We've gotten a lot of fan mail lately asking about the release date of our upcoming full-length album, "The Art of War". So here's the latest update.

Adam and I have been working on this new release for the last year and a half. To be fair, in that time, we've actually written a TON of new material, and we basically have been pouring through it all, figuring out what worked and what didn't (at one point we pulled a total Dethklok and scrapped the whole recording and started over from scratch!) During this time I was also involved in the making of the Beatles and Lego Rock Band games coming out this year, which unfortunately consumed much of my time (10 to 12 hour days, six days a week can be a major time suck), and Adam's job as a tech VP at a certain anonymous global corporate behemoth leaves him barely able to come up for air. On top of that, we're currently going through some major personnel changes to our live shows... No easy task...

To our fans, we apologize. Trust us when we say that we wish we didn't need to have day jobs, and could spend our lives making the rock fury, touring and causing general mayhem. That said, our every available free minute has been spent on making what we feel are our best recordings to date. And if all continues to go as planned, you'll all see for yourselves in September. We'll also be giving our website and My Space page much needed face-lifts to tie in with the new album.

Anyway, on to the GOOD STUFF... In appreciation for all of your support and patience we will be releasing an all-new song for FREE DOWNLOAD starting on Sunday, June 28th on both our website and our My Space page. Let us know what you think!

As always, Yours in Rock,

Adam and Keith

Greetings from the Anarcave, deep beneath the urban metropolis of Boston, MA. There's a lot to talk about, so I won't waste any time...

Our new cd E.P., "A Single Drop of Red" is being tightened up and polished as we speak, and will be out shortly after Halloween. It features four all new unreleased songs, "Collide" (from GH2), and six kick ass, tripped out remixes of songs from "The Way and its Power". We'll also be releasing it at a budget price (under $10 US). So the wait is almost over. Thank you all for your timeless support and endless patience...

Now  to finally answer the OTHER big question I've been hearing a lot these days... Anarchy Club WILL NOT be featured in Guitar Hero 3. We WILL be in featured in Rock Band, however. Here's the story behind this-

I work for Harmonix, the company that created and made Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 360, and the 80's Expansion Pack. The goal (and history of the company) is to make games that make music an interactive experience for gamers, and to make games and music more accessible. Before the GH series we did games like Amplitude and the Karaoke Revolution series.

After Red Octane, the publisher (the people who put a game out  AFTER a developer MAKES the game) was bought by Activision, Red Octane and Harmonix parted ways, and Red Octane kept the name Guitar Hero. Shortly after, Harmonix was bought by MTV. This allowed us to have a substantially larger budget to work with, as well as access to all major and indie labels for obtaining original tracks and song rights.

With new doors open, Harmonix stepped forward on creating the game we'd always wanted to make, but didn't have the resources for. That game is Rock Band, a single player/ multiplayer game that allows the player/s to play guitar, drums, bass, or sing, either solo, or with friends in a virtual band. Having worked on this game for some time now, I assure you it will ROCK YOUR WORLD!!!

Anyway, as Red Octane and Harmonix were no longer collaborating (with Harmonix designing/ making GH, and Red Octane distributing it and making the guitars) , they moved the game development over to the Neversoft team, famous for the Tony Hawk games. They didn't ask any of the Harmonix bands back for GH3, either. So there'll be no Anarchy Club, Bang Camaro, Freezepop, Acrobrats, Vagiant, etc, on GH3. All of these bands, however, will be featured in Rock Band, and you'll be able to play ALL the musical parts, not just the guitars!! And it even has a Character Creator, so you can make your own personalized rockstar/ revolutionary/ bad ass.

To all of our fans who discovered us through the Guitar Hero games, we apologize that we're not on GH3, but we weren't invited. Hopefully we'll see you all online with Rock Band in late November when it comes out. The Anarchy Club song featured in Rock Band is a brand new one from our upcoming E.P. "A Single Drop of Red". I plan on taking the top scores on the leaderboards. And yes, that IS an open challenge...

Ever Chaotically Yours,

Keith

The following is a translation of a Japanese Bio/ Review of Anarchy Club from The Japanese site music-islands.com (Excuse any typos. I copied it straight from the source)-

The snake modern lock with 2 human groups of Adam's and Kith. American Boston departure.

A certain night, as for this cover [ri] after seeing the kung fu movie, in [gutenguten] Being intoxicated, the town of the night when you have loitered, the body of a Japanese woman while guard firing the [bashibashi] gun, the car in the place where it has chased being involved, it met to the awful eye.

