OK, so I just realized that two of my songs have been in the past two episodes of THE HILLS on MTV.com!!

'Wasted Words' is in episode 404, right around 4:49.

'Starting Over' is in episode 405, as the CLOSING CREDITS! Lauren and Audrina are crying, hugging...and my song is playing!! :)

Thank you everyone for your notes and friend requests about my song being on the Real World season finale!! It's been awesome hearing from all of you.

I've had lots of requests for lyrics for the new album, so here are some of the most requested. :) The entire album is on my website, julietlloyd.com/music.htm. Just click on any song title.

Come Tomorrow

You've been waiting on an answer
to something that's been on your mind
They tell you to be patient
that all will be revealed in time

So you keep on treading water
waiting for the tide to turn
and wondering all the while
when will it get easier?

[Chorus]
Come tomorrow
Come tomorrow
Come tomorrow
and leave today to yesterday

You're well aware of what you're missing
You count up every sacrifice you've made
But don't you ever stop believing
that it's worth it all someday

[Repeat Chorus]

Leave the Light On

You think you understand the world at seventeen
You think there's nothing standing in your way but time
But something happens in the minutes in between
and suddenly you've got to learn about goodbye

'cause it can bring you to your knees
to let somebody go

[Chorus]
You hold on just a little bit tighter
Don't ever let them out of your mind
and for those who are here
and those who are gone
every day and every night
You leave the light on
Leave the light on
Leave the light on

Even though you sometimes feel your heart might break
part of growing up is going it alone
So hold your breath and watch them make their own mistakes
and lie awake and pray they'll make it safely home

Though it can bring you to your knees
you've got to let them go

[Repeat Chorus]

Drive Away

I packed my bags for paradise
where all the dreamers go
I sold my soul for a one-way flight
and held on tight to hope

The local time read twelve-oh-three
we descended to the ground
At twelve fifteen I stepped outside
and the rain came pouring down

It's not the way everybody said things would go
So tell me why I'm soaking to the bone

[Chorus]
If you're heading in on the 405
and see nothing ahead but rain
drive away
If you're looking to find something better
save your dreaming for another day
and drive away, drive away

Maybe someday you'll pass me by
still standing in the rain
I'll be the one there standing on the corner of Sunset
and what might have been

It's not the way everybody said things would go
So tell me why I'm soaking to the bone

[Repeat Chorus]

In this installment...the track listing! The recording sessions!

First some background: I'm working with an amazing producer this time around - check him out at myspace.com/vibrantproductions or yanperchuk.com to hear his work. We recently spent some time at Rear Window in Brookline, MA, tracking basics and vocals with engineer Nate Dube (Susan Tedeschi, Godsmack).

Here's a little photo album from the sessions:

And here's the anticipated track listing! (not in order yet...)

Drive Away
Starting Over
City of Mine
Thing Called Love
You Never Know
Leave the Light On
Joanna
Wasted Words
One or the Other
Stay
Come Tomorrow

Coming up next time...pictures! And I'm currently working on a little video of some of our time in the studio, mostly with goofy shots of me messing up. Quality!

I was going to call this blog "The Deuce," seeing as it's the first of many updates on my second album...and then I thought the better of it, after hearing Michael Scott (of the best show ever on TV, The Office) in my head saying he was going to 'drop a deuce on everyone' at Casino Night. So although I'll be referring to my next album as 'the deuce' in my head from now on, I will spare all of you.

Anyway...I haven't been playing many shows lately, but many things have been going on behind the scenes. Songs have been written, tracks have been recorded, pictures have been taken...it's all very exciting! I have tons of stuff to share on the whole process, so I'll be posting some more blogs from here on out.

I'm going to start with some of the new songs, and some new videos to go along with them from a show I played last month. They are:

Leave the Light On (written about saying goodbye to a friend, having to grow up, and watching people change - how's that for vague?!)
One or the Other (written about the neverending battle between having time and having money)
Drive Away (written about a trip I took to L.A. last year)

And here are the videos! Enjoy!
