howdy

i was bored today and been itchin to put up another new song up from our forthcoming album, but since we're tryin to be a little more cognizant of how marketing and promoting a record goes i decided not to put one up until we get all the artwork done and the album release date is finalized

so, instead, i put up two songs from our past catalog of self indulgent noise generation

i threw up 'anthem', which was recorded a year or so ago and released on the 'sunflower' album, and i also loaded up 'load king' (pun shamefully intended), which was written and recorded almost a decade ago and came out officially on 'half speed ahead'

in a month or so we should have some brand new ones that we're stoked for y'all to hear, and around the same time we hope to have an animated video for 'raspberry' from the new album, which will be created start to finish from briar (president of the rebreather a.v. club and other extra curricular satellite clubs)

on a semi-related (and mostly-boring) note, we won't be doing too many local/regional summer shows for various reasons, but we are lined up to do two out of state multi-date music festivals in late summer and early fall, in montana and arkansas respectively, and will probably start gigging regularly again in september

and also, on a compleeeetely unrelated note, the song 'a nickel and a nail', as performed by o.v. wright, is sensational listening

last night www. c7radio. com streamed the new rebreather songs that we recorded last month, along with an interview with barley

for some folks everything worked fine and for some people the stream didn't start for them until about halfway through the broadcast

so, today at 6pm est the station will be playing the same broadcast for whomever missed it or would like to hear it again

i have yet to hear the final mixes, but word on the street is that they sound quite nice

i get to hear them tomorrow at rehearsal, or at home after rehearsal on a burnt cdr or something....one way or another i'm determined to lay my eardrums on some tracks

here's the first batch of pics from the studio last weekend

briar took about 200 or so (plus lotsa film footage) and here's a few of 'em

all the basic tracks are done (bass/drums/guitar) and were recorded live in one take

some guitar overdubs are added and a few more need to be slapped on the tracks

barley has about 1/3 to 1/2 the record done vocally

should be all wrapped up in the next few weeks

12 songs....10 originals and two covers...we don't know which songs will make the record and which will be used for compilations and b-sides and such

no subtitles cuz i'm lazy, sorry