One evening, as for the cover [ri]  which is thrown into the detention room, that the band will begun decided. But the story which does not know (whether lie whether true

Obtaining wax [katsuchiyo] the [ro] it does well, heavy modern rock

They seem to have gotten the facts right- Kung Fu movies, alcohol, cops, and car chases were involved, as well as female Japanese bodyguards, and gunfights. And it was night time and we were loitering around. But they lost me with the "...it met to the awful eye..." part. Adam speaks japanese, though... Maybe he can figure it out...

As always- Chaotically Yours,

Keith

Last weekend I went to a three day Kung Fu conference in Connecticut. As you may know, Kung Fu, much like rock music, muscle cars, and skateboards, kicks massive ass!! I (along with four other students from my Kung Fu school) was kindly invited by one of our schools generous teachers. The whole thing was put together by Grand Master (Sifu) Hu Jiangqiang of the Shaolin Wushu Center in Connecticut. Along with being one of the world's best martial artists, he also co-starred with Jet Li in his first three films, The first being the cult classic, "Shaolin Temple". Many of the world's best showed up for the event, including members of the official Wushu Team of China. But the main draw (for me anyway), was the special guest appearance of Gordon Liu. Mr. Liu is best known these days in the States for his most recent movie roll, the mean spirited white bearded Kung Fu master, Pai Mei in Kill Bill Volume 2. But to Kung Fu movie fans he's a legend, and superstar of some of the best Kung Fu movies the legendary Shaw Brothers studios ever made. He's one of my childhood heroes (and the inspiration for our song, "Shaolin"). He's the original movie Shaolin monk, and second only to Bruce Lee in the 70's. He's the reason why the Wu Tang Clan is called the Wu Tang Clan (They got the name, as well as most of their samples, from one of his films.). Oh yeah, and he's also a totally bad ass motherfucker!!!

Anyway, on to the good stuff- After being stuck in five and a half hour congested traffic for what should have been an hour and a half drive, we arrive at this Super 8 motel that seemed time warped from the fifties. The whole place was decorated in throwback rock and roll memorabilia, and framed, autographed pictures of long dead celebrities. The lady at the desk was about as charming as a cold, jagged rock, so we all just grabbed our room keys and went to change for the first of three nights worth of bad ass Kung Fu action.

That night was a special two hour performance by all the visiting masters and various bad asses. I've been to a lot of these performances, but this was one of the better ones. For two hours I watched amazing people do amazing things with their bodies and various instruments designed to kill. People were kicking, punching, flipping, and flying all over the place in ten to one battles, and various other scenarios. No wires, no special effects, just mad skills. And nobody got hurt. (Well, actually, one guy from China broke two fingers doing this really high sideways kick/ aerial cartwheel where you land on your side, but he played it off, ending his performance by jumping into the air and running across the heads of a large, standing group of would be attackers and taking them all out with a broadsword in the process. REALLY!! At another event I saw last year, a kid got hit in the head with a sledgehammer and tried to play it off until blood started pouring down his face and he started to pass out.) Anyway, these people weren't playing around. though everything was meticulously rehearsed, they still were using real weapons really fast against real attacks. And it was amazing.

For the final performance, the legendary Gordon Liu came out and did a really cool move set from the Hung Gar style. It was awesome to see him up close, and in the flesh, but I was bummed because I never got a chance to talk to him.

The next day was an eight hour tournament where people from all over the world came to compete. I slept in late, and made my way there about halfway through. The tournament was cool, but the auditorium was hot and smelled like the sweat of a thousand ass kickings. Most of the people there were fairly chill, but there's always the jocky wanna be tough guy factor as well, straight off the bad guy team from "Karate Kid". The funny thing is those guys usually suck, but often think they're the shit, when in reality, they're just shitty. But hey, if it weren't for guys like that, the good guys would have no one to beat up, right?

