Hey Everybody,

If you happened to make it out to our last show in Boston on January 23rd at the Berklee 939 Cafe and took pictures of our set, we would love it if you could email us the photos.  We know there were a few of you snapping pictures from the crowd that night.  We would love you forever if you could help us out with that. Also, if you are hosting the photos online just send us a link to where they are at.  We will give credit to any pictures that may be used. 

As I'm sure you may have seen from the last blog I posted that randomly got deleted, we are working hard at getting the new album ready for a release in early April so keep checking back often for news on that.  Also, we may have a little treat for those of you who are able to make it out to our next show on February 21st w/ Lovedrug at Harpers Ferry in Allston Rock City.  Rumor has it that there will be some free giveaways at the show... Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $12 the day of the show so save your money and buy your tickets early by clicking here.

In other news, Liam's mom bought him a cool little camcorder so we can start getting more live footage and random clips for those of you who we don't get to see too often.  As soon as he has a laptop capable of editing video (hopefully next week) we will be posting some footage from shows!  I hope your as excited about this as I am.  I'm actually more excited for gettin random interviews of people who stop by and visit us at our merch table, so if you want to see your pretty face in an official Fly Upright Kite online video you'll have to come say hi to us.

Last but not least, I wanted to let you all know that we are planning an east coast tour for April and plan to get outside of our comfort zone of the New England region.  Feel free to send us a message if you want us to play in your town and we'll see if we can get it lined up. We may also be interested in cool coffee shops that we can do an acoustic set at, as well as independent radio stations that you may know of who would be able to play our music before we get into town.  If you know of any such places please, please, please let us know and we'll have a special treat for you when we meet you on tour in April.

so for the last few months we've been getting a lot of complaints from people that we deleted them and why we did it.

i promise to you we did not delete you!

i emailed myspace and they said they are aware with our problem and they'll try and fix it.

so please be patient with us... i guess the most you guys can do for now is to check back often to see if we are playing anywhere close to you or if we have some new songs up.

i'm so sorry for everyone thats had to re-add us. we don't really have the amount of friends most bands have so its kind of weird its happening to us but it is and thats that.

1.why are we only putting out one of the 6 songs and why only for a week?

cause we are sick of you guys not being able to hear it and a week cause its not mastered and we don't know when we'll get it mastered.

2. was it fun to work with Mike Poorman and Brian Mcternan? was recording fun?

yes. mike is possibly one of the coolest guys to get along with outside of the studio. in the studio the dude is allllll business. to have mcternan mix our cd is an honor, i love the circa records and i love the moneen records. i hope you guys love this one. recording was a blast watch the video blogs and you'll see why.

3. when is the cd coming out?

i don't know. maybe in feb maybe in march.

4. tour?

maybe in feb maybe in march.

5. how can i help?

we are only putting up this song for a week so tell as many people as you can post it in your profile and post bulletins. everything will help. if we get a good response from this we'll probably be putting out another one sooner then later.

heres a new studio update. we asked some friends to help record this week and it was fun so thats why we did it

so its been awhile... sorry!

i hope everyone is well and things are great. its nearing the end of the school year for me so its been a little stressful trying to write our next record and figuring out where i'm going to live next year! boston is expensive!

anyway, the reason i'm writing this blog is because we really need an online merch store. so if there is anyone out there in our friend list that has any experience doing something like that please contact us.

also for anyone that wants to be on our next record we need a few string players to record with us in June. if there are any violin, cello, bass, viola musicians out there that can read music please contact us as well! you can be on our next record! we only need one saturday or sunday afternoon to record. it'll be fun i promise! think about it!
if you are horn player i haven't really thought about it but maybe we'll write something for horns. if you aren't a musician and know a musician show them our music it would be really awesome and we'll be forever grateful. i have a great memory i won't forget it!

and to everyone else feel free to ask us anything about the next cd. i know a lot of people are curious on whats going on so i figure i'll make a FAQ blog. or even if you want to write to us and tell us how much you love brian feel free

on may 5th, at the sad cafe in NH, we'll be debuting 2 new songs that will both be on our next cd i am extremely really proud of both so come and support us and if you can't make the show we'll put it up on purevolume the next day!

hey everyone sorry for not writing every week like what i promised. but i'll try and keep writing and letting you know whats going on.

lets start two weeks ago


stephen christian from anberlin emailed us and wrote "great vox -s" yes for some of you this is a lame message but to me it was really cool. so i wrote a longggggggg email saying how much i love his band and how the melodies and the guitar parts blow my mind and i'm really excited for their next record (which is awesome) and then asked him if he had an aim or an email so i can send him the cd! bad move! cause he never responded back. a couple of my friends offered to hand off our EP off to stephen at their boston show last week and from what they told me he was pretty excited about it. it warms me up a little bit that we might be on stephens IPOD. the fact alone that he found us and not us going to him was pretty cool.

anyway so that was a bonus going into midterm week which is really bringing me down!

on friday march 9th we played a show at the sad cafe in NH. we love that place... its true. there were a ton of people at the show which made me happy since i put a lot of work into promoting it. the only thing this show lacked was our ep's since we didn't fill our merch. bad move. i'm only mentioning this show because we started it off with a brand new song to our set, "across the ocean". lyrically the song is going to need a few adjustments but i think musically its right where i want it to be. if you want to hear that song plus the rest of the show i put it up on Purevolumeout of the 6 songs we played that night only two are on the EP so go check it out! i also posted lyrics to "sadness is a weight" which will be on our next ep. okay now time for some honesty the only thing i was sad about on the ninth show was that although we had a huge crowd we lacked the myspace comments the next day! people we read them and they make us smile!

i'm really really excited for our show this saturday masslive events show with Moneen, Dameria, The Appreciation Post, and Brunswick. i heard Dave from dameria is intense at guitar so i'm really really excited about that as well.
what i'm not excited about is fixing my grammer/spelling mistakes in this blog so i'm not going to do that.
