Plastique de Reve has been going on for a while, you can imagine him lounging in a sofa of the gigolo manor, picking bits of meat from between his teeth with a switchblade while the asymmetric crowd got down under a rococo chandelier, yeah, whenever Plastique de Reve appears in our radar we know it is time for dancefloor carnage. We have fond memories of sweaty headbanging to the classic hip hop acid styles of ‘Do it’ as played by Optimo in Primavera 05, and we have been known to wiggle wobbly to their jacking remix of Future Forward’s ‘Welcome 2 Chicago’, just to mention a couple. No overcompressed bullshit or concessions to the beat de jour, no respect for genres, just pure unadulterated sweaty energy flash and speaking in the furious tongues of tribal dance mania. Plastique de Reve doesn’t do disco, he does the disco in, vicious. But don’t take my word for it, juts listen to the stonking Lost in the City/Resist, out in DFA’s import imprint Death from Abroad. Resist isn’t classy. Resist cracks the floor mercilessly with a beastly rhythm exterminator somewhere in between Giorgio Moroder and Nitzer Ebb, while Radical Cheerleaders shoot their fists in the air in true old skool Baltimore style, abnormal arpeggiated bleeps tumble upon us like random mutterings from a deranged god of technological thunder, all coming together layer after layer of sublime mind-numbing simplicity so that all those kids in the dancefloor who walk the walk can lose their shit, and crack their knees, in true no-style style.

"So Many Things" : probably one of the best Acid House track i have heard for a long time. This groovy tb 303 bassline meets a mental electro beat.the result : essential acid house for those who know.
Plastique De R..ve "Don't Be Afraid" .. moebius rex on livejournal.com
It's a pretty basic sort of acid house track I suppose, but what drives this slinky little vehicle of course is that hypnotic female voice that chants don't be / afraid / to come / and drink my love before launching into a sexyexplicit rap of sorts that rapidly covers a wide range of naughty images, actions, and especially positions, getting raunchier and raunchier with every line. I can imagine this song might clear the dancefloor somewhat--not because it's bad, but because it's inspired a few folks to find a quiet place to engage in a lusty session of the ol' horizontal mambo instead. Of course as you might expect, this release comes from Plastique De R..ve, a Swiss artist currently signed to the International Deejay Gigolo label*, which seems to have a determined focus on the sort of club music that always shows up on adult-oriented HBO documentaries like "Porn 101" and "Real Sex," if not actual porn films. But hey, I'm not complaining. Anything that gets the juices flowing is a winner in my book.
Plastique De Reve ..Voodoo Kit..
A blistering 12" release on the growing 7B label. An un-corny (thank god) sexy & distorted female vocal runs over an acidic monster full of all the essential moans and groans on the A, and the flip provides us with another relentless number.

My favorite single of the year n.9 : Plastique de R..ve, Voodoo Kit EP, 7B Records. Christophe Dasen, aka Switzerland's own Plastique de R..ve, is responsable for two of hip house best tracks ever : "Rod..o M..canique" and "Do It!", the greatest things Salt N Peppa never recorded. This year, he was behind the most fucked-up acid house you'll ever, ever hear on the Voodoo Kit EP. "Don't Be Afraid" has a woman panting and moaning about getting her pussy eaten out over what I can only call contemporary acid house (nothing retro about it) - and it last for almost ten minutes, just like any good cunnilinctus should last. On the flip, "Go Jack Me Auto" is probably about jerking off (all the best songs are : The Divinyls anyone ?!), but the vocals are so fucking weird it is impossible to say exactly. But who cares, because with a beat like that, anyone will know how to get their groove on. Do it !
The Swiss Chalet is Burning Down
The Swiss delegation was in town to tear down some major dancefloor bizness yesterday. Plastique de R..ve was an acid lover's dream, with an amazing set of "just hard enough" electro that kept the crowd asking for more. - blogspot.com

1000 Amazon Fighters deliver the remix here, of Plastique De R..ve aka Christophe 'Daze' Dasen's track 'Don't Be Afraid'. Plenty of acid and an interesting arrangement, plus some sultry (ahem) norty spoken bits. 'Go Jack Me Auto' on the flip keeps some acid but goes for some rave-style shouts and touches plus kooky synths over a solid whumping electro-house rhythm section. Pumping.
DANY RODRIGUEZ & PLASTIQUE DE REVE - 'CAROCHA' (DESTINATION)
Deep yet rhythmic the electro-prog Plastique De R..ve mix is like a post Jean-Michel Jarre drugged-out trip, complete with 303 licks, trancey synths, out-of-control bleeps, ambient fx and ethereal vocal.

