Current mood: accomplished
So the record release was a blast. Lots of folks came out, the gig was cool, and the after party rocked. I drank WAY too much, and suffered a nasty hang over the next morning. But hey, it's rock n' roll. My CD will be available for purchase on CD Baby in the next few days. I'm also working on getting the stuff up on itunes, etc.. So if you haven't picked up a copy yet, check in soon and there will be some info up on how to obtain a hot slice of Mikey cake.

So I got back from down unda around 6pm yesterday. It's odd, but I don't really have jet lag. I figure that might be because Clint and I pretty much took sleeping out of the schedule as we toured around the eastern part of the country. I wasn't exactly adjusted to any particular time schedule. In fact, right off of a 23 hr plane flight we hopped directly into his station wagon and drove about 5hrs to our first gig. I couldn't complain. The Australian landscape was such a beautiful thing to look at. The trip was a freakin' blast from start to finish. I got to visit the beautiful city of Melbourne, which I still can't pronounce properly. I think the natives there were genuinely impressed with my pale physique. My good friend Hillary showed me around the town and made sure I didn't get lost or lured away by strangers with candy. I also met Dale, one of the baddest guitar players, not only in Australia, but the world over I do believe. Clint and him were doing some recording sessions down there. I was mainly at the beach. Then it was back in the car for a series of fantastic gigs and a radio interview in the lovely city of Wagga Wagga. The people there were wonderful and they really knew how to get down with live music. It made me feel very welcomed indeed. The radio thing was a blast. My voice was a bit shot from singing, drinking, and swimming in a river (pants?) the night before, but I do believe it went over pretty well. Just some water and tea with whiskey to fix that one up right quick. I also had the pleasure of playing a show at Tumut highschool. That was SO MUCH fun. I think the kids were really thrown off by my American accent. Overall, I had a blast. My main man Clint and his brother Luke took wonderful care or me. Not to mention Clint's lovely mom, who put up with me sleeping in her living room and drinking all of her bottled waters, smiling all the while.

Dude, This has been the busiest past couple of weeks since I can recall. First and foremost, I've been tying up all the loose ends for my RECORD RELEASE show at The Baggot Inn. I'm glad I actually booked the date, because it gave me a deadline for finishing the record. No more messing with fonts in the CD jacket, figuring out a track order, deciding which picture makes me look the prettiest. It's all done and mailed out. I've also been working with a few new musicians in preparation for the big show. I'm really excited and nervous at the same time. It's going to be a blast. I hope you can make it! (and the after party at Society, 11pm...) My good friend Bryan Fenkart is playing before me, so be sure to come early. He's bad ass. And he's got nice thighs.
While all that's been going down, Clint Crighton, my crazy mate from Australia, has put together a small tour for me down unda. It's gonna rock. I can't wait to pet a kangaroo. Flying for 22 hrs on the other hand doesn't seem so appealing to me. It's crazy. I fly out on Feb. 16 at 5pm and arrive on the 18th. I actually lose a day of my life. But what's even weirder is that when I fly home from Sydney on the 25, I arrive back at NYC on the same date, at almost the same time. And the world keeps turning...
