Hey guys, Jennifer here.  Hope you're all enjoying your first day of Thanksgiving Break - when I was in school, we only had 2 days off, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, boo.

This week we just have one program - it's Design a Tile at Veterans Memorial today, Monday November 23, at 3:30.  I hope to see many of you there - the good tiles will be put up in the Teen Space for a while, so make sure you don't miss out on this opportunity!

Veterans Memorial has TAG this Wednesday 11/18 from 3-4, then STARS training from 4-5.  What's STARS?  Glad you asked - it's Student Teens Advising Rookie Students.  Basically, it's for teens who want to tutor children.  It's a great way to give back to the community, so I hope to see lots of you there!

Hey guys, Jennifer here.  This week we're trying something new after school - Design-A-Tile!  We've got some ceiling tiles at each branch, and I'll be bringing paints around to let you guys go wild in designing and painting your very own tile.  The winners (aka best ones) at each branch will be displayed in the Teen Space.  Sound cool?  Here's the schedule:

Monday 10/26 6:30-8:30 @ Hart Memorial Central - Twilight Party!  Visit the Library for all things Twilight! Dress up as favorite Twilight vampires, play Twilight trivia games, and win awesome Twilight prizes!

Friday 10/30 7:00-10:30 @ Veterans Memorial (St. Cloud) - MEGA Twilight party!  The movie will be shown during the program, and the Blood Mobile will be parked outside the Library for anyone who wants to donate blood.  Also, THE TWILIGHTERS will be playing!

Hey guys, Jennifer here.  This week is National Teen Read Week, as determined by the American Library Association and the Young Adult Library Services Association.  I'm strongly encouraging you to read something for fun this week.  I know you all have such busy lives, but reading for fun is really important.  So pick up a book, graphic novel, magazine, even the cereal box, and take some time to read this week.

In honor of Teen Read Week, I'm doing a special program at each library celebrating reading.  Here's the schedule:

Monday 10/19 @ Hart Memorial Central, 3:30-4:30
Tuesday 10/20 @ Poinciana, 3:30-4:30
Wednesday 10/21 @ Veterans Memorial, 4-5
Thursday 10/22 @ Buenaventura Lakes, 3:30-4:30

We'll hang out, talk about good books/graphic novels, and I might even be able to find some coffee drinks for us to have.

We also have Teen Advisory Group this week.  If you're interested in volunteering your time, visit the Veterans Memorial library at 3 pm on Wednesday.  We'll be talking about different volunteer opportunities coming up.
