"First Steps" and "Stay" are not finished yet, but I wanted to share with you what is coming down the road. These two songs are just a sample of the nine I have been working on. (although lately I haven't been able to really work on them at all, lol)

"First Steps" captures the pride and sadness one feels at the loss of innocence as a child grows an learns. As a parent, one longs for them to learn and advance but sheds a tear for the innocence that is lost in the process.

"Stay" encapsulates the feeling one experiences in the last few sweet moments before you know you must part.

I hope you enjoy.

Please let me know what you think, and what the songs say to you.

Ok.. I don't have any to SELL, but you can follow this process to have one:

1. Purchase and download the tracks from my Snocap store on my myspace page.

2. Open them all in iTunes (or any other music software)

3. Get yourself a blank, burnable CD

4. Burn the tracks to a CD!

5. Place in car or stereo and commence listening pleasure.

WOW! I can't believe the response I am getting from my piano music!! Thank you for commenting on it!

I have received many requests from music lovers to hear some of my music. The only things I had ready to upload and share were a few of my piano songs. So, I threw up a couple and BLAMMO! People like them! I don't believe it!

Because of this, people have been asking a lot of questions about my songs. So.... Here are the questions and the answers (if you care) lol.

1. Is that REALLY you playing?
- Yes that is me playing on my piano.

2. Did you write those songs?
- Yes, I wrote all of the songs that are up on my myspace music site.

3. Do you have more?
- Heck yeah. I have many more songs that I am working on recording.

4. Are there lyrics?
- Surprisingly, I have received this question more about "Sanctuary" than any other song.  There are no lyrics to any of my piano music.  I just try to go for emotion.  Certain emotions just can't be expressed in words.  I try to write music for those feelings.  I hope that the listener can exerience that same emotion, yet at the same time have them interepret it in their own way.  Then I give a short title that offers the listener a hint about what that emotion is.  If I put lyrics to the songs then I would force the listener to "see it my way" and that is not my goal.  Poetry should never need an explaination.

5. Can I get the sheet music?
- Heh, I would love to share the sheet music but it is all in my head.  There is no sheet music, but I am working on it.

6. Do you have a CD and when will it be out?
- I am working on perfecting the songs and recording them in my home in Rhode Island.  I am working as hard as I can on it but, unfortunately, my job forces me to spend many a day on the road and it is very hard to focus on music when you don't have your instruments nearby.

7. When did you start playing?/Did you take lessons?
- I have not taken lessons on the piano. I had a lot of free time when I was 13/14 and there was a piano in the house. So, I started figuring out how to play songs by ear. I used to play for hours and hours every day. Then I just started writing my own stuff. Before I knew it I had enough for an album, but didn't have the ability to make one. Now I do... so I will.

8. Did you write them down or are they just in your head?
- I keep them all in my head, which is kind of scary. If anything happens to me, the songs die too. Hence why I am trying to record them.

9. What inspires you?
- Primarily the feeling I get from being home with my family. (After all, that is where my piano is, lol) Spending time with them and watching us all grow and learn are usually the themes of my songs. I also gain inspiration from the natural beauty of the four seasons.

Well, there you go! Thanks for the interest and all of the compliments. That gives me the strength and confidence to actually try and get an album out there to share.

Once again... THANK YOU for your support and showing interest in the "Grant" beyond the show.

"Last Leaf of Autumn" is a lullaby for the trees. It also evokes the silent victory of solitary endurance.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Just posted two news clips of songs I am working on.

Homecoming
This is inspired by the anticipation of home and family that I get on the plane ride home after traveling.

First Steps
This is inspired by the mixed feelings of pride and loss when we advance and mature. With each new step comes the death of innocence left behind.

Please let me know what you think.

Sanctuary was inspired by the safe haven that comes from having a loving wife.

This song means a lot to me. It was inspired by the freedom that can come with death. An odd concept to most, but to those who understand, this song will hopefully ring true to you.

Please let me know what you think.

Well, the whole CD thing was just too daunting, so I decided to try out an online store. Snocap (the company that is hosting the store) is very respectable and are all about helping people spread their music without it costing a fortune. There is no need to worry, they won't do anything funny with your money.

I have eight tracks up there now including "Snow" which has never been posted before, and I have many more tracks to be posted soon.

I love this way of offering the songs, hopefully you will too. It allows you to pick whichever tracks you like and grab them whenever is convenient for you.

So, I hope this works out nicely for everyone. Enjoy the songs and let me know how this service works out.

All the best, and thanks for the support!

The store is located right on my myspace page.
