15 Days ago, we left our home in Charleston to head to Gettysburg to record, what we hoped to be, a 5 song demo. In the two weeks we were on the road we had 8 shows to play from Asheville to Baltimore, which left us with 7 Days to record. Each day we woke up in Baltimore at 8am and drove to Gettysburg for 6-17 hour sessions.
Day 1: We were driving up to the studio hoping to finish at least half of the drum and bass tracks. I was a little nervous about last minute parts being written and sections of songs being changed and in some cases completely removed while we road in the car. When we were set up and ready to go, we got right to work. Things started off a little shaky when i couldn't get the metronome audible in my headset. Once that was fixed we had to make sure to get enough layers laid on Steep, Your Hands, In Bloom and Anna Lee for Cole to finish all his parts that morning. This day we only had till 4pm to record, then we had to go directly from Gettysburg to the 8x10 in Baltimore to play with the band, The Bridge. Cole had to fly back to Charleston the next morning so we had to finish. 4 o'clock was approaching and we needed more time. We kept working hoping time would slow down, but it showed no signs. It was 4:45pm, the show was sold out and we were still in Gettysburg...

We just got back from a great week on the road. Just wanted to thank everyone for taking care of us. It was the first time we've gotten in trouble for playing charades. And even though the Best Western in Helen GA has a nice breakfast spread, nothing beats Cynthia's homemade waffles, eggs and bacon.

Just to clarify something that is often asked of us at our concerts. We do not use loops in our music. The bass is coming from Aaron on the keyboards. This in no way is a statement about the use of loops in music. The technology is there and should be used if desired. It's just something we choose not to use.

There is something about a mountain town, especially a music loving one! We kicked off our 3 show run at the Root Bar. A bar that invented its own sport, a cross between horseshoes and bocce ball. A perfect blend for an evening of live original music. Only if all clubs didn't allow any cover songs! Thanks again for having our CD in your Juke Box.
We then followed that up the next day with an accoustic sit down at The French Broad Brewery. This was a tasting room fueled by tasty brews and music lovers..with a very impressive staff. Check out French Broad's calendar of some of there own local talent. Later that night we rocked out Westville Pub and the all you can eat lasagna plate. We ended it all out at Bon Paul and Sharky's Hostile across the street. Late night foosball and hot tube action was looking good. Asheville is shaping up to be a favorite spot of ours and we expect many more adventures to come.
Thanks again to Max and Melany from the Root Bar....as well as Dave and Lauren from French Broad Brewery. Thanks for making us feel at home. We will see you soon!
