Championship Race Sunday November 29th 10am PST on NBC!
Corona, California (November 25, 2009) – The Championship Finale of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will air in High Definition on NBC this Sunday, November 29 at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. Pacific). The broadcast, the first of two televised events for the exciting short course off road racing series, features down to the wire championship races in the Unlimited 2, Unlimited 4 and Unlimited Lite Truck classes.
In a season long Unlimited Lite battle, the championship has come down to this, the final race of the season for Brian Deegan, Chris Brandt and Rob Naughton while Carl Renezeder chases the seemingly unattainable goal of a double championship in his Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 machines.
Hosts Bill Webber and Wally Dallenbach call the action with action sports personality Cameron Steele providing in-depth analysis of the final round of the season held at the Primm Valley Motorsports Complex in Primm, Nevada.
The Primm facility, located just outside of Las Vegas and known for its high flying jumps and challenging rhythm section, provides the perfect setting for the door banging, extreme motorsports action that is the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.
As the first of two NBC broadcasts, the season finale sets the table for the broadcast of the Rockstar Energy/Lucas Oil Challenge Cup – a stand-alone event that will mark the conclusion of the 2009 short-course off-road racing season. Set for Dec. 11-12, at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex in Southern California, the Rockstar Energy/ Lucas Oil Challenge Cup is a winner-take-all shootout in which winners in all classes will take home a beautiful trophy, a generous check and off-season bragging rights. It will be broadcast on NBC on Saturday, Jan. 2 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Corona, Ca (November 16th) - It takes Hard work, Determination and Heart to win a championship, three things, which Brian Deegan displayed this year at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Last weekend was the final stop of the series and proved to be one of the most exciting race weekends of the season. The much-anticipated event took place back where it began in Primm, NV. Apparently what happens in Nevada doesn’t stay in Nevada. In April, the series launched its first event at the Primm Valley Motorsports Complex in Primm, NV. Deegan a rookie at the time was determined to prove that he had what it took to win a championship in a sport that was dominated by racers with years of experience in Short Course Off Road Racing. After battling through the weekend, Deegan ended up walking away with a 3rd place finish and a realization that with a little hard work, he could beat the top competitors in the sport.
“The first race was an eye opener when I realized that I have a shot at battling for the number one spot in the series. I knew it was going to be an exciting year!”
Deegan continued to dominate through the series, weekend after weekend, month after month. One of the most exciting and emotional times for Deegan came to fruition in his hometown of Lake Elsinore, Ca.
“Elsinore was my first taste of blood. Leaving that race I knew what I needed to do to continue winning through the rest of the series. Out of all my career accomplishments that win was in my Top 5. Compared to my first Supercross win and landing the first 360 on a dirt bike it was definitely an emotional moment”
Throughout the season Deegan had his share of domination and defeat, but through it all he remained focused on winning a championship. Deriving from his early beginnings as a Freestyle Motocross Rider, Deegan pushed himself to the limits and lived life on the edge, but as with everything it came at a heavy price. After almost dying three separate times, Deegan knows firsthand what it’s like to battle the toughest of battles. Coming into Primm, NV for the final stop of the series Deegan had managed to battle his way to 2ndin points, 9 points behind the leader Chris Brandt. This was it, either put it all on the line and walk away a champion, or get left in the dust and settle for a 2nd place finish. Deegan a racer at heart wasn’t going to settle for anything short of a championship.
Saturday’s Unlimited Lites main event proved to be an exciting one for both the fans and Brian Deegan. Pulling out all the stops, Deegan fought to the end and took 1st place putting him just inches away from the championship. With only 6 points separating Deegan from the leader Chris Brandt, both drivers could taste victory. Sunday’s race seemed at first a disappointment to Deegan locking down a 2nd place finish which would’ve put him 2nd in points behind Chris Brandt, but later turned out to be the sweet taste of victory. When all was through and the dust had settled, the top 3 trucks were impounded for a mandatory tech inspection. The results came back and the tech officials determined that due to an illegal truck modification of an elongated wheel base, Chris Brandt’s truck was disqualified from the race, giving Brian Deegan enough points to win the Unlimited Lites Championship of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series!
“I would’ve liked to win the championship by battling it out on the track. I came to race a professional series that followed the rules they put in place and I think the officials and Lucas Oil made a statement this weekend. In the end I’m stoked to win the championship. For me this win wasn’t about this moment, it was about every race this year; the team, friends, family and everyone who helped me win the championship. In the end, it feels good to win the championship!”
Deegan would like to give BIG THANKS to:

