It seems the new myspace player will not allow users to download tracks from it so here is a direct link to the R U Stoopid!?! beat.

Well, it's been a long time coming but I'm glad to say the day is finally here when I can say R U Stoopid!?! is ready to view.

This is a promo video for now featuring myself and LeeN (in my top friends)

I will be putting up a promotion version of the track with an empty third verse, if you would like to record your own version simply download the track, write, record and send it back to me at areyou_stoopid@yahoo.co.uk

I love this video and I hope you'll love it to, what I'd like to see is this being shared all over the place, it's meant to be enjoyed and laughed at, and trust me I had plenty plenty laughs whilst putting this together.

So I now present to you

So as you may or may not know I was on Tim Westwood's 1xtra show a couple weeks back (the full audio is in my myspace player)

Here is the video from that day, it was definitely an amazing experience, so thanks to Westwood for giving me the opportunity.

I'm also enjoying all the hate comments that are appearing on the youtube video, the way I see it, from when the comments stop being polite and encouraging then I know that I'm being heard by people who don't know me and who have never heard of me before.

Whether you love it or hate it, you now know who I am

It's been a while since I've posted a new blog so I thought I would do three at once.

So firstly after months of hard work from Joseph Peccia of Sirocco Media (www.siroccomedia.co.uk) and months of me watching him do that hard work the video is finally finished.

Firstly as it was a low budget video and a percentage of the profits would be going to Love Music Hate Racism we had to be very creative with our resources, I won't say how much it cost but for the price I am very very pleased.

On the day we had three cameras working at the same time, first time I've worked in this way and I have to say it was a lot easier, it sped things up considerably and as this is my first HD Quality video I am happy to see that it looks the business as well.

Anyway the track is available to download from itunes

Look Out There's a Black Man Coming (Rock Mix)

and as I said we will be donating a percentage of the sales profit to Love Music Hate Racism.

I'd like to say a special thanks to the Dancers from Messy Jam Oxford, who made the video even more special, also to Oxford Brookes University Student Union who allowed us to use their venue, finally to Sirocco Media who put up with me for a good few months.

Here is the video, enjoy

Current mood:  anxious
Right well it's 9pm and apparently at some point between 10pm and 12am tonight the show that I filmed with Westwood is supposed to air.

Trouble is in my experience these things never go according to plan, so whilst I've spread the word to every forum and person who has time to listen I'm freaking out that it may not play tonight and I'll look like a bit of a prat.

Oh well, I'll be listening in, I'm really trying not to get my hopes up too much, I can't really even remember much about the show now so it'll be cool to hear what nonsense I was chatting.

If you get time tonight tune in at http://www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra/

Peace

I've been asked to perform at the O2 Academy in Oxford on the 7th of this month (details in my gig listings) and was given some advanced tickets to sell to anybody who wanted to come and see me perform.
I rarely have time to stop and think about hat I've done or how far I've come but this time it really hit me that I've done pretty well for myself.
Last year around this time I had a support slot at the Carling Academy Oxford and due to various reasons I struggled to shift all of the tickets I'd been allocated, don't get me wrong, people were interested but they wern't THAT interested in seeing me perform.
This year I sent out a message to my mailing list and got quite a few replies, one guy was kind enough to get 7 tickets off me and one guy lives in North London and is still willing to travel to come to see the show.
It's kind of nice to know that people want to see me, I guess with the video on Channel U (sorry Channel AKA) it's certainly raised my profile, plus my stint on Tim Westwood's show (which should be airing soon) would've probably helped as well.
This year I'm looking to lower the amount of shows I do perform in higher profile venues, I think that if I perform all the time and I'm too easily accessible it won't be as special when I do perform at high profile venues.

And we wouldn't want that now would we?
All in all I'm feeling very honoured by the people who have supported me thus far, it serves to remind me why I make music and I will be giving the best possible performance as a thank you.
Oh also I hope to launch the first products from my merchendise and clothing range on the night, so stay tuned.
Email me here on myspace if you'd like tickets (before the 7th of April)

Current mood:  tired
Just a quick blog, I'm not in the mood for a lot of writing.

I found out late last week that I will be on Westwood's 1xtra show, we are due to pre-record it tomorrow though I'm still unsure when the actual show will go out.

