We've been adding people to our page lately. Here's the reason:

We realize there is a large number of people who used to know our band in the early 90s and then lost track of us. That happened with people of the Metal scene we used to reach in other countries by mail or through fanzines. We had a very good response to our material abroad. The following years our activity was concentrated in our country and we achieved recognition here, but we all but disappeared from the scene abroad. Now, while we are well known in Portugal, our following in other countries is small despite the very good reviews. We reached the media but we want to reach the Metal people, especially the ones who knew us in the 90s. That's the reason for sending requests here on MySpace, we send them to people we think may have already heard and enjoyed our band in the past but lost contact meanwhile.

Thank you for adding us. Thank you for the hundreds of messages of support. Most refer to learning we're still around being good news. Welcome back and enjoy our NECRO ROCK 'N' ROLL!!!

This is a footage from the preparation of a Filii Nigrantium Infernalium gig in which we used fire-breathing (Centro Cultural - Benavente, Oct. 9th 1993). Langsuyar and Tanngrisnir were doing backing vocals, Mike was handling percussion. You can spot several friends from the 90’s Portuguese Metal scene before Filii’s soundcheck, like Tanngrisnir/Tann (Ironsword) showing an exceptional talent for fire-breathing, for example.

Here's an update as we recently realised some people that were into the band in the early 90's don't know we're still kicking!

Since our demotape we have released:

'A Era Do Abutre' - Mini-CD, 1995
'A Queda...Sodoma Em Ascensão' - vinyl EP, 2002
'Fellatrix Discordia Pantokrator' - Full-length CD, 2005

The full-length will be released in a couple of months on a special vinyl edition, we are putting our hearts on this release, it will be different from the CD, extra care will show and a limited (50 or so) picture disc edition of this will also be made.

We have two tracks we recorded in studio and finished mixing last week, to be released on vinyl EP hopefully this year.

We are currently composing new songs for the next full-length but we don't have a definite record deal with a label yet.

'Moira' and 'Morte Geométrica' are our contribution to the soundtrack of a Black Metal porn movie, 'Phallusifer - the immoral code', by Karnal Films.

We already played three shows this year in Portugal, not looking for more.

We are looking forward to playing a couple of shows abroad. We are an underground band so a couple of good shows should be sufficient, to satisfy some old fans.

This is the state of affairs for Filii Nigrantium Infernalium at the moment.

In 1990, upon the release of the Hammerheart album, Quorthon (R.I.P.) went on a promotional journey around Europe. These are some images of his passage in Portugal. You can spot out the (then) teenagers Belathauzer, Helregni and Mantus (Filii Nigrantium Infernalium), Tann (Ironsword), Langsuyar (Moonspell), Ares (ex-Moonspell), JA (Decayed), Jó (Theriomorphic) and David Estorninho (Thormenthor manager) around the Bathory mastermind. You can see Belathauzer asking what Quorthon felt about his earlier releases and Quorthon is surprised because he thought those fans were too young to have been listening to his music from that long. Many of those who appear on this footage are still known to be his fans nowadays so this homage is also for those in Portugal who loved his music from deep in their hearts.
