Hello folks.  By now some of you may have heard that Plan A has officially called it quits after 6 great years.  We all have enjoyed our times together and with you and can't begin to thank you guys and girls so much for all of the support and friendship.  We hope you will continue to enjoy the music we had so much fun making and will keep up with any projects we may find ourselves working on in the future.

Here is a quick update on what we are doing now......Brian is playing guitar in Soundtrack Black with other former members of Immortal Chorus and occasionally joins me on stage for some acoustic performances.  Devan is now living in Chattanooga and can be found behind his kit in the clubs down there supporting several different acts.  Tommy is working hard with the Homer Hart band and sometimes sitting in with Homemade Wine.  Eric Keeble can be found around the area in several projects such as The Drunk Uncles, The Moonshine Cherrys, and Fishsticks.  Grant and I are now working on some new music and I am, as always, still performing solo shows both here and on the road. We can't wait to see all of you again real soon.

Thanks for 6 great years!

Hey there gang!  Hope everyone's summer is off to a good start.  We are getting ready to hit the road some in July and are looking forward to seeing many of you while we're out there.  We just got some good news we wanted to pass along.  Due to the success of  'Almost Perfect' on the GAINcentral website, the song is going to be played throughout the month of July on Guitar Center radio!  This means several times a day Plan A will be heard in Guitar Center stores across the country.  We are very excited about this and even more excited to see some of our other tunes climbing the charts as well.  We are trying to get our CDs in Gutar Center stores in this area, too, which would help spread the word even more (so cross those fingers).  We want to thank you guys for all your support and remind you to keep requesting Plan A here in Knoxville on 90.3 WUTK and on 105.3 WFIV as often as you can.  Listener requests help so much!  See you at the shows!

Well as most of you may have already heard, we now have yet another new member, Mr. Tommie Eakins on bass guitar!  If you have followed the band for a while, you already know we have had a rotating cast of characters for the past couple of years.  With Tommie now on board, we expect to have things locked in for a good long while.  He has been doing great and fits in perfectly.

If you haven’t had a chance to check us out lately, and hear Tommie lay down the goove, never fear because we are gearing up for some summer touring.  We hope to be in a town near you very soon.  Starting with a short run in Florda last month, we are back at it supporting our latest album, ’Caught Up In The Fray.’  The album has been getting some great reviews and we are enjoying bringing the live show to you guys.  We are working on a tour for July right now which we hope will span the entire east coast and part of Texas.  If you think you might be able to help us find a show near you, feel free to drop us a line and we will do our best to make that happen.  Otherwise, just keep on digging the tunes and keep in touch with us for more news as it comes.  Check out the calendar to find a show near your hometown and make plans to be there.

As always, if you are interested in helping us promote any of our shows, please drop us a line.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Take care guys.  We hope to see you soon!

Hey there everyone, I wanted to pass along to all of you the sad new about the closing of the Corner Lounge.  Knoxville has lost not only one of the coolest bars but a pillar of support for our local scene.  We will greatly miss the Corner and want to say thank you to Ed and everyone who gave us so many great times.  The Corner closed its doors last Thursday night.

Of course this means our scheduled show for Friday night with our friends Sam Lewis and the Whipperwills wil be cancelled.  We hope to have a show with them come along again real soon.

Yes, as some of you have noticed (or will eventually) the latest piece of press for Plan A focuses on our debut album, which is now three years old, instead of our latest release, "Caught Up In The Fray."  Despite the reason for the misdirection in the piece the fact remains that it is a great article covering our grateful, little noise machine and we're proud of it.  We hope you take a moment to swing over to the Metro Pulse site and check it out!  You can do that by clicking here.

We have a few hometown show to take us through the end of 2007 posted, so if you are in or near Knoxville, please try to catch us live in the next couple of months.  We are planning on more travels in 2008 and the wheels are starting to turn for getting those shows lined up.  We'll keep you updated on any new developments.  And as always, if you don't already have a copy of the new CD, quit wasting time and get one.  It's easy to do, just click on the banner below.  They make great gifts for the holidays!!