That night we were all invited to a private dinner. My senior teacher had been asked by a local Boston paper to interview the honorable Mr. Liu, and as a surprise, allowed me to tag along. I sat across the dinner table playing cool, secretly having flashbacks of being 12 years old and the only non Chinese person in some old run down Chinese movie theatre in Chinatown that smelled like a musty attic and stale popcorn, as I quietly read the subtitles and dreamt of living out the high flying martial arts adventures of the man who now sat before me in the here and now. After the interview, he asked me if I was enjoying the weekend. I was psyched, and told him so, and for an instant the fanboy kid in me came out. He and I started talking about Kung Fu and his movies. I'd told him I'd heard he liked hard rock, and then I gave him an Anarchy Club cd. His eyes lit up and he started talking about cool music, and his recording studio. I was wearing a Guitar Hero t-shirt, and he told me he'd played the game and thought it was cool. We discussed how martial arts, just like music, was rooted in having a proper rhythm. And how in the end, in music and fighting, an excellent sense of timing is essential. (Without good timing and rhythm your band sucks and you get your ass kicked, bottom line.) He said that for him, music and martial arts feed the spirit, and I agreed. We ended up hanging out for an hour or so, and after that we all went back to the hotel. When I got back to the room "The Matrix- Reloaded" was on tv, so I watched the fights with Seraph, and then the hundred agents, and went to sleep.

Which brings us to the final day- It was a warm Sunday, and a bunch of the attending masters were giving seminars, including Gordon Liu.(Brief history lesson- He is the seventh generation of the original creator/ master of the Hung Gar style, and fifth generation from the styles most famous master, Wong Fei Hong, made famous by Jet Li in the "Once Upon A Time in China" series, and by Jackie Chan in "Drunken Master" 1 and 2.) And it turned out I'd been accepted into his class!!! I was gonna learn Kung Fu from "Pai Mei"!! I was psyched, and when we first got there, he was psyched to see me as well!!

He jumped right in to teaching cool techniques and their applications in combat. On the other side of the gym another class on a beautiful performance form was taking place. He looked over at them, and then, turning back to us, said, "... performance forms are pretty, but they do no good in a fight. Hung Gar is not beautiful, but it is VERY effective..." and proceeded to teach an uninterrupted three hour, hardcore class. He taught each of us one on one, taking the time to make sure everyone got it. Inside of two hours we were sparring and using the new techniques, and by the end of the third, we were unstoppable fighting machines!!! He'd primarily used Hung Gar in all his movies, so it was awesome to actually be learning from the man who'd introduced me to it all so many years before.

After the class we all hung out for a little while, and he showed us a little more stuff on the side. Apparently he liked the Anarchy Club cd, because he invited me to China to start a Kung Fu band!! (Maybe I can get him to play on the next cd!!) As it all wound down we eventually said our goodbyes, then we gathered everyone from my school up, and headed back to town. And on the ride home, the 12 year old I once was smiled inside me. And the man I am today sang, (army chant style) "...I hung out with Gordon Liu!!!... And he taught me some Kung Fu!!!..." all the way home. Well, at least until I was asked to shut up...

...And so ends the story of "The Cool Tutelage of Pai Mei"...

Keith

PS- I posted some pictures as well. Check 'em out!!!

Hello, and welcome to the authentic, official Anarchy Club page!!! Accept NO substitutes!!!

It was brought to our attention that there were a number of people pretending to be us on My Space, which is grossly unfair to you, the fans, as well as incredibly weak regarding the poser impostors (and it made me want to go on a road trip, bring an economy sized can of whoop ass, and blow some shit up!!). As honored as I am that people like us so much that they want to "be" us, it bothers me that they'd try to crash our party and steal our fire. To these false "Anarchists" I say- START YOUR OWN FUCKIN' BAND!!!

Adam and I busted our asses to write/ produce/ record/ and release "The Way and its Power" (which, for the record, was recorded entirely in his living room!!) because we heard this music in the darkest corners of our sweetest dreams, lurking in the shadows of our souls. And we wanted to share it with anyone that would listen, and everyone that understood. During this time I was also working on a little game called Guitar Hero and a bunch of my co-workers at Harmonix that were Anarchy Club fans suggested that we submit a song to the game. We submitted three. And in the end "Behind The Mask" was picked to be in the game. Shortly after Guitar Hero was released we started selling the cd from our website. No ads. No hype. Just word of mouth.

...Which brings us to now. Guitar Hero's been out for about six months and we've been getting e-mails from all over the world from people that listened, and understood. So I guess we did something right... And I guess we're not alone.

In June I start working on Guitar Hero 2, and people are already asking for more songs, which works out fine. There's been strange things lurking in my dreams again... and they need to come out...

Anyway, I'd just like to say "Welcome to our My Space page." Thanks for coming, and for being our friends. But more importantly, thanks for listening, and for understanding...

Chaotically Yours,

Keith
