Fear its all with in us whether its  the fear on the emotional side or the physical!

the fear I am writing about is defiantly physical..  for some people  its hight mine is water.. I don't let myself let this fear override my life, but its still a deep fear.. it stems from a child hood almost drowning experience. I still feel the safest in water if I know I can touch the bottom.. I am not the greatest swimmer but I due know my limits.. I still river raft, I tried water skiing but  take all safety precautions... and most of all I don't let myself panic like when I was five...

When I was five I went out on a raft with a friend on a pond, back behind the old nursing home ..
I think it was in the fall  I was wearing jeans and rubber boots..
not thinking  and I stood up to tie the raft  to a branch over my head .. the raft moved I lost my balance and what I  remember is my  arms flailing trying to get out of the water while my boots were filling up ,.and pulling me down I know I screamed I could here my friend trying to help me as he was screaming for his mom..  he managed to get a raft over too me, and calm me down enough to grab on.
I pulled myself boots and all, out of the water.
His mom made it there very angry with us but happy we were alive..
She through me in the tub and sent me home in his close...
the rafts were taken out of the pond I felt awful  by the fact the other kids couldn't play on them..

my next near drowning  experience happened as an adult , yes me not thinking again,
I was going down a little section of the nisqually river  on a  tube with my daughter on my lap, we were headed for a rock, the river was fairly low (thank god)  and i decided to push off of it with my feat,, not a smart choice it flipped are tube over and pulled us under, I didn't panic i grabbed the tube under one arm Heidi under the other fighting the current pushed as hard as i could and shot straight up out of the water and preceded to carry Heidi and myself out of the river with the tube i still remember her reaction , I am thinking i am going to scar my daughter with my fear but know at the time she hated getting her head wet  not even splashed so she looked at me with this disbelief look and said " you got my head wet" where i just started busting up laughing as my friends down at the river were still trying to make it over to our rescue and asked "if we were ok"

I don't let this fear rule my life or let it prevent me from having fun in the water.. but anyone who try's to hold me down in water better be prepared for a screaming slashing hitting bitch when i come out.. I will jump before anyone has a chance to push me because I have to choose to go in..and prepare myself to overcome my fear..

my other fear is birds, don't have an explanation for that fear.. far away is fine but swooping is like some peoples fear of mice or snakes or spiders

On Thursday October 18th Western Washington was hit with a 50+ MPH wind storm. Here are my pictures of the event.

After work I made my way down to the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park where I witness the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry taking a pounding.

These Issaquah 130 Class ferries are over 300 feet long and 78 feet wide and weight in at 2477 tons (4,954,000 lbs) unloaded......

I'll start with some Rock & Roll..

Ok, here's one for you Long Flume lovers...

During storms like this the crew plots a course which puts the ferry in the least vulnerable position, but at some point they have to change course, and when they did
Puget Sound made up for lost time.

After this run the ferry system stopped running at full capacity and ran 1/2 empty for the rest of the night.

Note that there are no longer cars visible in the last shot. I'm sure they were washed into the cars behind them

Each shot was taken 0.3 seconds apart hand held at 320mm's.

I'm glad you guys liked them; I was amazed at what I saw through the lens. During the wind storm I like to go down to the Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo and watch the ferries, but I've never seen a ferry take a hit like that. After this run they added a 3rd ferry and ran them 1/2 empty.

okay , yesterday was a waste of time. I got up early headed to tacoma picked up a friend went to the Tacoma Dome station to take the bus to downtown...

got to downtown seattle just fine.. But could not find the adress of where I was going...so after walking up pine for a while we asked for directions to get there in a little hole in the wall coffee house.. they said if we walked all the way down Broadway it would turn into tenth ave.. it did but it was 10th east.. we even walked down it for a while .. then with a couple of minutes left on our transfer we got back on the bus and headed over 20 blocks back to where we were when we asked for directions.. and " did I mention the cool bus driver got it straight" we walked up a couple of blocks and then we were there...

oh that's not the end of my storry.. we were late but we found our class we were going to take.. with the lights out no one home inside.. there were confused people outside wondering what happened to our class..

class was schedualed at ten by eleven and not being able to get a hold of anyone we bussed it back to the Tacoma dome station... I made it home by 2:00 but most my day was a waste...

this is the short version.. moral to story asking for directions doesn't
always help!(LOL) except bus drivers (LOL)

continued... found out today they moved the class to a closer location to where we originally got off the bus.."wouldn't that figure" are rep didn't call us... wouldn't that figure the whole group waiting outside was all under her 'reps'

Okay I took a new picture of one of my garden friends. I would like to say he's huge like the picture but instead Iwill have to say hes  the size of the tip of my finger. but honestly I can say he sits still better than some of my other garden friends...(LOL)

So here is a picture of Mr Snail. When I was putting him back, I noticed his smaller friend sitting next to him.,The picture was taken in the palm of my hand...

Another one of my friends I keep trying to get a great close up of is Mr. Squirl my bulb bandits...I would like to say I only have one but I have alot of sqirls that visit due to the fact the neighbor feeds them and the like my yard to dig up and store there food...but here is an intresting pick of one in my fountain...

And then there is Mr. Jay  (actualy theres three) but they all don't like there picture taken, so I have a bad picture because they are always teasing me with a perfect shot then fly to a new spot... when I am ready to take the picture!

One of thease days I will win the strugle...