In this month's issue of Performing Songwriter magazine, our latest album has been selected as one of their Top 12 DIY Picks! As you can imagine, this is a HUGE compliment to our hard work and other efforts to continue to get our music into the world. We are all very excited and hope you share in that excitment as well. Copies of the magazine can be found at several reputable booksellers nationwide, including (but not limited to) Borders, Barnes and Noble, and Guitar Center. The issue is also online at www.performingsongwriter.com. Below is the review we received.

Matt Woods' Plan A
Caught Up in the Fray
Featured Download: "My Way" MP3

It's only a matter of time before singer-songwriter Matt Woods finds wider recognition. His second album offers the immediacy and accessibility that major labels generally latch onto. On songs like "My Way," "Flight to California" and "Lonely Ones," Woods wades through one emotional tempest after another, garnering powerful, affecting performances that resonate even on first hearing.

Woods matches his commanding vocals with an ace backing band in Plan A. Together they provide the riveting, rock-solid arrangements these tunes call for—whether turning up the heat for a searing rocker or adding just the right touch of nuance to one of Woods' searing, sad-eyed ballads. It's that balance between frenzy and finesse that gives these rugged, restless narratives an unequivocal sense of determination and purpose.

If you still haven't picked up your copy of "Caught Up In The Fray," you can do so NOW!! From where you sit, you can order a copy of our CD online and have it shipped straight to your home in no time at all. All you have to do is CLICK THE BANNER BELOW to buy our CD form CDBaby.com!! Could we make it any eaiser?!

Happy Holidays from Plan A!

We just wanted to drop a line to announce the return of Devan, our skinny little whip-ass drummer.  We are throwing him a big party at the Corner Lounge on Friday October 19th.  If you live in the Knoxville area, please help us spread the word and come out to show him some love!  See you all there we hope.  Look for more band news and show dates to be announced soon.  Take care.

Hey there everyone!  With the upcoming release of our new album this Tuesday, we have decide to digitally offer individual tracks for downloading to you.  I know we are a few years behind with this, but better late than never!  As of Tuesday tunes from the new album will be available.  You will soon be able to find our storefront on our profile page.  Feel free to paste one on your page as well.

For those of you in the Knoxville area, make your plans to be at the Corner Lounge (located on Central one block north of Broadway) next Friday the 11th for one kick ass CD release party!  The show will start at 10 with our friends Holidaysburg from Orlando and we will go on after.  We hope to see all of you there.  We have a brand new show for you in addition to the new album, new t-shirts, and more!  You won't want to miss this show!  We hope to see you there.

The show is sponsered by WUTK's Locals Only program which highlights the many talented acts here n Knoxville and East Tennessee in general.  Please tune in Tuesday night around 9pm to hear us on the air playing some tunes and pimping our album.  You can also keep your eyes open for some local press coverage throughout the next week.  There is an article in the current issue of the Knoxville News-Sentinal's Preview section and there are more to come in the Maryville Daily Times, Knoxville 520.com, and more.

This is a very exciting time for us and we hope to have a chance to share it with you.  We will be taking off on an east coast tour right after the release.  Please keep in touch to see if your town is going to be on our route!  Take care.

"Holy shit!," exclaimed aspiring rock band.

We are opening for CAKE!  That's the good news.  Bad news I am just now posting a blog for a show that will be happening in less that 18 hoursThis means drop you had planned for this Friday night and make immediate arrangements to make it out to Volapalooza 2007 at FIJI Island (UT campus) for this awesome FREE show.  Plan A kicks it all off at 8pm and stick around afterward for CAKE.  This is certainly our biggest show to date and we hope you will all come out to support some independant rock.

In other news.....

Hows that for advance notice, baby!?!  You know this is going to be one KICK ASS party!  After alot of hard work it's finally time to get drunk and celebrate the latest Plan A release.  We hope you all show up at the Corner and party till the walls fall down!  Tell your friends and neighbors.  Hell, tell strangers and your enemies, too.  See you all very soon.
