Sinister Moustache:

Brief Sound Description: Sinister Moustache performs cinematic nightmarish orchestrations that blend prog, metal, jazz, ambiance, and other genres into dynamic compositions.  Their sound swaps between strange and atomospheric, to cartoony, to brutal and climatic, reflecting influences such as King Crimson, Mike Patton, Frank ZappaThe Melvins, Clutch, Herbie Hancock, Dream Theater, and Nintendo Music.

Brief Bio:  Sinister Moustache formed in 1999 and has become known as a solid, professional act delivering tight performances and an easy to work with attitude.  The band was formerly known as Gravy, until 2006 when they chose Sinister Moustache and launched into intense promotions.  The band has performed in cities such as Asheville, Athens, Charleston, Atlanta, Johnson City, Jacksonville, Savannah, and beyond, at venues such as the Cotton Club in Atlanta, GA and with acts as varied as Mastodon, Hellblinki Sextet, and LOA Jazz Trio.

You can download any of the songs from their album for free off of thewebsite,

Sinister Moustache: Songs From The Super-Sargasso Sea

From Savannah, GA and the remains of the band Gravy, comes a unique 4 piece, self dubbed "Experimental Metal Fusion" band now known as Sinister Moustache. Their new CD entitled Songs From The Super-Sargasso Sea is a 10 track adventure into the intricate, utterly entertaining and highly creative world of anything BUT corporate music….and thank god! As self described, "think King Crimson playing Nintendo with Slayer in Herbie Hancock's basement"! Now, I couldn't have said it better myself.

Sinister Moustache is basically an instrumental band and if you are one that enjoys the lyrical expression, you will NOT miss it at all with the 'Stache. Frank Zappa-ish humor and reckless abandon musical chops with '70's Prog Rock sensibilities in the vein of Gentle Giant or early Genesis and Metal grooving and heaviness of Black Sabbath and Faith No More, make this record almost impossible to take out of your CD player. Quirky and majestic, Sinister Moustache also remind me of the Maryland area juggernaut that is the mighty Bolt. From wacky noises to keyboards to meticulous rhythms all over the place, Sinister Moustache turn in some rather amazing musical performances through out "S.F.T.S.S.S.". Band members; Pat Hamilton (keyboards & noise), Eric Eckman (bass), Jason Christensen (drums & percussion) and Steve Lester (Guitar & Keys) flex their collective muscle whether it be the bombastic CD opener, "Colostomy Man" or the eerie Metallic CD closer, "Conqueror Worm". These guys have a greatly fun record to listen to from top to bottom.

Never boring or predictable is what makes Sinister Moustache so much fun to listen to. Hypnotic with out of this world melodic thought passages make Songs From The Super-Sargasso Sea just an amazing record. Peculiar? Absolutely. These guys are down right brilliant. If you like fun, smart, well executed, Metal tinged Fusion done in a unique and original way, then Sinister Moustache will soon be your CD players best new friend! To be blunt, these guys ROCK!
