{A "Thank You" message from Jan Davis Guitar} When many people hear or see the words: YouTube, they assume it is nothing but thousands of videos with extremely short duration, that could be classified as silly, even childish submissions. These assumptions are true to a point, because this is basically how YouTube started. It has now become one of the most-viewed web sites on the Internet. Today, there is much more going on at YouTube than the original concept. Their MUSIC videos are now offering everything from solo artists to top music groups, submitted from nearly every country on this planet! For example: I am considered a solo music artist and I have received thousands of views, along with remarkable comments from viewers, telling me how much they enjoy my music, delivered with a most unusual video: "Gypsy From Andalusia," thanks to Rich Tamayo's great editing ability. Here's a link to view "Gypsy." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtJW5TnnVkE I love the idea that fans are viewing YouTube from around the world, listening to my mini-guitar concert and are encouraging me to make more music videos. To wrap up this blog, I want to say "Thank You" to YouTube.com and everyone out there who enjoy their Music videos, for this Internet giant has given me, along with other musicians and artists, a true worldwide venue for our musical abilities.

Kids are being killed by cars. Kids are being bitten by rabid dogs. They are drowning in water-related accidents. Many are unaware of safety measures when riding their bicycles or tricycles. Some children are not aware of the pain caused by a bumble bee sting.
I've been a guitarist, composer, singer and record producer for many years and have never come across, or worked on, such a delightful project for kids than the DVD entitled: "Bird Mommy's Readalong Storybook." I had the privilege of providing the background music for 16 fantastic stories, that kids absolutely adore, while they learn about some of life's hazards.
When Bird Mommy narrates her stories, children love listening to her and her vital messages. Even parents and grandparents stop, look and listen, for they know that kids between the ages of two to eight years are paying attention and learning from this animated miracle. Yes, children are now receiving these messages.
The Bird Mommy DVD is not only entertaining, it has many life-saving episodes along with educational material, and all the while, kids are glued to the monitor or cell phone videos, then ask to see the stories again and again!
Since kids, ages two through eight, are in their formative years, what a blessing it is to know these children now have something they can own and remember, always. It is vital that parents and grandparents view the Bird Mommy DVD.
As Dr. Phil stated in an interview with David Letterman:
"The only thing I fear is for my kid's safety."
All sixteen story titles are listed at the following web site and each story or rhyme carries a free sample preview at:
Thanks to all who have taken time to read my offering,
Jan Davis

Story behind the CD album:
"CONCERT BY THE SEA"
By Jan Davis Guitar
I wanted to compose something for people that would help them relax and ease their tension, by visualizing in my mind a lazy summer day at the beach, where most I've known go to cool off and let their troubles drift away. This was the motivation for writing "Summer Fantasy."
Then, remembering days past, I found myself seeing my beautiful little daughter, Laura, as she romped by the seaside, even taking little dips in the ocean and enjoying life at the beach to the fullest! This memory gave me the inspiration to write a song for her, entitled: "Laura by the Sea."
I wrote "Sunday Vagabond" as an up-tempo salute to 'beach bums' everywhere, just doing what they do best... bumming around the beach on Sundays!
Being a huge fan of the Spanish guitar and the way graceful Spanish dancers relate to the music, my minds-eye took me to the seaside cliffs of Spain and from this picture, I composed a song for all Spanish dancers entitled: "Gypsy From Andalusia."
"Classical Fandango" is one of my favorite compositions, inspired by my love of all classical music. This song is dedicated to all classical songwriters, past and present.
"Flamenco Futura" was co-written with all the love we could give this song. Donna and I wanted to tell the world, there is truly a future in store for the art of Flamenco guitar!
While kicking back on a gorgeous day at the beach, thinking about what I wanted to create as a partial theme for the CD album, a quiet calm from the ocean waves swept my thoughts to many of the women I love and cherish.
I had written a song for my sweet and lovely daughter, Laura, and decided to write a danceable, flowing guitar piece for my equally sweet and lovely granddaughter, "Christina Marie."
My thoughts took me to a dear, extraordinary woman, who always gave me a tremendous amount of inspiration and encouragement to continue with my craft. Her song is entitled: "Jessie's Theme."
Then, I was again swept away with thoughts of the most cherished love of my life, the one woman who has stuck with me through the 'roller-coaster' of life, with all of its ups and downs, is my wife, Donna, i.e.; "Donna de Oro," for she is my true soul mate.