Deegan and the
Rockstar/Metal Mulisha/Lucas Oil Race Team Lock Down 4 More Podium Finishes!
Corona, Ca – Founder of Metal Mulisha and FMX Icon Brian
Deegan is making his mark in Short Course Off Road Racing. Last weekend Deegan
made his way out to Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, AZ for Rounds 9 &
10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Determined to win a championship,
Deegan set the pace on Saturday knocking out Short Course Champion Rob Naughton
and taking home the 1st place podium with his teammate and 2008
Pro-Lite Rookie of the Year Todd Cuffaro locking down a 2nd Place
finish. On Sunday both Deegan and Cuffaro put on the gloves and battled their
way through the pack to take home two more podium finishes for the
Rockstar/Metal Mulisha/Lucas Oil race team.
This year has been an incredible year for the Rockstar/Metal
Mulisha/Lucas Oil race team. For Deegan it has been an emotional year both on
the course and off the course. In a recent interview by Dirt Sports Magazine
Deegan compared his first win in his hometown of Lake Elsinore, Ca to that of
his first win in Supercross that launched his career.
He went on to say:
“I don’t want to be
one of those guys that got in this sport and didn’t perform. I’ve been a racer
all my life, and I’m a racer way before I am a freestyler”
As for Deegan, he has proven himself in the world of
Freestyle Motocross and has now made the transition to becoming one of the top
competitors and a force to be reckoned with in Short Course Off Road Racing.
Deegan’s days of FMX are far from over, he still practices everyday in his
backyard and supports the progression of the sport with his involvement in the
AFMXA. As the sport of Short Course Off Road Racing continues to progress and
draw crowds, you can expect to see Deegan out front dominating the competition.

Deegan Wins Over the Hometown Fans In Crandon, WI for Another Podium Finish! Corona, Ca (September 9th, 2009) - Determined, Focused, and Relentless are three words that describe FMX Icon Brian Deegan. 40,000 fans turned out for the biggest Off-Road short course race of the season and Deegan wasn’t about to head home without another podium under his belt. Thursday evening into the early morning hours, Deegan and the crew worked tirelessly to prepare his truck for battle in Friday’s Pro-Lite Cup Race. At the start of the race Deegan pulled the hole shot and held on for an early lead. Deegan’s lead was cut short when a three-way battle took Deegan to the outside colliding into the start/finish pylon to end the race for Deegan on the first lap. The crew once again worked through the night to repair the damage before the weekend’s big race. Saturday’s race proved to be yet another disappointment for the “General” when his truck started having problems causing Deegan to pull off the track early. Realizing his was down but not out, Deegan took time to gather his thoughts before heading back out for Sunday’s race. As with everything, give Deegan a battle and he’s not going down without a fight. On Sunday cameras were rolling and Deegan was on the big stage of ABC. After a disappointing first and second round Deegan wasn’t letting it get the best of him. Rested and re-focused Deegan put on the show for the hometown fans battling his way to the top four from eight place he could taste the victory. Deegan persisted all the way to the end and on the last turn of the final lap, Deegan saw an opportunity on the outside to pass driver Casey Currie and advanced to 3rd place just in time for the checkered flag! This was Deegan’s first podium finish in the TORC Series and an impressive one at that. If you missed last weekends racing action, you can tune in to ESPN 2 September 9th at 10:30pm PST to catch the highlights from Crandon International Off-Road Raceways 40th Anniversary weekend event. You can see more racing action from Brian Deegan in October when he battles for the championship in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. With only two more races left in the series, Deegan sits in the top 3 in point standings. Hailie Deegan Dominates the
Competition in Her First Off Road Race!
August 24th 2009 (Corona, Ca) – Another win for
the Deegans, however, this time its not Brian Deegan on the podium, it was his
8 year old daughter Hailie Deegan! Last weekend Hailie Deegan competed in the
Junior Kart Class in Mickey Thompson Tires/Kal Gard Lubricant SXS Stadium
Series. Competing in the #138 Trophy Kart, this was Hailie’s first race and she
dominated the competition taking home first place against other seasoned
drivers in her class! Hailie’s been practicing alongside her dad day in and day
out for her debut last weekend. As Dad Brian Deegan sat and watched from the
grandstands, it was a proud moment to see his daughter’s hard work pay off and
watch her carry on the Deegan Legacy. Battling all the way to the checkered
flag, it was nothing but smiles all around for the Deegan family.