Still I'm incredibly excited, this is one of those once in a lifetime chances and I need to show just how good I am. I plan to do an exclusive live performance of my new song Are You Stoopid?!

And I spent the day working on ANOTHER new song which, if I can memorise will also be getting performed

Right now I'm just trying to prepare myself mentally, there's still so much to do and as I'll be coming down from Oxford I really don't want to be late for my appointment.

Anyway, as soon as I know when you can hear the broadcast, I'll let you know, I'll also try to keep updating this blog with shorter entries, may be that way I'll feel more like writing them when I'm tired (which seems to be a constant state at the moment!)

Wish me luck

P.S I'll be posting up a new track soon, as soon as I know the release dates for the single I'll put it up

Here's a short interview I did with Party Team TV whilst backstage at a gig I did last year supporting Chipmunk.

If you haven't already you can seen the Grime Music Video on my myspace page and Channel U Sky Channel 370. You can call in to see it on this freephone number 0800 612 2467 and when prompted key in the video short code 3700.

It's free from a landline so all the more reason to do it.

God only knew how my life would turn out, trust me I had absolutely no interest in music when I was younger, now I can't get enough of it.

As the rapper known as Mr ShaoDow has grown and developed so to have some of my habits, traits and characteristics.

So here they are (not all of them are meant to be serious)

I know I'm a Rapper because...

My idea of a good Christmas is writing a new lyric

I have at least 3 different pens in my pocket just in case I need to write down a lyric

I have seriously considered sleeping in a studio

My idea of a good present would be a mic

I get angry if I hear bad rapping

I start randomly freestyling over TV advert music

I get excited if I find a new pen

I will and do wake up in the middle of the night to write down punch lines and ideas for songs.

I don't drink or smoke but I get 'high' just being on a stage

If you leave your pen lying around I will steal it

I know that I like a song if I find myself wishing I had rapped on it

If you are in any way involved with the music industry, I will harass you relentlessly until you help me

I walk into shops and freestyle to the background music

If we have not spoken about me being a rapper within 10 minutes of meeting I will find an unsubtle way of including it

I often write new songs on public transport and look crazy when I try to practice them to myself

The only time I go out socially is when I am performing somewhere

I will freestyle to music playing in passing cars

If you let your guard down around me I will sell you a CD

I have dreams about writing new songs

I will spend months on one lyric

If you leave me alone in your house for too long I will write lyrics on your walls

I will freestyle to elevator music

I cannot appreciate a good instrumental without thinking of a way to rap on it

I have an uncontrollable Music Video Addiction

My songs are like my children

Actually I suppose this is more of a list to prove I have mental problems....

Current mood:  accomplished

Man I suck, can you believe I've been meaning to write this blog from before the new year, it is now the 5th. I find it difficult to find time and energy, too much going on. Still who am I to complain I love it really...

Anyway I hope all of you had a good Christmas and New Year I wrote a lyric and played way too many video games but that's my idea of relaxing, I definitely needed a recharge, I like to go full throttle and often I don't realise how draining it is until I've stopped to take a break.

So anyway we're now in 2009, not that that really means much to me, it's cold and there's snow on the road, and it's cold .. and it's cold and that really what I'm focusing on at the moment.

Still 2008 was a very good year for me and one of my problems is that I'm so focused on what I need to do next that I rarely stop and think about what it is I have done.

So here it is a list of my 2008 achievements (well the ones I can remember) so naturally in no particular order.

Travelled over to France to headline a show

Filmed 2 new music videos (one which hasn't been seen yet)

Have made personal appearances on three different TV Channels

Finally had my first music video played on TV and had my newest video shown on Channel U

At the end of 2008 the Grime music video had racked up in excess of 10,000 plays.

Met plenty of interesting people including Gammo Speng from Choice FM, Tim Westwood, So Solid Crew's DJ Little Charlie and plenty of people whilst selling CD's

Worked with some very talented artists including Asher Dust, Offkey, Irn Mnky, Monsieur Greg, Baby Gravy, Smilex and plenty more I'm sure

Sold A LOT of Cd's on the streets not sure how many though but it helped me pay for the Grime music video.

