Dear ones,

Erwin Arkema directed a beautiful video for Wonder. I'm really pleased with it, thank you Erwin & everybody at IQ-Media!

Wonder is not my new single, it's just a little Christmas gift from me to you.
The mood of the song and the video fits the time of year so perfectly, I just had to share it with you guys.

I wish you and all your loved ones the most wonderful Christmas and see you soon!

We'll release a new single early next year, as well as play ESNS and visit Greece.
Check out the events page at my website for all our upcoming gigs and stay tuned!

With love,

Anneke xXx

Dearest ones,

First of all, please find below a little video message for y'all! Happy Holidays!

2010 promises to be an exciting year. We will start the year off right with two performances at the EuroSonic Noorderslag Festival. ESNS is Europe’s most important live music industry conference and showcase festival, taking place from 14th - 16th January 2010 in Groningen, The Netherlands.

On Thursday January 14 we will play @ EuroSonic with Agua de Annique at The Opera Tent, showtime: 21.00 - 21.40 HRS.

On Saturday January 16 I will join eclectic visionaries C-mon & Kypski and the wonderful Metropole Orchestra @ Noorderslag - Oosterpoort, grote zaal, showtime 20.15 HRS. This will be a very special gig with a nice guest stars line up and I will be one of them.

ESNS is completely sold out, but if you already have tickets, do come and check us out!

No tickets, no worries: because we already have these gigs confirmed for the upcoming year:

Hello dear friends,

A beautiful cold but sunny day and I have found some time to update you guys and galls!

First off, I want to say I'm always very touched by all your comments on this MySpace profile, my website, Facebook, Hyves, YouTube and Twitter. I do read all of them. However, my Facebook & MySpace inbox is a different story. There are literarily 1000's of emails there, a lot of them very elaborate. It's really not possible for me to read and answer them. Please forgive me

While on the wonderful subject of all your supportive comments. I receive lots of questions about why we play where we play and why not in so & so country.
Well, I LOVE playing live. It's probably the most direct form of communicating with an audience and I just adore doing it. I'm also very anxious to go back to every country I've already been to and travel to new places as well!
A few years ago I had to take a break from touring intensively due to persistent fatigue and the desire to spend more time with my little boy. Nevertheless I've always been looking for opportunities to play abroad as much as possible, be it in shorter stints. Since I've learned to take a rest a lot more without feeling guilty, my health improved a lot. So even though it's a complicated sum of timing, economics and geography, I'm always trying to find ways to tour abroad.
Very recently I've started working with US based agency Entourage Talent Associates, to handle my international bookings, so keep an eye on the events page of my website, there's always more to come fo sho!

And... keep posting those requests: I love to read where all of you come from and where you would want to see and hear us play live!

So... what have I been up to?!?

Well, there are some exciting things coming up I still have to be a little bit mysterious about...
I can tell you though that we are working on two music videos and what I have seen from the first one (which is nearly completed) is very, very beautiful.
I'm also in the midst of preparing a special guest appearance which will take place mid-January in the Netherlands. I hope I can announce it this coming week!
Right before Xmas I will spent some family time in Cologne (I love that city) and right after that I'm looking forward to doing a few acoustic shows with Danny Cavanagh.

On a more serious note: last week I attended Jos Kuijsters' memorial service, the father of our lovely keyboard gall Annelies. It was incredibly sad and heart warming at the same time. Jos was a very sweet, creative and inspirational man and the whole band was deeply saddened by his passing. Annelies and her family are in our thoughts and we wish them lots of strength.

Speak soon,

Anneke xXx

Dear ones,

Hi from the Netherlands: a cold and rainy place at the moment. The best remedy to chase away my winter blues is to, yet again, release an album in the fall! Makes even the darkest days very exciting... haha. Finally I have some time to tell you about past weeks events! And... I have some exciting news to share with you as well.

Right after our remarkable Lebanon trip where we did a one-off show at the Beirut Rock Festival, we started our string of four Dutch shows. We were so happy to start gigging again. All shows went really well and we mainly had to move the song Just Fine a bit around to create a nice flowing set. We've created a special media section with pics and vids of these four shows.

Joost Nuijten shot some great behind the scenes images of the Amsterdam gig.

Annelies did very well on keyboards and backing vocals and we were super glad she came along with us. She's a real sweetheart, so it was great hanging out with her before and after the shows.

We were very happy with the amount of people that came to see us. It was good to recognize a lot of familiar faces (even from far and away places), dear friends & family, but I also saw a lot of newcomers, which is kinda exciting as well. I just loved being on stage again and I'm thrilled to be able to announce new dates!

Holiday Season Shows with Danny Cavanagh (Anathema):
December 26 - Ankara, Turkey (312 Arena)
December 27 - Istanbul, Turkey (Studio Live)
December 28 - Budapest, Hungary (FMH - Fovarosi Muvelodesi Haz)
December 29 - Sofia, Bulgaria (Slavjanska Beseda)

Dutch Shows early 2010:
January 30 - Romein, Leewarden
February 4 – Atak, Enschede
February 5 - Lakei, Helmond
February 6 – Kasteel, Alpen aan de Rijn
February 11 – P3, Purmerend
February 12 – Hedon, Zwolle
February 13 – Gigant, Apeldoorn
February 19 - Victorie, Alkmaar
February 26 – Perron 55, Venlo

This weekend I'll be on Dutch National Radio 3FM two more times!
Friday November 27 between 10 pm and 1 am @ Der Rudy.
Sunday November 29 between 11 pm and 1 am @ XNoizz.
You can find a stream here, just click on 'luister live' at the top of the page.

