Hello lovelies! With Christmas upon us this week, I wanted to tell you all about a holiday project that I feel very blessed to be a part of. It is a holiday single called "Christmastime In The Poconos", and I was able to join with my good friend Gary Wehrkamp (producer/musician/songwriter) as well as other talented folks from my old stomping grounds in Pennsylvania to record the track. The cost of the song is $5 (digital), or $10 (hard copy), and proceeds from the song go to support Monroe County Children and Youth Services, a children's and youth advocacy group in Northeast Pennsylvania. For more information about the project, Monroe County Children and Youth Services, or where and how to purchase your copy, please visit www.thewishmakers.org. Below is a promotional music video for the song. Happy Holidays! Best, Trisha =)

Exactly 20 days until I make the move almost 13 hours away from the tiny mountain town I have come to know and love for the past 20 years, where I leave all of the friendships and interpersonal relationships I have developed both here and in the City of Brotherly Love, for the warm climate and country overtones of Nashville, TN. For those of you who know me intimately (and by "intimately", I mean my friends...you dirty birds, you...lol.), you know that I have had the same bedroom at my parents' house since I was 5 years old. Unicorns, castles, and ballerina pictures still adorn the walls, but they are now obstructed from view by stacks and stacks of cardboard boxes, containing the necessities of my life that I've accumulated up until this point. As strange as it may sound, nothing broke my heart more than having to pack away 20 years worth of stuffed animals. lol. There was something very symbolic in this for me. Once I left Philly to be back up in Northeast PA full-time, and would go on the road, there was something familiar and comforting about coming back to my folks' place, coming back to my own space, my own world, surrounded by the pink fairytale walls and plush companions. It allowed me to stay connected to something within myself, something I was too afraid to let go of. Maybe that's why I clung to old friends, old relationships, old emails, old letters, old everything. At 23, I had become a veritable "pack rat", keeping papers and trinkets that served no purpose, but that I was too afraid to let go of. Maybe that's why it took me so long to buy my own car, afraid that once I had to means to drive away, I would have to, in fact, drive away. An independent mind trapped in a very dependent body.
But for all the fears that moving forward meant I had to lose a piece of myself, I finally realized this was not the case. Things are simply that: things. True friends will always be your friends. And you can't meet the right person to share your life with if you refuse to let go of the ones who were wrong for you. Memories, life lessons, THESE are the things one can hold onto. THESE are the things one should take with them, as they enter into a new chapter. And the best part, these things don't take up valuable packing room in the car. lol.
So I approach this new adventure, not with fear, but with a sense of excitement and hope. I leave a foundation of love, friendship, and support to travel towards new friends, new creative endeavors, new career opportunities.
...but I'm still totally bringing my two Build-A-Bears. ...baby steps. lol.
Love, Trisha =)

My Performance at the Phillies Game... So, the day began with some iffy weather, travelling down to Citizens Bank Park I encountered a storm or two, but arrived thankfully to a very dry stadium. Unfortunately, I was there almost 3 hours prior to the game for my sound check, so there was plenty of time for anything to happen. ...and it did. lol. But I'll get to that. Post sound check, me and my folks (of course I had to include my parents in the day! A daughter singing at a baseball game? A dream for any dad, and a very special moment for any mom.) ate at McFadden's, a restaurant connected to the Phillies Offices. Gates opened, and we were able to enter the stadium. The weather held up, but began to get a bit dark. Then there was a sudden flash, and that was all she wrote. Lightning, thunder, and rain ---OH MY! And what a storm it was. I've never heard thunder so loud! I assumed it was due to the rumbling reverberating throughout the metal in the stadium, otherwise it was just an incredibly ferocious storm. We were coming up on an hour prior to the game, and it really looked like the day would be a wash. But the rain began to let up, and suddenly, the sun was out and shining, as if there hadn't been a storm at all. We sat down in our seats, and watched what was a very exciting game! My contact at the Phillies told me to meet with her at the end of the 5th Inning to get me situated down near the field. So, the time came, I left mom and dad, and went down the elevators into the underbelly of the stadium. They set me up in the posh "Star Dressing Room", where I sat nervously and tried to get into the "zone". I was scheduled to sing during the 7th Inning Stretch, and let me tell you, the 6th Inning FLEW BY! Next thing I know I'm standing at the entrance to the field, right by the Pirates' (opposing team for that day) dugout. I walked up the small flight of stairs (with my legs that have now turned to jelly) and proceeded to get situated in front of my mic stand. The announcer gave me a very lovely introduction, and I started the song. I remembered every word, and hit every note, and when I was finished, heard the cheers and applause of 40, 030 people. It was surreal, and an experience I won't soon forget. Many thanks to everyone who made the day such a success! Thanks to Helen Leicht from WXPN for the opportunity to represent their great station, as well as John, Chris, and Jody from the Phillies Organization. And last but not least, thanks to my mom and dad for being there with me! Congrats to the Phillies, who beat the Pirates 5-1 that day! Best, Trisha =)

I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who was a part of the HUGELY SUCCESSFUL GoGirls Philly Fest last night at World Cafe Live! Many thanks to Madalyn for creating such a great community for female rockers. And I applaud Deb, Lynn, and Nancie for putting together such a great event! To all the amazing women I shared the stage with last night, truly an honor. =)
The biggest thanks goes to everyone that came out to support our cause! With a packed house full of devoted music fans, there was a lot of love in the room! We were able to raise $2,000 for this year's selected charity, CaringBridge.org, a company that offers free websites to families during health crises. I was thrilled to be a part of such a memorable evening!
It just goes to show, when women come together in song to make a difference, a difference can be made! Why? CUZ CHICKS ROCK!

