Auch dieses Jahr möchte ich meinen Geburtstag gemeinsam mit Euch allen feiern und wie in den letzten Jahren haben wir uns für diesen Abend etwas einfallen lassen, das die Nacht zu etwas besonderem machen wird. Bitte lest den folgenden Text aufmerksam durch und macht alle mit:

MUSIK IST … Was ist Musik? Woher kommt sie? Was macht sie mit uns? Warum bewegt sie in uns? Warum gibt es Musik? Musik ist ein Stück weit Mysterium, für jeden von uns bedeutet sie etwas anderes. Wir definieren sie unterschiedlich, nehmen sie unterschiedlich wahr und doch haben wir alle gemeinsam, dass sie uns sehr viel bedeutet und uns tief berührt.
MUSIK IST …diesen Satz wird jeder von uns mit unterschiedlichen Worten vervollständigen oder erklären. Diese unterschiedlichen Deutungen und Bedeutungen interessieren mich (und hoffentlich auch euch), deshalb möchten wir sie sammeln und an meinem Geburtstag inszenieren. Wir möchten wissen, wie eure persönliche Definition von Musik ist, was sie euch bedeutet, was sie in euch bewegt.
MUSIK IST …diesen Satz könnt ihr mit einem einzigen Wort vervollständigen. Ihr könnt auch mehr dazu sagen, beschreiben, erzählen, was Musik mit euch macht oder wie Ihr Musik erlebt. Wenn ihr es selbst nicht erklären könnt, zitiert einfach jemanden, der eurer Meinung nach die richtigen Worte gefunden hat.
MUSIK IST …Um diese Nachrichten sammeln und verarbeiten zu können haben wir eine Telefonnummer mit einem Anrufbeantworter freigeschaltet, wo ihr eure Nachricht auf Tonband hinterlassen könnt.
MUSIK IST …Diese Aufnahmen werden in dieser Nacht in den DJ Sets und dem Live-Act verwendet und verarbeitet werden. Es wird eine Videoinstallation von Patrick Raddatz geben, die eure Definitionen von Musik aufgreift und auf abstrakte Weise visualisieren wird. Und es wird auch ein limitiertes MUSIK IST... Robert Johnson Poster geben.
MUSIK IST … an diesem Abend von Zip (Perlon), Bruno Pronsato live (hello?repeat) und Vera (Oslo Records).

1. Überlege dir, was Musik für dich ist

3. Sag uns deinen Namen und woher Du kommst (nur wenn Du möchtest), und sprich deine persönliche Definition von Musik auf's Band. Falls Du jemanden zitierst, sag uns auch, von wem das Zitat ist.
4. Komme am 07.02.2009 ins Robert Johnson und sei gespannt auf die vielen verschiedenen Definitionen von Musik, und darüber, wann, wie und wo deine eigene Definition auftauchen wird.

Once again I'd like to celebrate my birthday with you, and like in the last years we have developed an idea for that night, that should to make this night a special night for all of us. So please read the following text carefully and participate in the event.

MUSIC IS... What is music? Where does music come from? What does it do with us? Why does it affect us? Why does music exist? Music is some kind of mysteria and for each of us it means something different. We all define music in different ways, percept it differently but at the same we all have in common, that it means a lot to us and that it touches us deeply.
MUSIC IS... Any of us would finish or explain this sentences with different words. Those different meanings and explanations are my interest (and hopefully yours too). That's why we'd like to collect them and present them to you at my birthday party. We want to know, how each of you defines music, what it means to you, what it moves inside of you.
MUSIC IS... You can simply finish this sentence with one word, but you can also tell us more about it, describe what music does to you, how you experience music. If you can't to find the right words, just quote someone that in your opinion found a good explanation.
MUSIC IS... To be able to collect and use those messages we installed an answering machine, where you can leave your messages on tape.
MUSIC IS... Those tape recordings are going to be used and modified in the DJ Sets/ Live Act. There will be a videoinstallation by Patrick Raddatz, that is going to visualize your definitions of music in an abstract way. And there will be a limited MUSIC IS... Robert Johnson poster.
MUSIC IS... played that night by Zip (Perlon), Bruno Pronsato live (hello?repeat) and Vera (Oslo Records).

So, here's short version:

1. Think about what music is for you.
2. From 07th of January on call this number +49-(0)69-48981457
3. Say your name and and where you are from (onyl if you want to), and leave your personal definition of music on the answering machine. If you quote someone tell us who you are quoting.
4. Come to Robert Johnson on the 07.02.2009 and be excited about all the definitions of music and about when, where and how your own definition is going to appear.
