Current mood:  excited
Hey Folks, Dan here.

There is so much going on with us right now I am not sure where to start.

As much as it sucked to have Chris Dickey leave us I am excited and pleased to announce that his spot has been filled by the Hard hitting Chris "Panther" Olson, (formerly of Hell Yeah Fuck Yeah, and Notoriety).  His Drum style fits the music perfectly and we sound as tight and  furious as ever.

I am also happy to announce Jer Von Duck (from Turbo A.C.s) on Rhythm Guitar. Jers playing fattens up our sound and adds a new energy and dimension to our music while keeping the same raw style we have all become used to.

The audition process for Chris and Jer was the same tried and tested method I used when Richie Bones joined the band.   When I met Richie we Got drunk and painted the town, He was in before we jammed together.  The same went for Jer Von Duck, we met him after a gig in Toronto, we got waisted and hit it off right away. We met Panther through a mutual friend and about 6 shots of Jack Daniels and 4 beers a peice later he was our new Drummer.  Like someone once told me a long time ago, you can always learn the songs, but being on the same page and getting along with someone on that level isn't something you can learn, and in some ways it's more important.  But at the same time, These guys can really Rock n Roll.

We finished the video For Punk Rock Girl.  It looks great.  The director,Eric Fenato, did an incredible job. The shoot itself was a great party. Shot at the Bovine Sex club, It was a full day of Drinking, Debauchery, and rock n roll, and it shows in the video.  Watching the video was almost as fun as being there.....almost. Some of the x rated footage didn't make it into the final cut. But we have all the takes and may release the unedited footage at a later date.  We will be having a video release party June 16th, which is also my birthday, at the Bovine Sex Club, What better place to view it than the scene of the crime?.

We are also writing new Material getting geared up for a second album.  No time frame yet but you can count on hearing something new in the near future.

Stay tuned for more news soon, Hope to see you on tour.

Cheers
Dan Lobalsamo

Hello Everyone,
This is something I never thought I'd have to write. Hell, this is something that I'm not sure how to write. How do I tell all of the friends I've made, people that dig Rehab For Quitters, and most of all my bandmates that I have to say goodbye? I've never been a fan of long, drawn out speeches, but I think something like this deserves one.

Due to unavoidable personal circumstances, May 1st at The Kathedral was my last show with Rehab For Quitters.

It took me a long time to reach this decision, and believe me this was the last thing I wanted to do. I believe that Rehab For Quitters is heading for the top, and unfortunately at this point in time I can't go where they are going. Also, this is the "right" time for me to pack it in. As much as I hate leaving, I'd never forgive myself if I held Rehab For Quitters back from any opportunity that came their way. I want to see these guys succeed no matter what, and if their success means I have to grab some pine and sit on the sidelines, then so be it.

I have been unbelievably fortunate over the past year to play with guys like Dan and Richie. They are two of the most hard working, musically gifted yet humble guys I've ever met. I couldn't have asked for better bandmates, and I couldn't have wished for better friends. I sincerely wish the best for both of you and whoever you find to fill my shoes, and I know that you'll take Rehab as far as you can. This has been the best year of my life, and none of it would have been possible without you two. For that, I thank you.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every single person who ever came to a Rehab for Quitters show in the past year. I've met so many people while playing for Rehab its impossible to mention them all, but if you're reading this, know that I thank you for coming out and supporting the band.

For those of you screaming "What about Rehab?!" don't worry. The guys have been auditioning drummers for a little while, and I know they'll find a very talented guy pretty soon to take over on the skins. Also, for the three of you saying "What about Dickey?" don't worry about that either. I'll be back with something soon. I need a little time to get my head on straight, but I'll be back behind a kit before you know it.

I suppose there's nothing left to say but good luck to Rehab, and again, thanks to everybody.

For everything.

Take Care,
Dickey

Rehab For Quitters
Ladies And Gentlemen…
By Keith Carman

Six years into the fray, Toronto's Rehab For Quitters release debut effort Ladies And Gentlemen…,a hyperactive shot of punk-influenced rock'n'roll. Somewhat partial tothe upswing of psychobilly over the past few years, many of these songsfeature the swagger and hooting vocal delivery made popular by theMisfits and continually mined by the likes of Mad Sin and Tiger Army. Thanks to RFQ's four-chord simplicity and occasional low-key balladsthough, these bouts translate into something appealingly unique, resulting in a creepy Rancid-meets-the Creepshow atmosphere. Whilethere is still some room for the band to refine the approach byembracing their brash tendencies and surpassing their clear-cut muses,as far as introductory albums go, Ladies And Gentlemen… is solid. Current mood:  amused
Ladies and Gentlemen,

Check out this excerpt from a review of our recent show at the Phoenix.

...Rehab For Quitters kickedthis lame-ass donkey of a night square in the balls; finally raisinglevels of interest, attention and life amongst the crowd. From thefirst song, Slicked Back Hair, this trio of rather large guysfrom Toronto delivered the kind of punk rock 'n roll I expected to hearat a Misfits gig. RFQ's set of simple and fast punk songs managed to revive whathad been a pretty dead atmosphere.

Isoon realised that I'd seen Rehab For Quitters before, sometime back in2007 in Toronto. Their name was familiar to me, and I recognised thefrontman Dan Lobalsamo. RFQ's line-up has changed since I first sawthem, and the changes seem to have been for the better. There's nothingparticularly clever or inspired about these guys, but the band are nottrying to break any moulds - it's simple and fast punk rock, and don'tforget the roll. Lobalsamo croons out lyrics that you can easilyshout-a-long to, even if it's the first time you've heard the song...

Hey Folks.
First of all, we wanted to thank everyone for supporting us at our north by north east showcase at the Annex Wreck Room Last Friday. We had a great time.  We made some great new friends including the super awsome guys from the Madcowboys. Those guys kicked some ass, we hope to play with them sometime again soon.

Thanks Again to all those who came out and made it a memorable night.