Hello lovelies! Many thanks to those who sent birthday wishes, or were there to take part in the festivities of what was a truly wonderful birthday weekend!
It started with my show with Andrew Lipke and Lizanne Knott at the Underground in Philly. I promoted it as an evening with good friends, great music, and cupcakes ---and it was just that! After some mass consumption of pink cupcakes by all in the room, and a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday, it was time to start the show!
Lizanne took the stage and played a beautiful set, with her delicate voice and strong songwriter presence, she is now officially one of my favorite artists. Glenn backed her up on guitar, and I had the distinct pleasure of joining her on her tune "Jesus or Elvis" to bust out some harmonies. If you aren't familiar with Lizanne or her music, I highly recommend you check her out: www.myspace.com/lizanneknott
Then, it was my turn to play...I guess it would be pretty strange for me to say how awesome I was. ...But you can imagine. lol. Mr. Andrew Lipke came up to join me on guitar for "Wasting My Time", and it was quite the good time. Then, after some random talk with the audience about a CSI episode involving "furries" (which left us all astounded about just how much we knew on the topic. lol.), it was time for Andrew to take the stage.
He sweetly allowed me to choose his entire set, since it was my birthday, and offered the privilege to perform with him on any song I chose. Of course, he rocked the house as usual. He even performed the ABBA classic "Fernando", at my request. (For those of you who don't know, I'm a HUGE ABBA fan.)
It was a great night! But it wasn't over then. The next day I had to prepare to travel up to NYC for my set at the Bitter End. I again was able to connect with some of my beautiful friends, and the set was pretty killer too. =)
So there you have it, my birthday weekend in a nutshell. And I spent it the only way I would've wanted to: playing music and spending time with friends.
Thanks to all those who helped to make this birthday great!
Best, Trisha =)

House parties...people are having 'em, and I'm playin' them! Are you hosting a holiday party in the coming months? Maybe you're hosting a "Just Because" shindig! Either way, why not turn your house party into a HOUSE CONCERT? Better yet, why not turn your HOUSE into a COFFEEHOUSE, and be a part of my "Instant Coffee House Tour"! Here's how it works: * You have a room or place in your home that can handle at least 30 people with adequate parking and bathrooms, etc. (average size room is good with bathroom on same floor as that room) * After we book a date, you host the event buy inviting your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. ---THE MORE THE MERRIER! * My performance fee can be easily recouped by either charging a door price, asking for donations, or as the event host, you can pay me outright. * I'll show up with guitar in hand, you provide some coffeehouse fare (beverages and desserts), and we'll party on till the coffee runs out! If you're interested, send an email to: artistrelations@trishaokeefe.com! (I am also available for corporate events!)

Hello lovelies!
So, what a whirlwind week it has been! On Tuesday, my good friend Tara and I road-tripped it up to Boston/Cambridge for my show at Club Passim, but also to see our friend Carrie. Carrie is one of the first friends I ever had...we met on the school bus. How cute is that?! It was so enriching to get to reconnect with her, and as always, it was a blast and a half to hang out with Tara. Boy, did we laugh! Thank you ladies, for making the trip so memorable. I also got to have dinner with my mom and dad's high school chum, Johnny. It was an enlightening experience to know just what kind of cloth I'm cut from. Don't worry, it's quite a fine fabric indeed! =)
And MANY thanks to my MySpace frands who came out to Club Passim to show their support! The room was full of love, good vibes, and great music from all who participated in the Open Mic. It was just what I needed to be a part of! Hope to have the same experience when I return to Cambridge for the Campfire Festival at Club Passim in September! (check the shows section for more info!)
Next, it was off to Connecticut to play a slot at the Agricultural Fair! Thanks to everybody who stopped by to watch the performance! "Connecticutians" are lovely folks! My only disappointment: there wasn't enough time for me to grab some funnel cake before it was off to the next destination!
So, THANK YOU NEW ENGLAND, for showing this Pennsylvania girl some love! I look forward to the next time I get to travel up to this beautiful region!
All The Best,
Trisha =)

Hello Lovelies - I just got back from sunny L.A., after taping a performance and interview on the emmy-nominated television show SoapTalk, with hosts Ty Treadway (of the soap opera "One Live to Live") and Lisa Rinna (of "Melrose Place", "Days Of Our Lives" and "Dancing with the Stars" fame). More details about the show's air-date TBA.
It was a really trippy experience. The show tapes in one of the original studios of the 1920s, it's also the place where the show "American BandStand" called home. The studio shares the lot with the sets for FX's "The Shield" and ABC's "Grey's Anatomy". I got to tour both sets, which was very cool indeed. Didn't get to run into Patrick Dempsey, sadly. Someday, my darling, someday...lol.
Travelling with me was my best friend of 17 years, LeRoy. First off, I asked him to come along because he is quite possibly one of the funnest people in the whole wide world! Secondly, it was his birthday, and I thought, what a GREAT present for one of the greatest friends!
The show sent a limo to come pick me up at my hotel to take me to the studio. Then I went in for hair and makeup while I watched them tape their rehearsal show. I even got my own dressing room with my name on the door! (do I sound like "country mouse" yet? lol.) Afterwards we did a little bit of sight-seeing on Sunset Boulevard and Rodeo Drive.
It was too short of a visit, but LeRoy and I both had a great time!
Looking forward to more travels in the near future!
All the Best, Trisha =) P.S. Scroll over the pictures in the slideshow to read the captions.
