Can't say why, but as of this writing it's completely true that right now it's not working properly, and I don't know when they'll have all the kinks worked out. So updates to the site may be sporadic until this all gets sorted out, but rest assured that I'm constantly working on the comic itself.

Much as I find the sudden blasting of music as you enter someone's MySpace profile to be both annoying and intrusive, I couldn't help but take a great amount of joy from the latest song from dear friend Archie Gates, "Achievement Unlocked." So I relented and added it to my page. Besides, I find the gentle piano to be much more inviting than your average profile tune. So enjoy! And do.... uh.... check out Archie's music.

I can't comment on my own profile because I'm not my friend. I can't become my own friend because..... I can't. MySpace doesn't..... hey, the spell-checker marks "MySpace." Uh.... anyway, MySpace doesn't reward self-esteem. How sad. How on Earth am I going to talk to myself now?! A true crime.

Get some damn pitching. Now, tomorrow, the off-season. Whenever. Just do it before next April. Get Arroyo back if you have to. Just make it happen.

A month later, it's still an election year. That means more random crap in the mail from stupid people posing as saviors. By which I mean politicians. We got another wonderful piece of mail today, this one from dear Neddy that goes as far as to tell us precisely which lever to pull when we, or rather, registered Democrats who will actually be voting in the primary, what freaking lever to pull when they actually take part in this. As if voters couldn't actually tell for themselves. It also directly tells us that Lieberman "flip flopped," a term I'd love to drag to the depths of Hell and personally execute. And on the other side, in case you haven't heard through the newsmedia or some other source, Lieberman is announcing that he's going to be running as an independent if he loses the Democratic nomination. Oh, but it's just "political insurance," not disloyalty to the party that he's supposed to be so loyal to or a sign that he's just a straight-up liar. Nope. And he recently had Bill Clinton over to try to gain support for him, for some reason. I guess as the most recent Democratic President, that somewhat makes sense. Anyway, safe to say that I still hate both candidates and politics in general. I'll bet I get a free prize if I collect three more flyers from these losers.

Well, political drama at any rate. So you may remember that around two weeks ago I went on a little rant about the senatorial campaign here in Connecticut. I made it clear that I hated both Democratic candidates equally, while at the same time not really caring about whoever that Republican guy who's running for office is. Well, the crisis got a wee update a few days ago, as a flyer arrived in our mail. On it were the words "don't be fooled by Lamont's ads," along with a buncha purdy pictures of ol' Joe Lieberman. Nice to know that they've now gotten the US Postal Service involved in their little pissing match. Looking at the thing, my mom asks me if I want to register as a Democrat to vote Lieberman out of office in the primary, whenever that is. So I tell her no, I'm happy with things the way they are. Still wish I'd saved a copy of the thing though, it looked very funny. Oh well, I'm sure he'll send out more as the election gets closer.

I find something remarkably amusing about the idea of an insecure stick figure. A character with only the most basic of appearances and seemingly no distinguishing characteristics other than the most basic of appearances. Especially one in a world of non-stick figures. Something just made me think that a character like that would have an attitude. When I first came up with the idea for the comic that just went up, it was supposed to be about the relative insignificance that my comic is stuck in right now, nobody showing up for a challenge that I had laid down. But I thought about it more and reached the conclusion that I thought the stick figure itself was the funniest part of the comic, at least to me. Of course, I ask other people about it and they don't always feel the same way. Bound to happen I guess, but Jason asked me why I didn't just use Mister Game & Watch (from Super Smash Bros. Melee, any of you who don't know) instead. He understood once I explained that any character with any actual name recognition wouldn't be as funny, but I still don't think the strip went over too well. But whatever. I guess nobody's forcing me to keep the figure or anything. Or get rid of it for that matter. Anyway, that's just a thought about today's comic.

Okay, so.... I usually just draw one comic a day. And you know, usually I can swing that. Take it at a nice leisurely pace, not too fast, not too slow. Today, however, I took it upon myself to work on a guest comic for one Nate Wootters of FAIL! Oh sure, I told myself that I didn't have to get it done today, that something like this didn't have to be done that quickly. But then I sped things up and ended up finishing both that comic and my regular comic in the same evening. And of course now me am tired. Even moreso because I had other stuff to do at the same time as this. And of course, his use of my comic is totally voluntary on his part. I learned this the hard way when I worked my ass off on a guest comic for a different site (which will go unnamed) that decided that instead of doing the guest strip thing like he planned to, he was just going to chuck the idea and skip a month's worth of updates. So yeah, unless mister Wootters replies directly to my email (oh WHY didn't I use a more direct subject line?!), there's always a bit of hand-wringing waiting for the recipient to decide that they actually want to use what you drew for them. Sure, I could post it on my own site, but that would detract from the joy of having your art approved by somebody else. So anyway, just felt like saying that. Had to update this thing with something anyway.....
