............ ........
It’s been kept quite secret in the history jazz but django Reinhardt
had a travelling servant vet. After
django’s caravan burnt down and his hand was disfigured he went into
depression, took a few years out, refined his skill as a musician and went on
to become one of the best. A proper legend adored across the globe. This adoration seemed fulfilling but his complexities
got the best of him and something was missing.
Where ever he went people would go to meet him, their dogs would follow. He’d stay in houses with cats and parrots and
rodents to spare. One night he sat down
accidentally on a rabbit, broke its leg and had to retire to that bathroom to
relieve his ecstatic laughter pang. That
night in the prestigious ....Vienna....
concert hall was a sensation. The next
gigs were all of note but his sharpness was slipping.
On a whim one night in
morocco he bit the ear of a sleeping hawker’s lamb. The past glories were back. But with more ferocity. It became a compulsion for him. Everyday and animal had to be harmed. His discretion was going and he would snap,
gnaw and burn anything kept alive for amusement. This lead to predictable results and since he
was making good money, his manager hired a touring veterinarian.
.. ..
A brain haemorrhage took django in 1953. This was a bitter loss for the jazz world but
a terrific new beginning for the animal kingdom

you like prawn cocktail Mcoys yeah?
well KP can fuck right off and here's why...
about 5 years ago Heather got fed up with there being no prawn cocktail flavour of her favourite crisps and sent KP a letter asking why. they replied that they don't take suggestions from the public and gave her a few measly vouchers for some of the jaded, crappy old flavours.
then 18 months ago she started a facebook petition to get KP to budge and low and behold! we can buy them in the shops.
where are heathers royalties? probably funding robert mugabie or something
KP fuck right off.

Finally after many stuffy days recording and many more cursing at our computer we have the provisional mixes of our new EP! The myspace mix is not final but we are hoping to have a finished packaged product at some point in August so watch this space.
We're still toiling over a name for the EP - suggestions, general insults and constructive criticisms on all of the above welcome!

Melodicas, mouth organs and ukuleles are all really shit. If you absolutely must buy a cheap instrument, get a glockenspiel.
Also. Lap steels never enhance a song, Ever. They just make you sound like some shit kicking fucko redneck, or like you've run out of ideas.
Other than that, keep up the good work!
DotLW
P.s. Especially ukuleles, you look like a total idiot, honestly.

Dead on the Live Wire and Action Group live at The Big Case opening night.
Big Case has been devised and facilitated by a group of MFA students from Edinburgh College of Art. The exhibition is sited in the glasshouse in the grounds of Lauriston Castle, Edinburgh and will feature the work of 10 artists.
The preserved interior of Lauriston Castle displays an ostentatious array of fine art, applied art and furniture presenting a monument to Edwardian predilections. For the purposes of this exhibition the glasshouse will act as a cipher for the display cases held within the main castle, an enlarged cabinet of curiosities, with the work critically reflecting on notions of collection, display and decoration and all the inherent ideological concerns they raise within the context of contemporary artistic production.
The selected artists will respond to the site with objects, videos, performance and photography toying variously with formal artefacts, the playfully defunct, the sentimentality of the object, period drama, alchemical experiments and romance.
An opening night of music and performance kicks off the project on the 1st of August at 7pm