That's it for now. We are also working on more shows abroad so stay tuned and take care!

Hello friends,

I hope you are fine & well. Here all is great and busy, with the album being released this Friday! I am very pleased with the first reviews, as they are coming out this period. It's always a good sign when the very first reactions are that positive.

I am also impatiently looking forward to the upcoming shows. We have been rehearsing quite a lot and I tell you: it's gonna be good and I can't wait to go out and play!  :-)

Good news for you peeps from abroad. As of today our new album In Your Room is available for pre-order in our webshop. We expect to ship early next week, so that's actually pretty soon.

Check out this little vid from the Hey Okay! iTunes Contest. Congrats to the lovely winner and all runners-up. Thank you all for downloading Hey OKay! and sending us your sing along videos. I had a lot of fun watching all of them!!!

Some major personal news as well: I finally have my iPhone! Djeez, almost impossible to get one of those babies in the Netherlands, when you renewed your mobile phone contract just prior to their release, as I did a little more than a year ago. Thanks to Joris' (legally correct!) master plan, I now am the proud owner of a iPhone 3GS, 32 GB woohoo...

That's it for now everybody, talk soon!

Pre-order In Your Room

Dearest ones,

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to spent a lovely three days with my family in a hotel by the North Sea. It was windy as hell, but sooo nice!!!

Photobucket

Now I'm back in the saddle again and I have another update on In Your Room for you.

Earlier this week I did two press days in Amsterdam. People react very good to the new album and are pleasantly surprised by its directness. I hardly think about the album's reception when I'm writing & recording, but of course I'm thrilled to learn that I'm not the only one who fell in love with the songs of In Your Room  ;-)

As you probably know, we've put three songs online. Check out the music section of our website. Those three tunes kinda represent the different moods that are on In Your Room. If you are into them, you can buy the album blindly... haha.
Speaking of which!! You can pre-order In Your Room through our webshop. When you click on the In Your Room album cover, you'll be redirected to a Dutch site. For you non-Dutchies: 'reserveer nu' means 'reserve now' and 'bestellen' means 'order'. You could also make use of Babel Fish.

The single Hey Okay! is available for download on most iTunes Stores. I'm holding a little sing-along-contest to celebrate this. I personally watch all entries and some of you already made me laugh really hard.

Since I've reached the maximum number of friends on my Facebook profile, I've created an unlimited fanpage on Facebook. Hope to see you there as well!

Next week I'm putting on a very intimate 'Invites Only' release party in Amsterdam. If you became a VIP-member during the recording of In Your Room: check your mailbox and you might be able to be part of this. But no worries: I'll be presenting my new songs to all of you during the upcoming shows:

November 12 2009 Oosterpoort, Groningen NL presale through TicketService

November 13 2009 Doornroosje, Nijmegen NL presale through Doornroosje

November 14 2009 Melkweg, Amsterdam NL presale through TicketService

November 15 2009 Effenaar, Eindhoven NL presale through TicketService

My brother will be emigrating to Portugal this weekend. We had a little farewell dinner last Tuesday. I will be missing him of course, but at the same time: visiting him regularly isn't a bad idea at all in beautiful Portugal!

love,

Anneke X

Hello dear ones!

I hope you've had a great summer. We certainly did, that's for sure!
Recording our new album in our brand new self build recording studio was, besides lots of hard work, just a sheer blessing and the end result is to my absolute satisfaction. It's crystal clear, positive, alternative pop rock music with, of course, some melancholy. My three band-mates were in top form! I played a beautiful old piano on two songs. Rob played additional keyboards. We have one guest on this record: Twan van Gerven, who is mainly known from his great guitar playing for Dutch band Beef.

I wrote all songs except two. The song 'Just Fine' was co-written with Devin Townsend and 'Adore' was written by our bass player Jacques, together with our dear friend Cyril Crutz. The album 'In Your Room' contains a total of 12 songs and will be released the 30th of October. The first single 'Hey Okay!' on the 6th of October. I will keep you posted on all of this.

The album was mastered last Monday. This week, I find myself in a sort of a vacuum between the albums deadline (yesterday) and the whirlwind of promoting my newborn, which is about to start very soon. So I sleep as much as I can and I'm trying to catch up with all domestic duties. I'm afraid, in my case, this will mean hiring a new housekeeper

The pre-sales for the first shows have already started and we are totally looking forward to play again after the studio period. We will of course perform lots of new songs and spoil your ears with recent classics from my two previous albums. Do come and see us, this will be the only Dutch shows till the end of 2009!

November 12 2009 Oosterpoort, Groningen NL presale through TicketService

November 13 2009 Doornroosje, Nijmegen NL presale through Doornroosje

November 14 2009 Melkweg, Amsterdam NL presale through TicketService

November 15 2009 Effenaar, Eindhoven NL presale through TicketService

Keep a close eye on our website. The release of In Your Room will be surrounded by some exciting promo actions!

See you soon!
