It's been a couple of months since we have had something worthy or a hefty update and here it is.  We have a new repress of a Brainworms record.  News on upcoming releases, new distro additions and more stuff.  Be sure to also check out our facebook.  That is being updated more frequently and becoming more relevant.

First Up:

We have a Brand New Pressing of the Brainworms Tubers Split in our store.  This duder is available on white vinyl limited to 400 copies!

Here is what we said about it last year-
Saint Augustine, Florida in the summertime can be a magical place. A weekend spent there can create twenty years good memories hanging out in the hot Floridian sun with your friends. One moment you're hanging out at your friend's lake house drinking beers doing relay races and in a snapshot, you're playing volleyball cockfighting style on a tarp wet, slippery from dish detergent. For the working man, the summer season is over. Somewhere deep within the northern woods, a trail crew is wrapping up its season with a final all night from dusk 'til dawn rager. Multiple handles of Jack are consumed; PBR freely flow out of cans into mouths, hair, and the ground. People exploit tiki-torches to spit fire igniting a gasoline-..soaked chair nestled in the middle of a yet to be started bonfire. Young men and women with shaved mohawks are burning things they don't need anymore like clothing, equipment, and/or facial hair. This is one of those parties where drunk people with an acute attraction for wrestling and making a lot of noise get sweaty with pick axes. Young people are getting weird in the woods and not thinking about tomorrow. As the summer fades to fall, Brainworms sets up to be the houseband. The underground railroad from St. Augustine to Richmond, VA finally comes to listeners in the form of Tuber's split with the almighty Brainworms. Having years of friendship and numerous 12 hour drives built up over time, it only seems natural to have these two bands come together to commemorate friendship and make peace with alligators, whatever that means." --Jeff Beyers

You can score copies of this on White Vinyl from Rorschach and Bakery Outlet!!!

Secondly some news on upcoming releases

The Snacktruck Spacial Findings 1-7 CD should be available come Best Friends Day.  This will probably be one of the last CDs we do for awhile but feel that this record is so good in its entirety that it is totally worth putting on cd.  There record is already available on Itunes, if you haven't checked out Snacktruck out, visit them here

Ultra Dolphins have finished their new full length with Steve Roche(..Brainworms, Pink Razors, The Catalyst, every Richmond band, ect.)  This record should be getting mastered in the next couple weeks and we will drop a track around then!  Expect this on LP sometime this fall, Exotic Fever will be handling the CD version.

Field DayThis band Fucking Rules!  One of the best new bands in Richmond as of late we liked them so much that a 7" is in the works, regardless if you have heard of them or not.  They will be going up North to play a few dates next month and record with Steve Roche.  Expect some version of this 7" out by the Fest.  If you like Snacktruck, Brainworms, and Antlers, Field Day falls right in the middle of all of those bands, check them out here!

Also you can expect new pressing of the Mouthbreather/..EYC split and Brainworms II: Swear to Me LP by the end of the year.

Keeping up with the digital age we have started to put our entire catalog on Itunes, Amazon, Emusic, ect.  At the current moment you can score the following releases:

As usual we are months behind on when we think stuff is going to happen but that doesn't ever stop us.  We are super stoked to announce that we are now taking pre-orders for our 2 newest releases Brainworms II Swear To Me LP and The Mouthbreather/Environmental Youth Crunch Split 7".  Also the next 3 people who spend $50 or more in our online store will receive a free test press of Brainworms II!  All 3 of these bands will be playing the Harvest of Hope in St. Augustine next month and should have copies of these records.

Brainworms II
Swear To Me
After numerous splits, compilations, and tapes Brainworms have created Brainworms II: Swear To Me. Comprised of 10 tracks recorded by Steve Roach(Pink Razors, Off Minor, Armalite, ect.), Swear to Me is a cohesive album in which Brainworms have been building up to in the past couple of years. Brainworms have kept up their unique style of hardcore on this album that is catchy yet still keeps integrity in the vein of bands such as Rites of Spring/Embrace, Assfactor 4, and At The Drive In. For those not familiar with the bands these guys have spent time in bands such as Stop It, Snacktruck, and Landmines and this is the 2nd record featuring new guitarist Josh Small. The layout of this record was crafted out of clay by Drew Liverman, who designed Brainworms' previous LP Which is Worse. This record also includes a digital download of the entire album.

This Record comes on 2 color options
200 on Black Vinyl
400 on Sky Blue Vinyl

You can purchase them individually or both for $20 in our online store.

