there's room for just one more species before the entire iron raindrop gyroscopes over like an exhausted metronome spinning away as it forgets what time was like back there where what is now obviously an ark seemed like a bewilderingly overstocked hardware store.  -12/2/09  the Independent

darknesses refresh themselves by walking in and out of each other, something they can only do when the sun crawls over the mountains wearied by your tranquilizer dart which you're running out of- in fact you're worried what the darknessess'll do once the sun's here for good, hoping that at worst they'll just turn into animals.  -12/2/09  the Independent

all the different species you've been condense into a skin soaring like a surfboard lancing through the lacunae between lives giving a false but real sense of immortality to this caramel taffy of "you" hardening all around you.  -12/1/09  Emo's

motes nudge-twirling you like infomercials raising the hair on your arms as the rest of you tries to decide which mote'll be your next world, so many motes flirting with you you wonder what their reward is if they manage to suck your soul in, lost in thought as they form patterns of pollination across your carcass just like you were a bee.  -11/30/09  Emo's

smart dance pop from Sweden makes it all look so easy- and Yukimi Nagano's lyrics are some of the best I've heard in a good while.

choosing which snowbank in which to screw a tunnel home the snail's suddenly faced with a starmap of tiny snowbanks dotting the night sky which he swore was sunny a second ago- fooled by wonder once again the snowbank he was about to behome freezes hard as a weapon against him as his shell grows another angry swirl.  -11/28/09  Mohawk

a splinter holy grail sails into view like it was there all along as the brain shoves back against the skull to give it room nudging the fudge-heavy flesh eyeballs into wondering what's going on up there, its question vaporizing like steam angels as the splinter massages nerves the eyes didn't know they had.  -11/27/09 Stubb's

an incredibly invigorating show that reminded me why I do what I do- I wish Austin audiences would start demanding encores tho.

enough forests, trees pajamaed with moss, pile up into enough pillowy pyramids they can relax into food banks so tiny creatures of the air in their raindrop planes don't have to struggle too hard when they land forming large lakes tarping over the forests, our most beautiful deserts a testament to when so many happy slumber parties blossomed in one place.  -11/24/09  Antone's

a whole breed of puppies eager to be whole act as a cushion as you press against the glass walls surrounding your kind- speeded  up for convenience your pressings sound like knocking to the kindly cactii cooling themselves on the other side who're able to convince the stiffer species to allow you outside so you can take those puppies out for a stroll.  -11/19/09  St. Edwards University

the show was outside under the trees- St Edwards is a beautiful old catholic school high on a hill overlooking Austin giving an LA effect at night. the band is a lovely pop band considering a move to Chicago of all places.

haunted by unseen cousins the walrii scurry trapped on the ocean floor grasping for doubloons in the mud, each piercing of its paw by shark teeth lying in wait prompting a howl that climbs like a rose on the trellis of its cousins' distant howls, howls holding the family together like a pianola pattern of holes whose unique elegance defines dainty doilies- -11/16/09 Mohawk

Grampall Jookabox shortened his name and got a band-they've got a great chemistry.

landscapes surfing your mushroom soup stay strong and nourishing as long as the pastures out your window stay pliable enough to allow another year to spear through piercing the air with thin radio towers commanding long-toothed badgers to come eat, the herds swathing the fields like toothpaste bright enough to surf the earthquakes as they come until you come to get your share. -11/13/09 the Parish
