Hey, that doesn't sound like your other CDs!"  Well, yes, it is quite different.  It's definitely an abrupt turn off the beaten path!  Of course this is "progressive rock," and as our guitarist Rowen said yesterday "why would we want our CD's all to sound the same??"

We are still ensconced in the studio, writing
and recording the follow-up to Pyre of
Dreams. The new music has taken a
decidedly serious progressive turn, for the
most part. We have expanded Pan's
Labyrinth into a rather massive song that
may encompass the entire CD. New parts to
it include The Tears of Selene, The Temple
of Nyx and a part currently called Urban
Pastoral. The previously mentioned pieces
Silhouette and Erato's Pulse have been
incorporated into this song as parts of the
whole. Lots of fun! :)

We are hoping to have the new CD ready for

release by late summer.

Greetings Campers!  Well, I finally did it!  I bought a new Mini Moog Voyager Electric Blue Synthesizer!  I've wanted another Moog synthesizer ever since I gave mine up in the late 70's after I fell for all of the phony hype from the digital synthesizer salesmen!   The Moog, after all, is the standard of the industry.  Almost every keyboard you buy nowadays has sound samples from the original Mini Moog.  Moog, often imitated, often copied.  Why?  Because it's the BEST!   Anyway, even though I'm just getting my feet wet again with it, I took it to the studio this past Sunday to record the keyboard parts for Silhouette.  Rowen dimmed the lights so that we could see the fabulous blue lights emanate from each dial!  It's almost as if each knob has a deadly radium ring, it's own little poisonous Australian octopus!   I will have to go into the studio again this weekend to finish up.  I'm trying to get the most out of the Moog for this song as I can.  I believe the percussion tracks will be the next recording weekend, followed by the vocals!  Can't wait!  This song is really going to be fun to listen to when completed!  Till the next time!

The 3 Rivers Progressive Rock Festival just concluded yesterday!  I was only able to attend on Sunday, but have to say that it was an incredible success!!  More than anything, the people in attendance were some of the nicest people I've ever met!  I think that says something for the caliber of people who listen to Progressive Rock!  It was weird to be in the same place with hundreds of people who I felt a special kinship with, as if we were spiritually connected in some way.   The performers were also great people who left their egos back in the dust many years ago, truly serious musicians.  I met with a local band of young musicians who won the battle of the bands contest, KALON.  An incredible bunch of up and coming musicians.  I spoke with two of their members, namely Adam and Ben, at some length and we discussed the possibility of doing a show together in the near future.  The highlight of yesterday's performance for me was The CA Guitar Trio made up of 3 musicians from different parts of the world who were trained by King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp.  The played a wide variety of styles, beautiful slow ethereal compositions, remakes of famous classical pieces by Bach and Beethoven, to songs by Queen.  They were absolutely incredible!   My most secret of thrills came when I discoved a table near the entrance giving out free CD's and T-Shirts of one of my all time favorite Prog Rock bands from the US, FIREBALLET!   I found out that not only are the releasing their two albums on CD, but coming out with a new CD as well!!  I'm in heaven!!  Well, for those of you who couldn't attend, please try and come next year, it's well worth the trouble!
