Hi everyone!
I’ve been remiss in posting on my blog lately, so forgive me. If you ever want to see what I’m up to, I’m usually on Twitter a few times a day. I’m finding one-liners MUCH easier to keep up with on a daily basis.
Next week I’ll be at the Romantic Times conference in Orlando from April 21 - April 26th (will be signing Scions:Revelation on that Saturday if anyone would like to stop by and say hello. I’ll also have copies of the Scions Collector Cards to give away). During the conference, I’ll also be participating in the following panels. I hope you’ll stop by and ask some questions.
VAMPIRE
•THE COLOR OF BLOOD Violence, mayhem and kick-butt heroes and heroines. How to keep your vampires and humans in one piece while appealing to your readers’ desire for something edgy. PANELISTS: Vivi Anna, L.A. Banks, Angela Knight & Jeanne C. Stein MODERATOR: Patrice Michelle
•FROM VAMPS TO TRAMPS Sweet, sexy or erotic? A discussion on the different levels of sensuality and sexuality in today’s vampire tales and how readers are reacting to such different bites of romance. PANELISTS: Michele Bardsley, Carole Nelson Douglas, Angela Knight & Patrice Michelle MODERATOR: Caridad Piñeiro
PARANORMAL
•REAL LIFE WITH A TWIST From psychics to ghosts to other unexplained phenomena, learn how paranormal elements are being integrated into traditional genres to create fresh new stories. Authors dish on the secrets behind the paranormal happenings in their stories. PANELISTS: Heather Graham, Sally Painter, Eden Robins & Jennifer St. Giles MODERATOR: Patrice Michelle
•HYBRID PARANORMALS — IS IT AN URBAN FANTASY OR A PARANORMAL ROMANCE? The big debate and books that straddle the two popular genres. PANELISTS: Jeaniene Frost, Jackie Kessler, Mark Del Franco, Melissa Marr & Adrian Phoenix MODERATOR: Patrice Michelle
•DARKNESS, CREATURES AND ACTION! Paranormal romances are getting gritty, dark and action-filled. How authors balance romance with these other intense elements. PANELISTS: Anya Bast, Rhyannon Byrd, & Rita Herron MODERATOR: Patrice Michelle
•HISTORICAL AND PARANORMAL — MIXING THE MYSTICAL WITH THE PAST How authors create paranormal worlds using historical settings or historical elements. PANELISTS: Jeri Smith-Ready, S.J. Day (AKA Sylvia Day), Deidre Knight, Shayla Black & C.L. Wilson MODERATOR: Patrice Michelle
•HUMOR IN PARANORMALS — Timing is everything, even when dealing with the undead and uncivilized. From zombies to werewolves to vampires and everything in between, these authors will talk about the writing strategies that make you laugh out loud. PANELISTS: Michele Bardsley, Dakota Cassidy, MaryJanice Davidson, Mark Henry & Judi McCoy MODERATOR: Patrice Michelle
When I get back, I’ll share highlights about the conference for those who couldn’t attend.
What I’m working on…hmmm, lots of projects. One theme they all have in common seems to be paranormal. I promise that as soon as I can share some more info…I will.
Best,
Patrice

Hi everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday and a great new year!
I've recently received some awesome reviews for my Scions series and wanted to share.
* Doug over at SciFiGuy has reviewed all three of my SCIONS books. See below for a sneak peak (and click the links to check out the full write up...he even showed the collector cards on his blog, which I thought was awesome!)
Scions:Resurrection ~ "...I had not read anything from the Harlequin Nocturne line of paranormals or from Patrice Michelle, and I have to say Scions: Resurrection delivered an exciting paranormal romance experience that had me devouring it in a single sitting. If you are looking for a new paranormal romance series to start 2009, start right here..." ~ SciFiGuy
Scions:Insurrection ~ "...Insurrection delivers another jam-packed plot as Kaitlyn uncovers the secrets of her father's death and learns some truths about herself that will effect the future of Landon and the Lupreda. The action barrels along at a cinematic pace; the fate of the Musks is discovered and the plotting of an old enemy to start a Lupreda/Sanguinas war is revealed and temporarily overcome...I polished this installment off in a single session because the characters were so engaging and the action compelling." ~ SciFiGuy
Scions:Revelation ~ "...Revelation contains plenty of Patrice Michelle's, by now patented non-stop action and a terrific romance. If anything, Emma and Caine have more hurdles to cross then previous couples in the series, making for great dramatic tension and passionate erotic encounters. The Scions series, to use a well-worn but appropos cliché, is a definite two thumbs up. Although not essential, read the series in order to fully appreciate many of the backstory events and recurring characters". ~ SciFiGuy
*Kate Garrabrant from Fresh Fiction had this to say about Revelation...
Scions:Revelation ~ Paranormal werewolf romance that will have you panting for more. - "...There are some great action scenes, as well as some nice love scenes. Beloved characters from past books make their appearance as well as some new ones that will catch your interest. The Scions series makes for great reading and SCIONS: REVELATION is another great installment that shouldn't be passed up." ~ Fresh Fiction
*Danni of Night Owl Romance Reviews gave Revelation a Reviewer's Top Pick and here's what she said...
Scions:Revelation ~ "...Ms Michelle has built a wondrous, dynamic and interesting world. Scions: Revelation was a fast paced, action filled and exciting read. This is the perfect book (or series) to read on a cold or rainy weekend because you will be lost in its pages." Danni from Night Owl Romance Reviews
*On a related note, I recently answered a question: Do you plan your secondary characters? on the Paranormal Romance Blog. Check it out if you'd like to learn a bit of background about Scions:Revelation and my thoughts about writing a series in general.

December 15, 2008 - Monday

Hi everyone! As I mentioned in my December newsletter, I'm giving away TEN sets of Scions Collector Cards. Now that the prophecy has finally been revealed, wouldn't it be great to have a set of hero collector cards like the ones below to go with your books?

All you have to do to enter for a chance to win is go to my MAIN BLOG and post an answer to this question: Which story in the Scions series have you enjoyed the most and why?
You can pick from any Scions story: Scions:Resurrection, Scions:Insurrection, Scions: Perception (eBook novella) or Scions:Revelation and speak in general terms about the storyline or talk about the characters...whatever you like. (note: All I ask is that if you're giving away a potential spoiler in your comment, that you please add a "spoiler" note at the top of your comment for those who might not have read the books yet)
Also, as an additional incentive to join in the fun (and because Frauke of Croco Designs is not only talented, but so generous!), I'll also be giving away a $25 holiday voucher from Croco Designs.
Frauke at Croco designed the collector cards above as well as this cool banner you see to the left. Frauke's service isn't just for authors or aspiring authors, though Frauke does web design, bookmarks, postcards, etc, too. If you're a reader, who'd like a new header banner for her reader blog, or maybe a new MySpace page, this voucher could go toward Frauke helping you with that, too. So come on, enter for a chance to win. I hope you'll join in the fun!
Contest is open until 6 pm EST Thursday night, Dec 18. I'll pick the 10 winners at random (which will include one $25 voucher winner) and post the winners names on my MAIN BLOG at 8 pm that same night.
