1973 Volkswagen Beetle, Yeah,  all the gear fit,  sort of,  sat in my yard for a year,  sold it for parts.
1992 Chevy Van, Henry said "get in the van", So i did.  Blue.  Reminds me of shelley,  dead......but still in my yard.
1996 Ford E-150,   Lots of miles on this beast but poor people can't be choosy,  we'll see how she fairs.

Other random stuff:

LONGEST SET: 22 Songs, 1/26/2008 Cleveland, 3 seperate sets really
SHORTEST SET: 1 Song, 5/19/2007 Chicago, the cops came after the first song

NUMBER OF KITCHENS I'VE PLAYED: 3, 4/13/2007 house party in Chicago 4/14/2007. Apt above Rocketstar, Kalamazoo, MI. 7/15/2007 House in Pittsburgh.

STRANGEST LOAD IN: 10/27/2007 Luther house. We arrived after the party was already in progress. it was so jam packed that they only way to get our equipment inside was to pass it in through a window.

HARDEST LOAD IN: 08/22/2007 Scrummage. That place is on the 3rd floor of a warehouse with no elevators. I've never sweat so much in my life. It didn't help that it was the hottest day of the summer.

LONGEST DISTANCE TRAVELED FOR A SHOW: 667 Miles, Ann Arbor MI to New York NY

MOST DANGEROUS SHOW: 3/24/2007 BLACK ELK COOP. Near the end of the show, things started getting rowdy. Somone pulled a large mirror off the wall and it crashed on some people's heads, one of which was David Nestor. Glass went everywhere and people wanted me to stop the show until the glass was cleaned up but there was no way I was doing that. We danced on the glass. I took my shirt off and Andy pulled the lights on top of me and the hot light bulbs started burning my skin. I was too wrappped up in the cords to get out. The next day, I found a large gash in my back and numerous bruises I don't remember getting. That was the most danger in one show, but I was more afraid when I get electricuted in Chicago on 4/13/2007.

MOST EPIC MOMENT: 9/20/08 DIY STREET FAIR.  I really enjoyed this show.  We went on after Esquire who really had the crowd going.  It was this big stage outside and I just really felt like I had hit it big,  though,  I hadn't.  Shelley,  doesn't feel the same way I do about the show,  so,  I guess it's all about perspective.

BIGGEST MESS AT A SHOW: 4/14/2007 Apt above Rocketstar Cafe, Kalamazoo, MI. Besides the usual glitter, confetti, and bubbles, it was hot and so we all got pretty sweaty. I used the dish sprayer on the sink behind me to spray the crowd with water and The Wrap (Kzoo Rap group) ripped open a bag of rice and started throwing it on me and the crowd.

The red paint at the Walter Carlos Release show on 8/24/2007 at the elbow room was pretty messy but not near the totally mess that we generated in Kzoo. In reference to the red paint, I was told before my show in Chicago recently, not to "throw ketchup everywhere".

VENUE MOST PREPARED FOR THE "CHARLIE SLICK EXPERIENCE": 9/28/2007 at a house in Grand Rapids. We arrived to find that they covered their entire finished basement in clear plastic. It was amazing. I've never felt so guiltless about making a giant mess. I'm sure there was still a lot to clean up.

SMALLEST VENUE: 4/14/2007, apt above Rocket Star

LARGEST VENUE: 9/14/2007, U of M Dearborn Cafeteria

MOST PEOPLE: 2/26/2008 Opening for the Crystal Castles at the Magic Stick. That place was packed..

This is almost every show I have ever played. There were some parties that were too last minute to end up on the website, not to mention that no show Hijackings are on this list, but it is, still, a very comprehensive, very long list. How many have you seen?

The best Videos of Me, Andy, and Shelley.

From 2007, probably the best/truest performance captured of Andy and I. The show wasn't really that great but for some reason, I was hungry that night.

The original show Hijacking. Brandon Zwags asked me to play Madison fest, then later, never added me to the line up, so I decided I should come represent anyway. It was all in good fun.