You can check out the first track off of Swear to Me on Brainworms Myspace here and here

Also for the first time ever we are giving out test presses or a record.  The next 3 people to spend $50 or more in our online store will receive a free copy of the test press of Swear to Me featuring this great cover that is reminiscent of a certain other band's 2nd Album

Mouthbreather
Environmental Youth Crunch
Split 7"
Florida and Richmond Round 2, this time we have paired Richmond's Mouthbreather and Florida's Environmental Youth Crunch for one of our best splits yet. Spread out in the Northern part of Florida and sharing members with Tubers and Alligator, EYC have managed to drop 3 solid tracks of punk rock that lies somewhere in between traditional pop punk bands and Plan-It-X South bands. On the flip side Mouthbreather debut their first 2 new tracks since last years Thank You For Your Patience. These gentlemen were born from Wow Owls and The Set Up and play a form of hardcore similar to late 80's Dischord and Hot Snakes. This record was beautifully illustrated by Tyler Thomas and includes a digital download.

This records is available on 3 different color options
100 on White Vinyl
200 on Orange
200 on Black

You can purchase them individually or all 3 for $13 in our store.

Finally after months of talking about the Snacktruck 7" is out thanks for everyone's patience in waiting for this record it rules and defiantly worth the wait.

Here is what we said about it a couple weeks ago:

Snacktruck combines elements of prog, math rock and a lot more, Snacktruck have created a sound like none other in Richmond. Using two drummers to create a cohesive percussion section that is not to be fucked with. On this particular recording Snacktruck consist of members of Richmond's Ultra Dolphins and VCR. The combined heavy-hitters of RVA draw the weirder qualities of each of its members predecessors and stirs the pot into producing crucial songs. This record will easily stay on your turntable if you are stoked on bands like Battles, Russian Circles and Don Cab.

We have been blessed with a new pressing of the Brainworms/Dynamite Arrows Split 7". This time we did it on Pink Vinyl but like the swampy looking ones of the last press we got some weird mixes of colors. The Breakdown looks like this

287 on Pink Vinyl
9 on Pink/Purple Swirl
4 on Purple Burst

For once we are able to put a couple of the Pink/Purple Swirl ones in our store. These are super limited to so don't wait around on them. Also one of these Purple Burst ones will go out on the house to the next person to spend $15(a super low price) or more in our online store.

Here is what we said about this record:

Richmond's Brainworms and Brooklyn's Dynamite Arrows team up together for this raging record. Brainworms bring forth 2 new songs recorded at Minimum Wage the same time as last year's split with the Catalyst. The tracks are arguably the bands most technically and interesting work yet. Dynamite Arrows drop two bomb pop punk tracks on this record. They have been rippin' it up in Brooklyn for some time now playing some of the catchiest pop punk that you can point a beer in the air to.

and here is what other people said

In other news we are super stoked to announce that Brainworms just finished recording a new full length expect that to be out by the end of the year or earlier next year. Mouthbreather just finished their side of the split 7" with Environmental Youth Crunch which hopefully will be out in some format by the Fest. First off we are super stoked to announce that the first track, Presence Charm off of Snacktruck's new record Spacial Findings has been posted online. Spacial Findings is going to be released as a 4 song 7" by us, and a 3 song 10" by the Perpetual Motion Machine. We will also be releasing a cd collecting all the songs from both records. Snacktruck are a Richmond band that play heavy, progish rock and uses 2 drummers that create a crucial percussion unitl. Members on this particular recording have played in or are in bands such as VCR and ULTRA DOLPHINS. If you like bands like Russian Circles, Don Cab, and Battles you will be stoked on this.

We have two new releases that came in this week. If you have pre-ordered these records they have either shipped or are shipping this afternoon

Brainworms/Tubers Split 7"

The underground railroad from St. Augustine to Richmond, VA finally comes to listeners in the form of a split between Tubers and the almighty Brainworms. Brainworms unleash two tracks on their 3rd split 7" in a year, one being Jays Big Date which is the zingiest of zingers yet by the band and the debut of Josh Small on guitar with the band. Track two is a cover of Rites of Spring - For Want Of, recorded at the same time as the live side of Which is Worse. Tubers, who have circuited the Florida punk scene in bands one might call spastic hardcore such as Twelve Hr. Turn, Solid Pony, and Environmental Youth Crunch, find a mellower spot to sit while not letting aggressive tendencies completely fall by the wayside. Tubers are the perfect complement for a party that wants to let loose, have fun, and, you know, maybe get a little weird on the dance floor and they do a Lemonheads cover. You can preview tracks for this record here

This Record is a split with Bakery Outlet and Dead Tank. Each label has a different color vinyl here is the breakdown

100 - Clear(Bakery Outlet)
100 - Gold(Dead Tank)
100 - Green(Rorschach)
300 - Black(all 3)

Due to some error there were some misprints in the Zine accompanying the BFD 6 Comp.

-First off the labels on the zine where done by Erin Tobey who did a spectacular job on them. She has a lot of work you can view at www.hellomermaid.com

-Secondly Jerry Guiles laid out the zine during his birthday weekend so he forgot to mention that while doing it.

-We just finished printing all 500 jackets last week and it would not of been possible without the following people's help: Bizhan Khodabandeh did the head work and saved our asses on this, Amanda Khodabandeh, Carrie Whitaker, Michael Backus, Jerry Guilies, and Jack Raney all gave a tremendous amount of help during the screening process.
