Hey people, check this stuff out... Nora side projects in action!

TORCHBEARER- myself, our long-time roadie Sam, and several other excellent dudes have formed a band and taken the name from our(Sam/myself) old project band... it rips in a style reminiscent of the more discordant Nora stuff, mixed with some other stuff. 7 Song ep in the works (currently getting pressed)..here are some shows.. check out 2 of the unmastered tracks at:

http://www.myspace.com/torchbearer

Current mood:  excited
..as some of you may know, Nora is on a hiatus of sorts, while we all do things like "get married", "have jobs", "hang out with our kids", and so forth. Because I'm an overachiever, I started a project called TORCHBEARER with our former roadie Sam (he also spent a long while on the road with Burnt by the Sun, and has played guitar for a couple of notable Jersey bands, including the Low End Theory), Dan and Amit from Mother Night/Hellhole, and CJ, who serves time in a number of great bands including Hellhole and RSO. We're finishing up the recording for a 7-song ep, and will be playing our first show next week on 9/19 at the Court Tavern with For the Love Of (featuring Mike O. singing, amazing). If you'd like to hear what we're doing, check it out:

These are two of the songs, unmastered.

Come out to the show if you can, take a listen, and if you're into it hit "add", so I can annoy you regularly with stupid things that amuse me!

Summer is here and we're having a blowout sale on our webstore! From May 15 to June 15 all CDs and DVDs on our webstore will be only $5. What? $5? Furrealz? Yes, for real. We want you to have the best soundtrack to summer possible, and that can only be done with the best music out there.

Wednesday, December 05, 2007

I think we've caught a little bit of the Holiday crazyness because we just SALEPRICED all of our CDs and DVDs to only $5! Are we nuts? Probably. Maybe we'll just blame Bob in acounting, or Susie in HR. Until then, and through December 31, take advantage and order some CDs and DVDs you've been wanting. Click here and tell a friend.

In order to guarantee a Trustkill Webstore order is shipped before Christmas, orders must be placed no later than DECEMBER 19. This does NOT however guarantee an order is DELIVERED by December 25, that depends on your location and shipping preferences. Thanks and Happy Holidays from the Trustkill Crew!

...mostly because in all of the hectic daily pace of a bunch of old-dude lives ,I actually forget that myspace exists. In this day and age, apparently that's like forgetting to breathe. Ah well...

Anyway, som brief notes so ya'll know what's going on in Camp Nora...new jobs (me and steve) have been the order of the day, but we found some time to record a Seaweed cover for an upcoming complilation on Engineer Records. It came out great, although it sounds very little like a Seaweed song now that we got our grubby little hands on it. There are going to be a lot of great bands on it, including my other band The Fire Still Burns, so swing on over to the Engineer myspace page and check it out!

For those who have written, yes, we know...we're having some "issues" with out main website. It'll be back soon enough. In the meantime, you can still contact us here, and our webstore is still up for that whole Xmas rush thing. Plus, if you don't have it yet, you can get a copy of our new record SAVE YOURSELF through the trustkill site!

Also, House is still awesome. Thank the heavens for a show that hasn't jumped the shark yet...

In other news, my studio is up and running, and I just finished my first "band that I'm not in" project here in this house, if you're a Jersey local looking to record a demo, drop me a line!

...where all is work work work work work , except for our once a week practices to keep in shape until everyone gets back from work/vacation/ rehab for crystal meth addiction (no, wait, that's not right...). We're currently working on a cover of Seaweed's "Clean Slate" for a tribute comp. being put out by Engineer records. Both Nora and my other band, The Fire Still Burns are going to be on it, and if I'm very lucky, they'll be the first two songs that I record in my new studio space. For those who don't remember, well, I moved. Financial ruin will do that to a guy. Anyway, if you're a band looking to do a demo, and you're in/around Jersey, drop me a line. I'm going to start doing some weekend recording for fun and some slight profit (like "buy me a sandwich" profit), so if you're interested, drop me a line. Nora will be playing some shows shortly, as will TFSB, so keep an eye out for some show postings for both bands.

In other news, I'm getting anxious, as it looks like september will be the month of presents for the drummer (that's me!) If you're of the drum-nerd type, go over and check out SHINE DRUMS . great dudes, great roster of bands, great drums!
And, as a final note..go buy our new record, "Save Yourself". You can go and get it at the trustkill site! Then, go over to our Webstore and buy a nice shirt/hoodie/hat/belt buckle/etc. for back to school! :)

Oh, and also...I saw a preview for the new version of Halloween. Why isn't it being released on Halloween? Hmm. Either it's the dumbest marketing move ever, or they'll release the DVD on Halloween, and it'll be the smartest marketing technique ever. Mark my words, so that when I say "TOLD YOU SO! THE MAN IS EVERYWHERE!" you'll know what I'm talking about.

Ok, first and foremost, as always, thanks for signing on if you just did...as always, we appreciate your interest and concern in our semi-pathetic (but still fun) happenings as a band and as dudes! :0

If you haven't gotten our new record yet, well...what the f- are you waiting for? Jump over to the trustkill site and order it, we'll make Josh drive it to your house. Heck, people even took pictures of me for this one..but they're not on the record, of course. Still, if you're a reader (and you should be), keep an eye out for us popping up in various music-related magazines over the next couple of months, and then write and tell us how pretty we are. Speaking of writing...it looks like I'm going to be doing a bi-monthly (that's every OTHER month, in this case...I think) feature in AMP magazine and combining my work with my music to write some book reviews. So..before I start shit-talking, if there's anything you've read that you'd like me to get ahold of and review, feel free to send me suggestions! Also, if you're an AP reader, look for an upcoming issue with book reviews, where I (among other people) tell you what's important. Ater all... if you can't trust me, who the hell can you trust?

Enough self-promotion. In band news, Steve and I both got laid off in unrelated job-sucking incidents. Hire us. We're currently working on learning and recording a Seaweed cover for an upcoming comp. on Engineer Records (check them out, great jersey dudes with a host of sweet bands, including the other band I'm in, The Fire Still Burns). Of course, since we are who we are, I"m sure no one will recognize it after the twists and turns we put it through...but, I blame seaweed for that. After all, it's their fault for not writing a song that sounds like us! ;)

Carl is out on a bunch of the dates of Sounds of the Underground. If you see him, approach him, and tell him that the rest of his dudes want him to hurry uup and come home so we can get out and play some shows.

And...that's it for now. I have important things to do on the internet now, like "read Lambgoat messageboard" and "look for porn on the net of people that I know.".