The Mahonies and Charlie Slick. Andy and I were very excited. We've done it a couple times since but none were as magic and this one. The video isn't that great, but the sound is good, and later, it gets a little clearer at the end.

The best of the three commercials we produced for the Edward Murphy release show. There are more to come. Shelley is a better actor then me. Look at that look on her face. Directed by the David Wizard.

This is a really early video from The joint houses (remember that?) from 2005. You can see Dustin up front and Shawn Martin of Jacuzzi telling me to "work those crazy fingers Charlie!". The Classic. Look how far I've come.

I like this Time Travel. Magic Stick. Crystal Castles, Health and Charlie Slick. The guys from Health were pissed when they saw the mess we made. It's sort of magical the way you can only see what's going on when the camera's flash.

My dancing is good in this one. Plus, I like how you can see cars driving behind us and people walking in front of us. I think it fits the song.

EVERYBODY

When you're a babe, they teach you how to share
I'm not sure I ever understood it
When your in school, they count you off in pairs
Well pairin' and sharin', thats where it all began
And I was never very good at explainin'
I couldn't defend myself against her ways
We just never made a connection
I'm not sure I ever made my point, when I ran

Everybody wants to comfort you

Four against the world, It's a nice way to roll
But it's tough to find in the people you know
So I replaced my crew, with a CPU, and now
We are always on Time

Everybody wants to comfort you

I ran away from my home
But I never learned to live alone

NOW YOU'VE GOT YOUR LASERS ON ME

Well I'm so pressed from the factory uh huh
And your momma's and your pappa's, don't they frown on me uh huh
Well the medium dies but the data lives
You can turn my soul into gigabits
and I'll still be hitting on the one's and three's

Now I'm pop history

Well I've got ways with old technology
And now you've got your lasers on me
Welcome to my mind in 2005
you can scrutinize and you can critisize but
I'll still be hitting on the one's and three's

Now I'm pop history

Well I've got ways with old technology
Yeah I've got ways with old technology
And now you've got your laser on me
Yeah now you've got your lasers on me

Pop now, I'm history

THIS IS WHAT I AM
Well I wonder if I'll ever have the money to buy the things I need
It keeps me working every day and night to feed this rock n' roll machine
All my friends think I'm some kind of a nerd because I don't come out at night
Instead I stay at home and play my synthesizers until I am recognized

Cuz' This is what I am,
And this is what I do,
This is what I am

my thoughts are all mixed up, they come out as a hiccup, get a scribble on a notebook page
and people laugh because they think my songs are simple modulations of a sine wave
orange and blue, do they vibrate for you, sample and behold my electric dream
they call it a song but it's really just a symptom of what is inside me

it may be tragic but I still believe in magic, 90 minutes on a black and white screen
and you can say it in a million combinations of 88 black and white keys
if my mom was around, I'm sure she'd be proud, but I'm not sure she'd understand
how her son, would go and sell his soul to be a name on a record stand.

SAY HELLO
I remember when I was young,
Things were fun but they never got done
And I learned a variety of things
None of which were important to me
I remember mother very well
People trying to tell me about her now
Seems like I'm doing what I should
I got out as soon as I could
Come home and try to figure it out
Write it down and put it sound
It really seems like I'm doing what I should
I got out as soon as I could

I say hello to the people I know
Say hello

Well my life is a triumph in pieces
but all together not great
The time in between my stories
Is a good awful place to wait
Should the movie have ended
And everyone left the stage
The orginal got such rave revues
and now the sequals a damned disgrace

I say hello to the people I know
Say hello

.....
Once again I'm hangin' from
The cable runny my microphone
These microphones and synthesizers
Disably enable me
And I can't catch these thoughts because their fleeting
And I can't catch these notes because their bleeding, from me
Their thin as gas and burning fast
Wash across my loneliness
Colored eyes turn black and white
Lay across my lap at night
Oh it's a lot of chitter chatter but no one is talkin' to me.
Oh it's a lot of chitter chatter but no one is talkin' to me.

