We seem to average about 7 to 8 months between blogs which is somewhat lame, but we just seem to be constantly on our toes and unless somebody would like to offer their services and manage our site for us, then it ain't gonna change...sadly! Oh well, for now, we're back! Hello!
The shooting of our first filmclip went ahead in April/May this year at Eurotrash with a cast of about 45 and a crew of 30. It was a very inspiring, creative and fantastic experience all round, and ran surprisingly smoothly given that film sets are notoriously problematic, especially with so many bodies on this one!
Check out the documentary that was made about the experience - it's incredibly funny and interesting...
Richard Di Gregorio directed with the assistance of Eddie Beyrouthy, who, together with a very talented crew worked wonders and made the experience a totally memorable one. Steve Edwards came on board as editor and motion graphics designer and the rest is history! Make sure you check out the results on our page, or go to you tube and look for it there! It's been really well received so far, I think most people are surprised at how professional and slick it looks.
We launched the video, also at Eurotrash, on July 27, marking our first ever sold out gig. The night was brilliant, despite being exhausted from the amount of work and time that was poured into getting it up and running.
Since then we have been in savage business mode, working towards getting the video on TV and getting our new digipak single of 'Sabotage' (a CD Rom which includes the video) out to the right people! We've also been applying for grants, entering festivals, rehearsing and constructing a new music event called 'Rock De'Lectro' which will tour to Sydney.
So as you can see, we haven't really stopped, and meanwhile - we're just about to perform at The Evelyn for the first time, followed by our debut at Pony and then The Northcote Social Club 2 weeks in a row....
All this, along with the welcome addition of DJ Babysteve on keyboards - things have never been more exciting!
Stay Tuned...

Considering 8 months has passed since our last update, you might guess that quite a bit has happened.
Last August's Revolver gig was a huge success and sealed an ongoing comradeship with fellow groovers 'Glovebox' who have since joined The Minority on stage at least 5 times. Other note worthy gigs since have included 'Six Degrees of Separation' at The Greyhound, a packed out event of incredible artists, plus a subsequent Revolver slot with Sydney transgender outfit 'Dread Circus'.
And aside from the usual Melbourne gigs, The Minority have spent a lot of time in recent months recording at Sing Sing studios with Producer Chris Corby (Deepface).
The first single, a re-recording of the track 'Sabotage' will be available soon with an accompanying video clip (currently in pre-production for an April shoot at Melbourne's own Eurotrash in China Town).
The decision to release 'Sabotage' as the first single as opposed to 'I Just Eat Cake' was made earlier this year after careful re-evaluation with the band's producer. Whether or not 'Cake' becomes the follow up single remains to be seen.
Plans for the 'Sabotage' video have already been described as "extremely sexy" and "full of attitude".
There is also talk of a Sydney tour in the coming months, so keep checking back for more info!

Hi Everyone. Thanks for reading. Just when we thought we had a quiet spell, things are suddenly busier than ever.
A 6 week advertising campaign is about to commence in aid of our biggest show so far. We're proud to announce that we've been confirmed to headline at Revolver on Chapel St, August 31st. We'll be playing with a fantastic group called 'Glovebox' who have just toured the USA, winning awards and topping the American charts along the way! They're the most suitable 'fit' in terms of style that The Minority will have ever played with. We're very excited, it's gonna be one wicked party of retro-electro mayhem!
Either side of the major Revolver slot, we've had gig offers galore including a return to The Rob Roy Hotel on August 13, with girl group 'Violette' headlining. September shows at The Commercial Hotel and Bar Open are to be announced at a later date. So needless to say, we're keeping busy not only with gigs, but also festival applications, radio spots (tba), plans for our first tour and fundraising for the ever delayed promo music video "I Just Eat Cake". Stay tuned...
