Hi!

Just a quick note to let everybody know that the last North American shows of our Alpinisms tour start next week.  These will be our first real headlining shows in the US outside of NYC.  We'll be playing some new songs from the record we've been busy making, so these shows will be the first chance to hear our new music.  We're excited...

We're lucky to have Depreciation Guild, Phantogram, and Warpaint join us for many of the dates.  They ended up joining us for these shows at the last minute, so there may be a chance they won't be listed in your town.

Also, one of our favorite new bands, The xx, will be joining us (along with First Aid Kit) for our final show of the tour at Webster Hall.  We had the pleasure of playing with them at our South Street Seaport show in August, and are glad to have them join us again in our home town.

Check them out here:

We're looking forward to seeing everyone again,

hi!
not sure if anybody noticed, but we've started to keep a tour diary over at www.sviib.com
(or www.schoolofsevenbells.com). we're posting a few pictures here and there, too.
seeing as though we're playing an obscene amount of shows between now and the summer, it only makes sense to document it a bit, and to let everybody know how things are looking from our perspective.
thanks to everybody who's been out to see us!

love from bristol,

Benjamin

This is amazing!

excerpt from L.A. Times online SXSW coverage:
"The line was far too long to get in, but my vista on the sidewalk was excellent as Alejandra and Claudia Deheza busted subtle synchronized dance moves that complemented their sisterly harmonies, and Benjamin Curtis, on keyboards, led an expanded touring band through songs better suited to the moonlight than to a sunny afternoon. Still, it was a lovely little moment. But thousands of other bands awaited. I had to move on!"

Wish we could've seen that show...

....everybody that's been out to see us so far in Europe. The shows have been amazing, and seeing you all has made this ridiculously long tour a pleasure so far. If we haven't been to your city yet, but are on our route, see you soon!

Hi!
If you're thinking of coming out to our last minute show on Feb. 17th at Le Poisson Rouge in Manhattan, we wanted to let you know that the 12" LP version of Alpinisms will be available for sale at the venue that evening.
This will be the first chance to pick up the record at one of our shows here at home, so come by if you can!

Alpinisms is pressed on 180 mg vinyl, in a beautiful gatefold sleeve design by Bryan Collins.
A CD version of Alpinisms is also included in the packaging.

Doors open at 10pm, and we'll be on shortly after. See you there!

Christian Bordal at NPR's 'Day To Day' recorded an interesting interview with us while we were in LA. A lot of ground was covered, we were compared to Gentle Giant (!), and A & C even sang a verse from Connjur a cappella! It was a strange one, for sure.

Stereogum started a new show called DECOMPOSED, that features bands doing stripped-down versions of their songs.
They asked us to take part in the debut episode, and we were more than happy to oblige. We performed Iamundernodisguise, Caldo, and Connjur, and we think they did a great job capturing the moment.