KEEP IT SIMPLE
Some people, they say that the synth is silly
And they say that you don't need talent to play
They say that my songs are elementary
Oh they say that my songs are a piece of cake
Oh they say that my beats are too basic
And I ain't doing nothing new
And when it comes to a complex structure babe
I haven't got a clue
Oh when I was a little boy I wrote my name on everything
Until the day I realized that no one cares about my name

I keep it simple, I leave it alone
I keep it simple, I leave it alone

Some people, they say I've got it easy
Cuz I ain't got no one is my band
And they say they could do the things that I do
If they only had the things I had
Well anyone can buy a synthesizers
Anyone can play the keys
But I'm the only synthesist
Who's here doing what I please
Oh when I was a little boy I wrote my name on everything
Until the day I realized that no one cares about my name

I keep it simple, I leave it alone
I keep it simple, I leave it alone

REGULAR GUY
You may see me walking down the street
And you may think to yourself
At a party you may pass me by
Andy you might whisper to a friend
Oh, he's just a regular guy
He's just a regular guy
that's cuz, I'm just a regular guy
I'm just a regular guy
I'm just a regular guy

In the morning when I'm driving to work
I think about myself
I take the time to ponder my life
And wonder how I turned out
To be just a regular guy
To be just a regualr guy
and thats cuz, I'm just a regular guy
I'm just a regular guy
I'm just a regular guy

I don't feel like a regular guy
When I think of the things I've done
If I'm such a regular guy
Why am I the only one
If relationhips need relating
Oh it's just to entertaining
To think I would ever meet anyone like myself

All my friends they seem so strange to me
Seems like were so different now
I'm meeting new people everyday
But their just never around
You know I seem like a regular guy
I seem like a regular guy
That's cuz, I'm just a regular guy
I'm just a regular guy
I'm just a regular guy

I don't feel like a regular guy
When I think of the things I've done
If I'm such a regular guy
Why am I the only one
If relationhips need relating
Oh it's just to entertaining
To think I would ever meet anyone like myself

WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY
I tried to write a letter, I tried to explain myself
it turned out to be twenty years long and I still haven't finished it now
my sentences were running on, my comma's going out of control
I had excuses for everything and they were all 23 years old
why can't I get to the point of what I'm trying to say
every time I make a conclusion, my mind seems to change
and If I haven't figured it out by now, I wonder if I ever can
but I hope you keep listening even though you don't understand,
what I'm trying to say

I tried to write a letter, to a man who made me really mad
I had so many things to say, now that the time had passed
but I couldn't finish a sentence, no I couldn't finish a thought
and after allt he words I wrote, I never said what I want
why can't I get to the point of what I'm trying to say
every time I make a conclusion, my mind seems to change
and If I haven't figured it out by now, I wonder if I ever can
but I hope you keep listening even though you don't understand,
what I'm trying to say

I got into an argument, it was one I knew was coming
so I came up with the things to say, before the water was broken
but when it came time, for saying my lines, nothing even seemed to come out
I just started sweating a lot and waving my arms around
why can't I get to the point of what I'm trying to say
every time I make a conclusion, my mind seems to change
and If I haven't figured it out by now, I wonder if I ever can
but I hope you keep listening even though you don't understand,
what I'm trying to say

HOLD IT DOWN

We're all waiting for something to happen
we break the hearts of our moms
we face the world one summer at a time and
we do it all summer long
everybody's living so wild
cuz they know they are gonna move on
has the plan really been
to be our fathers all along

and you're all trying to rock it out
while I'm just trying to hold it down

oh my god, can it be,
these are the best days of our lives
and we slept them all away
because we just can't sleep at night
everybody is running away, everybody's trying to get out
maybe if we were satisfied, we might have something now.

and you're all trying to rock it out
while I'm just trying to hold it down.

