Hello there,

Insanely huge apologies for those who attended the Lugz Coffee House show in Vancouver this past May 29th.

We ended up canceling the show a week before hand due to delayed travel/tour silliness.
However, if you did catch the Vancouver Railway Club show on the 28th of May, THANK YOU for coming.

If you were subjected to my disappearance, let me know. I will send you love and a new CD free of charge.

Current mood:  adventurous

This past August I was invited to a party in Toronto alongside my 74 year old boss, friend and hero- Mr. Richard Flohil.

It was to the house of  Justin Rutledge, a growing alt country singer songwriter who has been building steam across Canada since I began  university some four years back. I distinctly recall my freshman boyfriend posting Justin's show listings on his dorm room door- he's done marvellously since then.

As guests filtered in I was introduced to countless radio hosts, artists and producers- all of which I never would have met had it not been for this majestic invite. Smiling and chatting, I sheepishly wandered to and from the rooms and situated myself in what appeared to be a garage/jam spot. I plumped myself down on the nearest couch and was immediately handed a guitar by a man who's last name was Parker- very nice fella haha. Little did I know, this remodelled garage was no ordinary jam spot.  In fact it was the jam spot and the couch i had been dreaming of since my young Patsy Cline- LeAnn Rhymes singing marathons.

To my left was one of Canada's newest alt country stars, Corb Lund who  casually picked atop his mandolin beside me. To my right was producer, and artist, Daivd Baxter who has produced and toured with the likes of  Rutledge, Bob Snider, Blue Rodeo and Treasa Levasseur. Although these faces and names are familiar to me now- many of which Richard and I organize publicity for- or play with.

My fathers words from earlier that day quickly surfaced in my mind " Jadea, if those folks ask you to sing...you sing and play for them"...

So i played and I sang...and that my friends is why we have a new rough demo on our mysapce today. David Baxter is a wonderful and generous producer, friend and artist- he saw potential in me that night and vowed to help the band and I.

Please do enjoy this rough demo- we recorded it live off the floor last week, and would like to extend it to you as an early Christmas present.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and THANK YOU for your support. Good things are bound to come from this relationship.

Thanks to the lovely Tom Power of CBC Radio 2, we had our track "Back Down" played on 94.1 FM this past Saturday morning.

Side note, if you dont listen to the new 2,  pop in and check out some of the most diverse Canadian music. DONT settle for mainstream radio and their formulaic BLAH!!

Some of my favourite at the moment:
Treasa Levasseur "Stuck in Soulsville"
Paul Reddick "John Lennon in New Orleans"

On Aug. 18th we're having a huge show at a little venue called Cervejaria. It's located at the corner of College and Ossington. Not only is this a sweet ass full band show, but we'll have a cute little country-alt band called "delta' opening for us. Also for those of you who would like to say 'bon voyage' to our drummer, Mr. Bryan Jeffers, this show would be the perfect opportunity to grab your last cozy hug and possibly slices of delicious dairy queen cake! yay bryans cake!

The very next day we're playing at the Baldwin Street festival (Aug 19th) around 4pm. Stop by for ...whatever this festival is celebrating...ehhh

Anyways, bye!
