This Saturday night, please come and listen! My band will include many of the usual suspects[Marc Dantona, Bone Cootes, Jeffrey Luck Lucas, Mike Burns] as well as Jamin Bartin! Three Brand-New songs, and some new arrangements of older ones...

Porch Flies will play first, we'll play the middle set, and then my dear friends Marabelle Phoenix will be headlining, and they are a must-see- so please come and see us...

My friends,
Save the date now, this is going to be a beautiful and very special evening of music- and there will be copies and copies of the Ideal Hunter for the first time in public, all over the table!
I'm so honored to have some very special musical guests also performing:
Jeffrey Luck Lucas will start the night by slaying your sorrowful souls with beauty,
then the Pillars of Silence will sonorously seduce your sad boners off, [hey- it's a line from their song!]
then Wymond and His Spirit Children will take you to the holy mountain and expose your hearts to the fiercest winds and weather, fucking Jodorowsky style. Last, my wonderful bandmates and I will perform for you from the bottom of our hearts...

If you haven't checked out these musicians yet, I really recommend you do!

We're going to be celebrating the release of The Ideal Hunter! Do not miss this show.

July 10th
Cafe du Nord
2170 Market Street
San Francisco

Are you a hunter?

xoxo

My friend Serena Valentino, infamous, talented, and prolific, has written a new story in three parts for her comic series Nightmares and Fairy Tales using me as inspiration for the image of the mermaid. It's called Song of the Siren [issues 21-23] on Slave Labor Graphic Publishing. Illustrated so beautifully by Camilla D'Errico.
Issue 21 is officially out, but you'll have to wait for the other two until 2008.
If you havent read Serena's words before, or seen Camilla's paintings, you must:

Yes, the end of September is upon us again... That means special theme concerts abound at the Rite Spot, in honor of two wonderful friends, Jeffrey and Justin turning another year older. I'm very excited to be a part of it again this year, and I just had to write of my great pleasure in singing and playing some beautiful songs that are part of these fellows' musical upbringing: David Bowie's 'Lady Grinning Soul', King Crimson's 'Moonchild', and some other surprises by special request...
Join us if you're around, Sunday September 23rd, 8-Sharp at the Rite Spot in San Francisco. That's at 17th and Folsom. Don't be late...
The great joy of the evening will be in hearing so many wonderful interpretations of the songs of, in Jeffrey and Justin's words, 'Rock's Glamourous Years of 1967-77'. The two birthday boys will of course ignite the fire on the stage with their 'secret' song selections I won't mention here, and the other performers I know of include Astrid Zada, Derek Taylor, The Last of the Blacksmiths, Dame Satan, the Waxfire, and I'm sure some others as well. I've heard some costumes may even be donned...

It's called The Ideal Hunter, and thanks to Evangeline Records, a brilliant assemblage of musicians, and the endlessly patient ears of producer Sean Coleman, we've finished mixing and the release date won't be far away!
Stay tuned.