Re: "I Loved You Too Much"
I composed this song, strictly from a man's point of view. After it's release, I was asked to serve as the USA national spokesman for abused women.
Partly based on the O.J. Simpson tragedy that befell Nicole Simpson, it occurred to me that a man can love a woman, if you want to call it 'love,' to the point it becomes an obsession. I believed this lyric had to be presented to the public, targeted to men with obsessive traits, such as extreme jealousy, anger, insecurity and whatever else may cause men to lash out, violently.
I want this song to continue to grab violent men's attention, to help prevent them from lashing out, in any way, toward the women they supposedly love.
"I Loved You Too Much" primarily contains questions a man could, should or would ask himself after committing a senseless act of violence. Hopefully, in asking, he would calm down and give himself the gonads to stop, think and say, "Am I loving her too much?"

In 1963 and 1964, there were many records released, based on TV themes. Back then, I was a big fan of "The Fugitive" TV series, and every time I heard the theme they used, I wanted to jump through the TV screen and show them how it could be improved with a more current pop instrumental sound that would grab their audience and make the series more memorable.
With this agenda, I decided to write and record my own guitar instrumental, entitled: "Fugitive." My co-writer, Lou Josie, and I wanted to make this the best-ever version by adding a little novelty hook by creating an opening with howling hound dogs to paint the picture of a fugitive running from the law. It worked! We presented the finished "Fugitive" to A&M Records and they released it immediately!
Soon after the initial release, a then-popular group, The Ventures, hopped on the bandwagon and released their own version, which caused my passion-filled "Fugitive" to drop off the current charts, and was quickly replaced by The Ventures version. Talk about being shot down! The only saving grace I got out of the whole issue was that I later learned their lead guitarist tried every method he could to duplicate my guitar sound and admitted to his drummer, Mel Taylor, that he could never duplicate my original sound.
Years later, the Sundazed Music label in New York, found my "Fugitive" and re-released it on CD to the public, along with 19 other selections of my guitar instrumentals they absolutely loved and entitled the new release: "Jan Davis - Boss Guitar." My kudos to Sundazed Music, known worldwide for their extensive catalogue aimed specifically for record collectors.

Jan Davis is definitely not the "New kid in town." In fact, he has learned from recent Google and other rating services that his flamenco guitar video, "Gypsy From Andalusia" is incredibly popular. The huge number of video views received daily on YouTube.com, and the comments left for his video, tell him that many of his new fans are decades younger!
Worldwide, music download sites are also jumping on the Jan Davis bandwagon, and are declaring, "This guy is HOT!" Jan's guitar works, spanning from the early 1960's to the present, are being downloaded from all of the major download websites, including: StoneTigerRecords.com, Apple.com/iTunes, eMusic.com, Napster.com, and at last count, more than 75 download sites! Jan Davis is presently the featured artist at: http://www.stonetigerrecords.com/
There is something to be said about the theory that "What is old, is now brand-new". Jan's 1960's to 1970's music is also featured on a new children's educational DVD! In "Bird Mommy's Readalong Storybook" for kids ages 2-8, he performs 16 of his famous all-instrumental guitar selections, which are used as the backdrop for each of Bird Mommy's stories and rhymes. This DVD is now online, with free sample video clips of all selections at: http://www.birdmommy.com
Jan says, "Bird Mommy's Storybook is the greatest gift, children ages two through eight years old, who speak any language, can possibly receive. They will learn to read and speak the English language, as they read along with Bird Mommy!"

After viewing Jay Leno's July 27th interview with Michael Moore, on the subject of NO Universal Health Care in the USA, I am appalled at what our government is NOT doing to help treat patients who desperately need, but cannot afford healthcare. I have personally been there, and faced bankruptcy in order to save my life, after a near-fatal heart attack.
Michael's documentary, "Sicko," tells the truth about what is actually going on in the United States. We should all be ashamed of ourselves that the health care situation continues to be put on a back burner.
We as Americans must stand up, NOW, and get behind and support Michael Moore, as I am doing,120%. Call, write and scream to your representatives in congress and senate. Please do not support any candidate who accepts funding from private health insurance companies, for they are the ones who are letting your fellow Americans, men, women and children, suffer needlessly, or die, because many of these folks cannot afford care or treatment.
Get behind Michael Moore with all of your strength, for he has the guts that most Americans do not. Go to: http://www.michaelmoore.com as I learned even more by visiting his website.
My personal thanks to all concerned citizens in the USA.
Jan Davis
