Another Demise
I think that about sums it up

Well, it's been 500+ plays, 2 bands (disbanded) and several weeks since my last post
So I figure, why not?

The Story of Counting on Jane:  Rise and Fall
For those that might not know, I was invited to join Counting on Jane.  Basically, I would provide an extra instrument for all the songs that needed them, etc.  Anyway, the band no longer exists.  Friendships in ruin, schedules demolished, you get the picture.  The worst part is watching it all disappear before your eyes.  As a person brought in just a few weeks before the axe fell, that was the hardest part.  Watching the unhappy faces struggle through, and the uncomfortable silence.  Was it me?  Could it not be discussed around me, an outsider?  I don't know.  Either way, I shouldn't discuss it.  I would give anything to keep those relationships intact.  But there's no way to fix the foundations without building the house all over again.  The hurricane is over, the rebuilding begins.

So begins a new chapter, yet unwritten. There will always be The Furries, until I get kicked out (again... haha).  FURRIES FO' LIFE!   I don't know where I'm headed, only where I've been.  It's time to put aside all insecurities and try to make something for myself, I've spent too much time relying on other people for direction.

Gravity Lounge:  3:00 P.M.
15 minutes to showtime, the first time all day i'm actually nervous.  Wow... wish that had come sooner.  Yeah.  It sucks.  So, that's always lots of fun.  We got Marigene to introduce us and The Mango Jones Triumvrate is on it's way to stardom.  Ok, not really. Here's the setlist:

1.)  Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
-It's always good to play harmonica when your harmonica collar is sideways.  That sucked...
2.)  Good To Me
-As long as I live, i will never again do this song.  Ever.
3.)  One Foot In The Grave
-I got confused at first, but eventually I got over it and i think it turned out pretty well.
4.)  Knockin' On Heaven's Door
-Dedicated to Andy and Matt(e).  Also, I thought it was pretty good.  One of the highlights of the show.
5.)  Karma Police.
-I probably messed up on this one, but I don't really remember.  The whole show was a blur.  I think I saw someone in the front filming it.  Can't say I know the guy, unfortunately.  I'd like to have a copy on it.  Maybe he put it up on YouTube??? (don't get my hopes up)  For those of you in the know, I forgot the second verse.  I mean, I intentionally skipped it.  Word.
6.)  Seven Nation Army.
-Give it up for Teeter, ladies and gentlemen.  That man was on fire (fiya!).  This one was fine too.  Didn't have a major problem with this one, except my hands were sweaty and I couldn't work the mic stand.  That sucked.
7.)  Phat Tuesday.
-True to the orignal.  We added a drum solo at the end.  Jack dropped a stick.  Calm down over thur, Jack.  Can't complain though, cuz I dropped my pic.

At the end of the show, Jack's dad yelled for one more.  I promtly responded that we didn't actually know any more songs.  Counting On Jane blew us away, so, yeah.  You go guys.  We saw Dave Matthews when we were loading equipment.  That was fairly funny.  I thought Jack noticed it, but apparently he didn't.  Very funny moment.

Also, the counter on the Mango Jones MySpace is dangerously close to 500 plays.  The user that gives us the 500th play gets a hot fudge sundae (offer void in the continental U.S., Canada, Lithuania, Belgium, and anywhere else i don't care about).  I had a blast at the show, but now i'm tired.  Time for bed.  Peace.

                                  Yours Truly,
