It's hot as a hippocrocapig's armpit here in NYC and I have 1 or 2 gigs every day! My brother is going to Wed his lovely Fiance Neala in October!! So I am heading over to Europe for a good stint including support slots with John Martyn, The Oysterband and Drunk In Public. I hope that most of England is out from underwater by then as I shall be covering most of it. It looks like there will be no beautiful days for me this year!......BUMMER

The mud of Glastonbury has seeped into my pedals, my guitar and my very pores. It has permiated my clothes and possibly even my songs at this stage!! I am glad to get back to good old concrete NYC where it is sunny and dry and I can see all my Buddies!! We are playing a band show tomorrow night in my local venue and I can't wait to hear drums and bass and keys behind my songs again!!!! I had a wonderful time whilst away and it was great to see lots of my old friends and make some new ones!!! You know who you all are!!!!! Dan X X X x x

I just played a weekend with the oysterband in Leicester. It was a bit muddy but there was music a plenty!!! I played with the oysterband on sat night and it was great to be included in their scene even if it meant learning a few killer mandolin riffs that set my fingers on fire!! I also rocked a solo set on the sunday after my mate James maddock played.. I sold a shed load of Cds and made some new friends!! And i have already been mud proofed for Glasto!!!!

Tonight I start the irish leg of my tour in Galway!!
I have my friend Cosmo for company. He's an anarchist poet and songsmith from London/Hungary. I am glad to be back where the bar staff are glad to pour you a pint and the pints are black and creamy. I did all my laundry at my brothers yesterday so will be well dressed and smelling fresh.....at least for a day or 2. I also have stocked up on T-shirts DVDs and beach e.p.s to flog along the way!!

The show seems to be going over really well. This isn't exactly translating into Cd sales though but we are having great Craic. As it's a fringe festival thingy everyones a frikkin poet or playwright. I may pretend to be a stockbroker for the week. I haven't taken any pictures yet or done any sightseeing at all. I think I will start tomorrow.....that old chestnut!! I have been running off my hangover every day though. The Czech's aren't the friendliest mofos on the planet but they'll do for the week!!

The larger here is divine and the weather is clement. We have an apartment by the river near the Charles bridge beside a park. I go running in the morning and start drinking Budvar in the afternoon. It's a dollar a beer here.......uh oh!! The shows are going down really well but the money is like magic beans and will evaporate once I leave so anything I get I have to spend here really. I am thinking of getting some marionettes (they are great!!) and some tattoos, met a tattoo artist in the pub of course!! The people are reserved but friendly and if you try to speak Czech to them they love it. I had a 2 hour conversation with the local nutter in Czech for about 2 hours last night. I am sure we were talking about heavy metal music as there was the odd name like Ozzy and John Bonham peppered in the Czech!! I think the beer was infused with language as today I am back to being dumbstruck!!