****

well your friends never grow up
and people never show up
on their own

and I may learn a thing
to make things confusing
here I go

and there's so many gears
in this rock n roll machine
I don't know about

and like so many songs
I'm a product of a couple
just messing around

but there is science in it
and probability
I'm inspired by it
It's simplifying
my life

I KNOW YOU LOVE MY SYNTHESIZERS

I was all alone trying to understand
How I could be betrayed by the 6 strings in my hand
When I felt my soul begin to oscillate.
It was all becoming clear in a rock n' roll fate
What was one hand of fretting and one hand of strumming
Become two hands of playing the keys of perfection
Well I finally understood baby where I stand
It's inside your shoes making you dance

Chorus:
Well I know you love the songs that come from my synthesizers
And I know those songs are gonna make you dance baby
But don't you come crying to me because I ain't your empathizer
I didn't come here to make some kind of stand, I came to make you dance

We'll the grace of god in the synthesis of sound
Vibrates the moral fabric and it amplifies the crowd
Everyone want to get so serious curious
Maybe I should take you through the whole experience
A key is pressed and a signal is made
It travels through the VCF's and the VCA's
Then it enters the speakers where it learns to speak
and its picked up by the sensors in the toes of your feet

Repeat Chorus

I LIKE TO GO TO THE MOVIES
I like to go to the movies
I don't care what they are
You know that song in the ending
When the credits start
It lets me know that its over
And everything will be alright
Cuz when the movie is over
They're all frozen in time They are frozen in time

I was on some tracks with some friends
And you know what they said
This is just like that time in a movie
Just like that time except
No one moved away
And it was a different town
People got what they deserved
And no one is watching us now

So lets put it on film
We can spin it on a light
Roll out that mile long carpet
On opening night
And we can tell everybody
It was a really great ride
And when the movie is over
We'll all be frozen in time. We are frozen in time

MY TIME MACHINE
It's time to start again
now that the future is gone
You're back with our best friends
and they are happy you're here
And you can lose your self again
In that movie that you like

Cuz it's time for me to leave
In my home made time machine

You walk passed the record store
Where they hide all your favorite songs
You try to write some that might compare
It's so hard with the TV on
You can finally keep it going
Now that you can go it alone
Me and my robot army
Will kill the soul of rock n roll

But it's time for me to leave
In my home made time machine

TURN UP THE SYNTHESIZERS

I was at a rock n' roll show when I say the most amazing thing
It was played by a man with a pocket protector and it sounded like a time machine
He began to play and it blew me away until the guitars started to scream
And all that was left was a faint little whisper of what I had come to see and I said

Turn up the synthesizers
I want to hear those white and blacks
Blow my mind with an audio laser and
Drown out the marshall stacks

It seems like he's always getting shafted after he intros there set
After the band really gets a rocking they only let him make sound effects
But I want to travel to another galaxy on your spaceship of sound
You try to cut him down with your strato-castrators, let the synth hang out

Turn up the synthesizers
I want to hear those white and blacks
Blow my mind with an audio laser and
Drown out the marshall stacks

YOU NEVER TRIED TO BE MY FRIEND

I guess you could say I'm a pretty slick guy
And my friends don't like it when I drive (cuz I drive crazy)
And I can't think of anyone more unlike me
There's no chance we'd ever be friend naturally
There's a lot of things I could be hateful for
Things smashed, things trashed and more
But I don't really care when it comes to the end
Except for those things that you said and you said

You never tried to be my friend

You didn't meet me until I was twelve
I was from my mum but I might as well have been from hell
There were a lot of things that I didn't know
I tried to learn real quick as quick as I could go
Things got tuff and I felt pretty bad
But I was always proud of what I had
I just wanted you to stick up for me
Instead you said I was ruining your family when you said