Released my first single and it was named 15th in the Oxfordshire top twenty list.

Been played on Radio stations including Choice FM, Ujima FM, BBC Radio Oxford, Phat Beats, Rinse FM

I had my own column in a quarterly music magazine

Done plenty of performances including, The NEC in Birmingham, The Forum in Kentish Town, The Carling Academy in Oxford, Truck Fest.

I've also supported artists such as Akala, Chipmunk and 112

I also finished my Law and Business degree which I have been studying for 3 and a half years.

Oh I've written a few new songs too, including That's MR ShaoDow, I finished Grime in 2008, Don't Stop and made plans for a few future hits such as Are You Stoopid?

Finally I've recieved a lot more support from people this year and that has really given me the strength to push forward with my music

I'm sure there's more but I can't remember, still, it's not bad for a year, the key is to improve on what I've did.

My main focal points for 09 will be writing a lot more lyrics just to improve on my style and get better as an artist.

I'll also be working with a lot more artists, I have put together two new tracks with two different rock bands which you should be hearing at some point this year.

I'll be looking for a lot more high calibre performances as well as filming a few more music videos.

You should see me out on the streets selling CD's  now that I have a bit more free time, essentially I'll be looking to get my name out there a lot more.

I will be releasing a new single to help raise money for the charity Love Music Hate Racism and ultimately I will be working towards releasing my debut album.

Wow, lot's of stuff I guess I'll also be working on my Freestyle as well as it's always nice to spit random rhymes off the top of my head.

I'll also be updating my myspace (FINALLY!!) and trying to add to my blog more regularly.

So here's to 09 I hope it brings you sucess. But don't forget, it doesn't come easy, often you have to go out there, grab sucess by the short and curlies and lock it in a cupboard until it stops crying.

Peace

Current mood:  quiet

Not everybody knows that as well as being an up and coming Rapper I am also an up and coming student and as of last Monday I finished the final exam needed for my Law and Business degree.

So after 3 and a half years I am a graduate, hmmm I don't really feel any different. Oh well.

I would've written this sooner but since then I have been out on the streets selling CD's, I have already hit Oxford, Reading and Southampton.

It's really weird but some people have recognised me due to my music video being on Channel U, which is nice and certainly makes selling CD's just that little bit easier.

In truth I'm kinda winding down for the year and thinking of my next moves for 09. I'll have a new release for January and hope to film a few more music videos.

Mostly I'll be working on raising my profile, its all well and good making music but I want people to hear it, so I need to get my name out in to the world and really get more people hearing about me.

On Tuesday 23rd December I'll be live on http://www.phatbeats.co.uk/garage_studio/ an internet based radio station with So Solid Crew's DJ Little Charlie.

I'll be there from 9pm and it should be lots of fun, so tune in if you get a chance.

Current mood:  happy

I can't tell you the disappointment I felt when Look Out There's A Black Man Coming (my first video) was rejected by Channel U as apparently it was offensive.

I know it shouldn't have but it really set me back musically, see up till then I was deluding myself into thinking things would be smooth sailing. Make a track, film a video, get it on Channel U then everybody loves me and wants to hear more of my music.

Sorry cuz, it don't work like that, looking back I'm very glad for the rejection, I was forced to pick myself up, write stronger songs, improve myself as an artist and look for other ways to get seen and heard. And a year on I'm in a much better position because of it.

So the last time you heard from me 'Grime' was on Channel U's UTELLUS show and was in desperate need of some votes, well firstly thank you to everyone who did vote because not only did it win the show but came out with 30% of the total votes (the closest recieved 14%) so hopefully some one out there really likes my music.

So finally I get a video on Channel U, it's weird because of the initial rejection I was all the more determined to get my video on there and show what I can do, I'm not expecting miracles I'm just hoping that people see it, like it and come find out more about me.

It will be aired on the main playlist, known as Streets, Grime and Life and to see it you just need to text 3700 to 81700 whilst watching the show. You can also vote for free on Fridays.

Anyway things seem to be going well for me at the moment so I definitely got to give a big shout out to God for making this possible and once again a thank you to everyone who has been supporting me.

This is by no means the end more of the beginning of greater things.

ShaoDow
