Hi I'm Keisha. I've been in the porn business for more than half my life; over 20 years. And I even can't imagine what the next 20 years will bring. However, I'm sure it will be fun and full of surprises.
I very much enjoy my career. I have an intense passion for sensuality and sexuality. I believe that one of my missions in life is to bring joy to the world, one orgasm at a time. On a fundamental level, I am a teacher and a healer. I have been drawn to this profession to channel my talents in a highly unorthodox way. I luxuriate in being such a different and unique individual. The mainstream life never appealed to me.
I just turned 40 on October 25, 2006. I'm so very happy to be 40. I feel that I've earned every second of my 40 years and I wouldn't want to be any younger. Maturity and self understanding have such fantastic benefits. I have a feeling that I am going to live a very long time, so my best guess is that I am probably only 1/3 of the way through my life.
I appreciate the fact that I am more powerful than I have ever been in my life. And when I say powerful, I don't mean that I feel I have any power over other people, places and things; I just feel that I have really come to understand myself in a way that allows me to live my life from a foundation of self trust. The decisions that I make in my life come from a place of discovering what feels right to me in my gut and honoring it.
My career has gone through many incarnations. I started doing adult magazines and xxx-movies when I was 19, in March of 1986. I made the bulk of my movies between 1986 and 1994. In 1987, I began feature dancing, and I toured around the US and Canada 9 years. I definitely loved being on stage. I love to dance and I love performing for an audience.
From 1996 - 1999 I went back to college at Santa Monica Junior College, and I worked on the weekends at a local strip club. I took most of the classes that I need to take to transfer to UCLA as a Psychology major. I only have three more classes to take at SMC to fulfill the stringent UCLA Psychology major preparation. In 1999, after one of my finals, I got a gut feeling that it would be a good idea to return to making movies and create a membership web site. I felt that with the explosion of the internet, it would be a great time to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities available on the internet. So, that's what I did. My membership website is www.xxxKeisha.com. I'm currently working on a complete redesign of my membership website, so that along with lots of fun photos and videos, I will be including a lot of great sex education information – Keisha style.
In August 2001, I began offering a personal service where my fans could meet me and spend some one-on-one time with me. I have met so many lovely people, and I know that I have touched the lives of so many people through this aspect of my work. Bringing excitement and enjoyment into the lives of people is highly rewarding. In many cases, I serve in the teacher roll and I help people to understand their bodies and help them to address many different sensitive issues - from personal relationships to e.d. I feel like I am able to reach people who otherwise might not think to seek help from other venues. I actually enjoy this aspect of my career more than making movies, because my fans appreciate me far more than any porn producer ever has. My personal services website is www.PornStarKeisha.com.
Last semester I took a social psychology class and it was so great. I had considered starting UCLA in the fall of 2007, but my career is so busy right now that I feel that it is a good idea to strike while the iron is hot and fulfill what is in front of me before I to go to school full time. I just love being in school and I'm so proud of myself that I am a straight A student. I worked really hard for it.
Even though I'm not enrolled in college right now, I am a passionate student of life. I am always studying something. I read a lot of books and listen to a lot of audio books. I adore audio books because I can listen to them over and over and over again. I've listened to so many audio books that I've got a great education via my ipod.
Of course, one of my favorite things to study is human sexuality and interpersonal relationships. I read everything I can get my hands on about these subjects. I know that a major calling in my life is to be a sex and relationship educator. I love learning about sexuality and relationships, and I love sharing what learn with others. I am a member of AASECT (American Association of Sexual Educators, Counselors and Therapists), and I look forward to going to their convention in 2007. A few of my favorite books at this time are "The Art of Sex Coaching" By Dr. Patty Britton, "Great Sex: A Man's Guide to The Secret Principles of Total Body Sex" by Michael Castleman; and The Lost Art of Listening.
Besides studying about sex, I really enjoy learning about the human brain. It is so fascinating to me. I love learning about all the different parts of the brain, what they do and how to apply this knowledge to every day life. One of my favorite books is "Mozart's Brain and the Fighter Pilot". It's an amazing book written by neurologist, Richard M. Reztak, M.D. He explains so many things about how our brains work, and he gives practical tools we can use on a daily basis for brain enhancement and brain health. Did you know that leg strength is enormously important for a healthy brain?
Another book that has amazing practical applications is called "One Small Step Can Change Your Life: The Kaizen Way" by Robert Maurer. He explains the roll of the amygdala, a part of the brain which controls our fear response. If the amygdala is over stimulated, it can make us afraid to do things that we would really like to do in our lives, and it can trigger paralyzing fear. But by breaking things down in to very small manageable pieces and focusing on doing just one little step, it prevents the amygdala from being woke up so we can navigate our lives with a lot less fear. "Shhhh, don't wake up the amygdala!"
I also enjoy studying anything that has to do with personal, emotional and spiritual improvement. Bill Burns, who has been like a father to me since I was 20, is my favorite personal growth teacher. You can find him at www.BillBurns.org. Eckhart Tolle is one of my favorite spiritual teachers and authors. His focus is on teaching how to stay in the present moment.
I am completely fascinated by psychology – particularly cognitive psychology - I like the saying, "you can act your way into right thinking, but you can't think yourself into the right action". Cognitive psychology is all about changing your life by changing your actions.
I find mythology incredibly interesting. Joseph Campbell and Kenneth C. Davis are my favorite teachers/authors on this subject. I've enjoyed reading "Hero With a Thousand Faces", "The Power of Myth", "Don't Know Much About Mythology" and "Don't Know Much About the Bible".
I love classical music, especially Chopin. I listened to a great audio book on Chopin's life called "The Life and Works of Chopin". It was just absolutely fascinating.
My taste in popular music changes with the tides, but my favorite singers are Nikki Costa and Christina Aguilera. And my favorite songs are "I Gotta Know" and "Ain't No Other Man".
In my personal life I am in a committed relationship. Although I have lots of sex in my work life, in my private life I am a one-man woman. Being in a relationship is very grounding and stabilizing for me. He is my best friend and my lover and I am very happy.
