we worked on two new songs today. fucking brilliant. we will rock your balls off. and if you don't have balls (i'm looking at you, ladies), these songs will make you grow them, and then proceed to rock them off. enjoy having balls while they last, ladies.

So the show last night wen smashingly well. Nice costumes.

They actually empowered us for a bit. Perhaps we will keep the theme going.

New tempos and tightness got the heads bobbing and the feet tapping.

We might vanish for awhile while we invent ourselver yet again.

Kudos to you for being there.

We could be playing at South By Southwest.

How? Why, by winning a contest put on by Spin Online and Music Nation.

All you have to do to help us get to greatness is text:

youngmaths

To this number: 628466

Some people have told me it doesn't work sometimes, but you can also do it the old-fashioned way, online, by going to:

Youngmaths.musicnation.com

We started last week in 800 or so. Right now, we are 64th. Please help us get up there, win this thing, and fucking represent for South Texas, our wonderful selves, and all of you.

We all want to feel loved. The Young Maths are no different. If you frequent this blog, or our Myspace, drop us a comment or message and let us know. Our band does not feel complete unless we are receiving electronic messages from the people who already know us, telling us we are awesome.

That's the whole reason I got into music, really. I'm sure the rest of the guys would agree.

Maybe we'll put up Sheets in its entirety... THEN will you leave us comments?!

Recording is coming along well. I just finished a new song that will kill babies within the first minute. July will be a busy month for us Young Maths, playing shows all over, taking some new photos, and continuing work on the as-yet untitled full length album. Expect to hear completely new versions of Haunted Houses and Body Bags. That's about it. Send me money; I need some.

Show coming up on the 28th; maybe we'll play something new. I started work on a song last night that reminds me a lot of the Hives if they used keyboards and/or what it would sound like if you were being chased by a mob of zombies and about to die (?), or maybe it just sounds like "Paranoid Android" and what would happen ten minutes before a bomb fell on you. I have no idea how it can be pulled off live, though, but I do know I don't want this band to become one of those 8-member monstrosities everyone is so fond of starting these days. Yeah, too much of that going around. I am proud to say everyone in the Young Maths is multi-talented enough to pull off what we come up with. No time for those one-instrument babies. ARE we a super-group? Oh, wait you didn't ask that. Nobody reads these.

show went off without a hitch. got the people in the place jumpin. it was well worth missing half a day of work and not getting paid for it. i drank so much before we played that i felt like pukin. that feeling soon subsided once the set got underway. hope you all enjoyed it as much as i did. those of you who didn't go totally missed out.

we gotta do it again, fellas.