You never tried to be my friend

REEL FRIENDS
It feels like time is wasted on me
Because no one ever calls me back
I'm left home on a saturday wonderin'
where are all the good times at
I remember we used to watch cult movies
and record the sounds of breaking glass
we would make a ring of fire
from tennis balls soaked in gas

and now my only real friends are reel friends
only real friends are reel friends in the movies

Now I spend all my time
in front of a glowin' screen
All my friends wanna get drunk
but I want to see things bleed
I am tired of the bar
I think I've gotta brand new plan
Why are the only people seein' eye to eye
in the god damn movies man

I think I'm gonna go crazy
If I don't do something soon
I start a lot of projects i don't get finished
cuz its hard to be alone in my room
All burned out on self motivation
and watchin' my favorite scenes
It's hard to have a thoughtful conversation
with a person on a movie screen

I am tired of this shit
Think I'm going back to school
So I can meet some clever film makers
Who can put me in the movies too
When I am on the film
I'll always been in a good mood
Cuz I'll always be with my friends
And we'll always be with you

START AGAIN
Well I'm all torn up so I take a breath
Sit back and watch my friends
I can see their mouths moving when the music is loud
Try to imagine what is coming out
Everyone wants to move away
But it's no fun for the ones who stay
You get serious about the things you start
And now I think I'm seriously falling apart

Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to stop

It's a brand new place
With new brand friends
A brand new bar
Where the circuits bend
They made a bad movie
Back in 82
Lets watch it
Because it's me and you

Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to stop

Now its time for summer and we can begin

Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to start again
Now it's time to stop

THIS HORROR

Well I saw a creature creeping out from under its grave
It ganged up with the monster under my bed
It chased me down the street like the living dead
I don't think I can take anymore
All of my friends are getting killed
By an epidemic of apocolyptic scale
Some one's gotta send their sorry souls to hell
I think I know what I've gotta do

Cuz I'm A hero
In this horror
Mark their graves to god
Love Charlie Slick
Cuz I'm A hero
In this horro
And I ain't taking no shit
From the damned

Brains from their ears are leaking out
Beware of what comes from the sour ground
You better stay in when the sun goes down
If you want to save your soul
Everyone in town thinks I'm wrong
I've got silver bullets in my gun
Garlic and my fingers in the shape of a cross
I don't think I can let it go

Cuz I'm a hero
In this horro
Mark their graves to go
Love Charlie Slick
Cuz I'm A Hero
In thi horror
And I ain't taking no shit
From the damned

I've never been able to understand why I am here
Until one night when got spoke into my ear
He said take up a gun, Defend everyone
From the sinister plans of the devils son
It would all make sense to put to death
all the terrible things with a shot in the head

Shown by the light of the moon
The dead begin to walk
All the children who are fast asleep
Death begins to stalk
Secrets barried long ago
Ride on tainted wind
All our dreams escape us now
on the devils painted grins

VIDEO STORE
I go to parties, I shake hands
Hello everybody this is who I am
You're Nice to me
And you offer me a sip of your drink
But there I am all wide eyed again
Staring from the window of my time machine
Faces glowing in the TV light
Fills up all the hours I can't sleep at night

And its another lonely night at the video store
You can rent your waste of time at the video store
You can rent your peace of mind at the video store
You can rent your way of life at the video store

Sorted in rows is that how you feel
Store in the actors on a movie reel
It's all laid out if you wait your turn
Quote if from the person you wish you were
It always ends before it falls apart
you can see it in their eyes when the screen goes dark
Frozen in time and they wont ever change
and they can win your battles everyday

But its another lonely night in the video store
You can rent your waste of time at the video store
You can rent your peace of mind at the video store
You can rent your way of life at the video store

Well, I deleted all my blogs. I am trying to be more professional. People knowing my deep dark secrets and feelings about each show I play, well, that'll just have to wait until I put out my book. From here on out, its gonna be my lyrics, music videos, contact info, booking info, and all kinds of other junk like that. If you want to hear how a show went, you can come to one and wait for me to break out in a glorious story. Everything I do is arguably better in person anyway.

Thanks
