All shows at Rasher Tierney's, front and back bar, are now 21 and up only. This is effective immediately, even if a show was previously advertised as 18 and up. I apologize for this, however, as a venue that serves alcohol we must adhere to all local laws and ordinances.

Hello all,
Again, thank you to all the fans and the bands that continue to keep the local scene thriving here in the area!
However, a little bad news is in order. As of late - my life has gotten a bit overwhelming. Work has become extremely demanding and as a single dad of 2. I have found my free time become non-existent. Lately it has given me no time/opportunity to devote to my love of booking and promoting these shows. While I love doing it so much, I just can't give it the attention it deserves at the moment.
Don't be alarmed. We ARE NOT, repeat - NOT stopping the shows here. I just need a little break to get a little more balance back in my life. Therefore I'm probably going to do one show in November, and one show in December. I fully expect to be back up and running in the new year. I hope everyone understands
So thank you...and we'll see you soon!
Cheers,
Ben /// Rasher Tierneys

Well, we've been having a lot of success in offering a diverse choice in entertainment here.
Karaoke is doing great, our DJ(ay) is pumping the floor every weekend and the back room keeps rocking every friday..so now what? What can we try that's new to add? Glad you asked...
We are now going to start hosting a regular open mic night every thursday in the back bar from 8:00 till whenever. So if you've been dying to get up and recite that new poem or piece that you've been wanting to share..now is the time. If you've got a guitar and no band? Well, come on down..play here. Comedian? Spoken Word? Interpretive nude dancer? Bring it on - we've got a night for you now.
Hope to see you there!

You can take the boy out of Bradenton...
Chuck Ragan will be doing a special intimate accoustic performance live in the front bar of Rasher Tierneys on tuesday night, may 15th. Directly following his opening set for FLOGGING MOLLY at Jannus Landing.
Chuck is eager to hit his hometown and play for all the friends, fans and family that were there from the start. I have a funny feeling that this show will go down in the record books...
Better tell a friend!

Just a thank you to all the bands who have been playing here and all the people in the area who have been making the Back Room a huge success!
Shows just keep getting better and better - I'm looking forward to this summer's schedule. We'll even be having another rip-roarin' Bradentucky Bombers benefit mid-summer as well!
Special thanks to Thomas, the owner - for his continued support of local music. (and for happily coming up with money to pay the bands on slow nights, and quietly replacing the occasional smashed-out window on saturday mornings!)
Also, big thanks to Wheat - my savior of a sound tech, who stepped in to help when issues prevented me from attending all the shows. Buddy, I'm so grateful for ya' and the bands love you! I think you might be the official mascot of the backroom!
Also to Keith and the other awesome bartenders for keeping everybody sudsy and rockin'!
Finally to my homeboys in the printed page - Wade Tatangelo, Scott Harrell, Joran Oppelt (SMAflorida.com) and Cooper Lee-Baker. You guys have been vital in getting the word out!
Well, I promise many many more great shows in the coming months....we'll see you at the back room!
-Ben

Well, today is an exciting day. I am pleased to say that the rock at Rasher Tierneys is officially underway.
You may be wondering why I chose to leave Rockerfellas (however, if you actually played at R-fellas - you probably don't need an explanation) Well, it was lack of care and support. Plain and simple. That and a fair amount of shadiness as well. Rockerfellas approached me and said they wanted to rejuvenate their image as a hip rock club and asked if I would help.
I said I would on the grounds of a few conditions. All good ones mind you. (clean up the club, fix the bathrooms, start advertising, etc...) They promised to, but nothing was ever done. They constantly changed to rules of the game/pay/benefits for bands as well. And most importantly...now matter how good the lineup is, no one wants to pay $6 to sit in a nasty, smelly dive located right next door to Club Heat. The odds were just stacked against me.
Enter Thomas and the gents of Rasher Tierneys. Thomas loves the music, loves the fans, & loves the scene. When I proposed this plan of converting the brand new back room into a live-music oriented enviroment - he jumped on board without question. He has spent a fair amount of money so far already investing in this and will be doing even more in the coming months. So rest assured..we're just getting started and it's only gonna get better! Here's to some great shows!