Plastique de reve kick it off with "do it! "
Electro mayhem is here and PDR is packing it into this track by the bucketload. Really hard to describe this one, the vocals sound like a 80s hip hop track, but I cannot be sure. One thing I can be sure of is that this track is amazing stuff, if this was dropped anywhere the dancefloor would fill and would stay full until the last groove is played. A pure genius blend of hip hop vocals and a ear filling electro bassline. So so recommended. People have to hear this.

Future Forward: Welcome 2 Chicago, on Uniquedist.com
Future Forward is a new brand of Chicago Jack"stylemusic conceived by Matt Nee who recently appeared on DJ Hell's ubiquitous Intl Deejay Gigolo label. Features a remix from Plastique De Reve who's singles have smashed the electro scene to pieces.

Future Forward is a new hybrid of Chicago "jack". Obviously, the concept is to create modern acid house that goes back to its earliest roots. Vocals on these tracks will remind you of Marshall Jefferson and are guaranteed to take you waaay back to the times of Fast Eddie. Plastique De Reve's mix is sooooo old school hip house Chicago jack, you gotta love it!!!! Being caned by Felix Da Housecat, DJ Hell and Tiga.
Alison Tara, www.turntablelab.com
Gigolo affiliate Plastique de Reve has always delighted 20JFG with his jackin' take on Chicago house, which in the Spanish guy's opinion totally beat the excessively po-faced pseudo-acid goth revival that Ivan Smagghe and co. tried to bring about some time ago, again, in the chaotic days after the Electroclash bubble burst. Here you have him wobblying up Future Forward's excellent collaboration with John Simmons, Welcome 2 Chicago, out in Kompute records. The synthetic heart pumps strong in this gem, and blasts us away with the scorching energy of old skool chi-town black warehouse disco, jack and be damned you meat covered skeletons.

PLASTIQUE DE LUX: FREAKS OF LOVE (MENTAL GROOVE)
Turbo's Plastic De Reve and Luluxpo team up on the Mental Groove imprint with this killer slice of retro space disko 'Freak Of Love'. Powered by infectious electro house drums, deep rolling b-lines and retro synth touches and sampled drops this cut takes you back to the days of packed dancefloors from opening to close. Played by Miss Kittin, Playgroup and Morgan Geist.

The 7B tour with Cowboy Mark, John Player & Plastique de R..ve will be THE place to be if you still remember last year's Neon Loves Halloween with fond memories. Plastique, a.k.a. DJ Daze, can seriously bring the house down with his very own brand of hard-hitting acidic electro. He did so last year at the Overdose 4th anniversary party, so expect more of the same.

Big bottomed electro thrills from the mountains, in such a busy week it is imperative not to overlook this quality five tracker. Mental Groove's Crowdpleaser drop Crash Kiss which tweaks those MMM strings for us in the offices, burning track. Gino touches early acid for some sneaky mayhem, like a late eighties Ha..ienda classic, fully formed and up for it. Plastique de R..ve rough things up, very Skam, very DUB, absolute killer. Water Lily & St Plomb take a more lumpy, four four angle, still having it though on a mutant cut Soup Soup. Then Lary Pec wades in with more Donna inflections. Clubby as f*** and very boss indeed, the swiss are coming.

Flipside wartet mit zwei Neuinterpretationen des Electric Esemble-Klassikers "It happened then". J.Knoblich

Plastique De Reve : Rodeo Mecanique/It Happened Then (Gigolo 91)
Buona caccia.
