Hi there,

Well we have been given the awesome opportunity of being involved in the first JD Set of this year. This is a huge campaign run by Jack Daniel's where 6 up and coming bands from around the country are hand picked to be involved. All 6 go on the website (which is a brilliant site by the way) and the top 2 bands after 2 weeks of voting go on a National Tour Supporting You Am I!!!

We are really excited about this prospect but to get there we need your help!

Those who helped us so diligently in the Uncharted competition will be relieved to hear that you just have to vote once a day! Very easy. It takes about 2 minutes to sign up (no need to put your phone number, just email address and name etc, and I promise you won't receive spam from them of any kind!) and after that each vote takes no more than 2 or 3 clicks each day, 30 seconds tops!

Here's the site:

www.thejdset.com.au

The site hasn't been updated with the new bands info yet, but it will be by Midnight Sunday April 5th (this Sunday!!!!) so THIS COMING MONDAY MORNING - THE 6TH we'll be off and racing. When you get on the site you'll see our link, click on us and then click "Vote". It'll tell you if it worked or not.

Please try and get as many people that you know (family, work people, people at bus stops, in the movies, on planes, at weddings etc) to vote if you can :)

This would really be a big thing for the band so if you can all spare 30 seconds each day to help us hit the road we will collectively love you FOREVER!!!!!!!

Thanks so much guys!!!

Hey there Crazy Ceiling Fans! We've announced our tour dates for the Reparations Tour, which is in support of the release of our debut EP titled, funnily enough, "Reparations". The east coast dates are: Rapid Festival: Saturday Oct 4th - Brisbane Cambridge Hotel: Wednesday Nov 5th - Newcastle The Ed Castle: Saturday Nov 8th - Adelaide Sonar (Luna Park): Saturday Nov 15th - Sydney Wollongong Tavern: Friday Dec 5th - Wollongong For Sydney-siders there will be one more local gig for the year at Luna Parks Sonar. Check out the details below and hopefully we'll be able to see you one last time before we head back into the studio in January! See you soon! TGC

It's a cloudy afternoon in Alexandria. It's a brisk 15 degrees outside and ideal weather for a warm cup of coffee. We've sent James on the hunt for just that and whether he'll ever return is yet to be seen. The rest of the band are lounging around 301 studios watching the very sexy Tim Carr work his magic with our debut EP. This is our third stint in the studio in four weeks and no one looks like cracking yet.

Since our brush with Uncharted fame (or lack of) we've been working hard to back up our debut single with an EP. We've played the odd show, Lawn Party Festival, even traveled to Wagga Wagga but all in all The Glass Ceiling have been keeping a low profile. Well, not for long. We hope to have something tangible by August this year and back it up with a mini tour soon after that.

Till then we have our gig with Grinspoon to look forward to and a number of other shows in Sydney.

We'll keep you posted

Cheers

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to let everyone know....

WE’RE GOING TO PLAYING LIVE ON MTV!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to your voting and support we were the top band in our pool, and out of the 2000 bands that entered the comp nation wide we are in the top 2!!!!

MTV will be doing a half hour program on us and the other band that will run a few times on air, as well as regular ads asking people to vote, ads in drum, brag etc, radio ads and a whole bunch of other cool stuff before we play at the Grand Final on April 1st (which is also televised on MTV) where we find out who has won the recording contract with Sony BMG.

Sorry it has been a few days before I let you all know what happened, but soon after we found out we were in the GF we were taken into the studios by MTV to begin recording for the promo, which included playing acoustically, heaps and heaps of interviews, being recorded playing a few live tracks, styling session/make up/photo session (with world famous photographer TONY MOTT) all with the cameras rolling!!!

We are knackered, but pumped for the Grand Final in a couple of weeks. Please keep voting if you can guys. I’ve asked so much of you all already and I just wanted to say thanks you so much, I owe all of you a huge debit. Your support means everything to us!

Thursday last week saw The Glass Ceiling enter the mighty Damien Gerard studios in Balmain. We emerged some three days later, blurring eyed and smelling of stale smoke. Thankfully we were not empty handed, with 5 tracks destined for our forth coming debut EP. With much of the recording being completed at two home studios, the majority of time was spent mixing. Mastering is likely to be completed this month and art work is currently being debated. Resisting the temptation to self title the EP, it will instead be called "My Private Cinema."

An EP launch is presently being discussed, so check our Myspace for details.

Playing live has always been the thing that I love most about music. There's a nervous excitement that can't really be achieved or explored in any other way. And no matter what you have pent up inside of you, whether it be love, anger, sadness or jubilation, channeling that energy into your finger tips and letting the whole world know exactly how you feel without saying a word is a priceless experience.

When that on-going experience came to an abrupt end two tears ago due to my previous band coming to an unexpected dissolution, it felt like a part of me had been amputated. But I finally got a taste of that drug that I had gone cold turkey on this week when The Glass Ceiling had their first gig. Now, I'm not going to try and romanticize the night for you. I'm not going to try and hype up that it was a Thursday night in Tempe (the longest 20 minutes out of Sydney you could ever experience), or that and it was in front of no more than twenty people. But I will share the how good it felt to play these songs in front of an audience, whose hearts were bigger than their numbers gave them credit for.

I won't go into the details of the show, but I can say that we were really happy with it. You only evr get one first gig as a band, and the feeling of playing these songs that we care about so much for the first time with my closest friends is a feeling and an honor that I'll never, ever take for granted.

We have a few more gigs in the near future, we've almost completed our first EP and life is good.
