12-26-08 I was just coming in to my neighborhood about 10:30 PM which had power (not sure how long they had it back) As we make a comment about it and the power BLACKS OUT... we had to look for my ID in the dark in my mess. We don't know why we are whispering
I thought BLACK Friday was AFTER THANKSGIVING, not the day after CHRISTMAS!

Video of the rain here on Oahu on December 11th and 13th from my house. I had to add the duck in at the beginning to help with the length... just kidding, I had to add him cause he's so cute. The music is by Amy Hanaiali'i, one of Hawaii's top female vocalist. The song is Have You Ever Seen The Rain off her latest CD, AUMAKUA.

Well, I did it... I found my little duck girl in the middle of South Carolina with a hope and a prayer. For those who don't know the story...
When I got into Charleston last Monday we called our friend who we gave Charlie Girl to before we transfered to Hawaii in August 2007. They really weren't trying to find a new home for Charlie but Miss Louise is friends with our friends' Aunt who lives near Aiken, SC and was telling her about Charlie girl since Miss Louise had ducks. Miss Louise said if they ever needed to find a new home for Charlie she would LOVE to have her... So since she showed a real heart felt desire to include Charlie Girl with her other feathered family members Charlie was off to have more friends and attention. The timing... the WEEKEND BEFORE we got into town!! I did try to call before we left Hawaii, but she never returned my call. If she was in Charleston while we were there I'm sure I would have wanted to spend every day with her and my friends and parents wouldn't be too happy with me.... So I guess it works out for the right reasons. Plus she's not too far out of the way from Atlanta to Charleston. Just got to take the pretty roads~ Or at least this time of year it was pretty with the changing leaves.
I Wish I had the VIDEO camera when we first saw her. Before we got to see her, She heard me. I called for her and a few moments later - almost like she was in shock- she called back for me~ I burst into tears. The lady wasn't at home, so we went to lunch, drove back out to the farm and got to see her. The best part.... She did remember me. The sad part.... she didn't want to follow me, she followed Miss Louise.
I did post photos in my "THE DUCK" album for those who would like to check them out... When we left Charleston it was before NOON... before 9:30AM, so I didn't do anything but roll out of bed, put on what was next to the bed and found my way to the car....

Current mood: thankful
OK... so we had a lot of fun, but a few problems along the way, but because of "TWIN POWERS" we were able to make things work... 1, I realized that my battery on my camcorder was DEAD... 2 My CF card for MY D300 wasn't IN MY camera... (So no photos) except a few from the Sony Point and Shoot... those don't come out all that great compared to the Nikon.... And then after the show I spent $400 on CDs!! (19 of the same one) We had a great time, headed down stairs for MORE fun, stayed a little longer than we hoped and had to pay $6.50 to get out... I SWEAR it use to be like $2 if we stayed over an hour... And poor Mike had to pay $10... and backed into a pole with his NEW CAR... but, despite some of the crazy things, we had a BLAST!!! THANKS for all those who made it out to see the show... it was a nice full crowd and Danny performed over time...
Happy Birthday my twin (with a different birthday) We still have the rest of the month to celebrate (right?)