Hailie first became interested in Off-Road Short Course
Racing after watching her Dad dominate the sport in his class. Inspired by her
dad, she wanted to try her hand at racing in the Junior Class. Fellow Trophy
Kart racer’s Jeremy and Chad Winkler let Hailie borrow their Trophy Kart to see
if she still liked the sport after being behind the wheel. Dad Brian Deegan got
to work and built a short course track in his backyard complete with jumps and
whoops. Hailie took a liking to the sport and on her 8th birthday
was given her first Trophy Kart. Since then, she’s been hard at work practicing
everyday at the local track to prove that she has what it takes to win a podium
position. Following in the footsteps of her father, Hailie Deegan is looking
towards the future and has already made a mark in her short course career. Just
as her dad Brian Deegan has done in his professional career, you can expect to
see many more wins from Hailie Deegan!

Brian Deegan was invited to compete in the “Celebrity Race”
last weekend racing a Trophy Truck alongside fellow short course champions Kyle
Leduc and Cassie Curry. The three drivers showed their sportsmanship and gave
the fans an entertaining race to say the least. Deegan will be making his way
up to Crandon, WI in September to compete in the largest event in Short Course
Off-Road Racing. You can follow Deegan to Crandon, WI on twitter @mmgeneral.

FMX Icon Brian Deegan Takes Home Two More Podium
Finishes!
CORONA, CA (July 27th) – Race fans make their way
to Lake Elsinore, Ca for another sell out event at Rounds 7 & 8 of the
Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Freestyle Motocross Icon Brian Deegan was a
crowd favorite this weekend after winning Round 5 of the Series in his hometown
ahead of undefeated short course champion Robert Naughton. Deegan built a short
course track near his property to get some extra seat time to work out all the
kinks on his Ford Unlimited Lite truck. Focused on locking down a podium finish
once again, Deegan qualified 4th on Friday for the Rockstar/Metal
Mulisha/Lucas Oil race team, his teammate Todd Cuffaro qualified an impressive
1st.
At the start of Saturday’s main event, Deegan pinned it to
the front of the pack and found himself leading the entire race. On the last
turn of the last lap a minor error by Deegan costed him a 2nd place
finish; still an impressive podium position for someone who in his first year
with his newly formed Rockstar/Metal Mulisha/Lucas Oil race team is sitting in
the top 3 in point standings. Deegan’s teammate Todd Cuffaro was running in 3rd
place after the mandatory caution, but on turn 2 the dirt got the best of him
and Cuffaro ended up flipping out finishing 11th in the Unlimited
Lites Class.
Sunday’s race proved to be another exciting race for the
fans and crew of the Rockstar/Metal Mulisha/Lucas Oil race team. Deegan was out
front battling for 2nd position with Robert Naughton when the
pressure from Deegan proved to be too much for Naughton’s truck to handle.
Deegan blew past Naughton giving Brian another 2 place finish for
the weekend!
Teammate and 2008 Pro-Lite Rookie of the Year Todd Cuffaro
battled his way from the back of the pack to finish Round 8 with a 4th
place position.
