Just a little over 6 weeks to go until 2010! Can you believe it? I can't. Seems like every year time somehow magically moves faster and faster. The wheel of time turns and the wheel weaves as the wheel wills. Last night at Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena I had the opportunity to meet the fantasy author Brandon Sanderson and have him sign The Gathering Storm, book 12 of the Robert Jordan series The Wheel Of Time. I'm only on book 8 right now, so I have 3 more books to go! The original author Robert Jordan passed away last year and his wife Harriet chose Brandon to finish his last book - which will actually be a trilogy. You might think this is cheesy, but my boyfriend and I read the books out loud. It's so much fun playing the different characters of the series, each lovable in their own way. Among some of the main characters that I voice are Egwene, Mat, Nyneave and Min. I don't know who I could play if this was ever turned into a series, but I'm told there is a character in later books that I could do, so I can't wait to be introduced to her. Among other fantasy authors I read are George R. R. Martin, whose series Song of Ice and Fire is being made into an HBO series and Patrick Rothfuss. I love the worlds they create. My only advice to them, haha, would be to create more characters that I can play because it's always a struggle to find someone who looks like me in their worlds and if I do find someone, they are most often foreigners or islanders and not main characters.;)

So I just booked an indie film called Cream Soda that shoots next week. It's a fun comedic film that I'm excited to be a part of. I get to play a character named Ashley who can be very emotional and aggressive. One of the things I love about this character is that I get to use what I like to call my Jennifer Tilly voice. You can hear me doing the voice in the videos section if you check out "Doritos Fairy". And if you haven't seen or heard of the actress Jennifer Tilly, you should watch Let It Ride, a film about horse racing which she stars in along with Richard Dreyfuss - funny film! BTW I absolutely love cream soda. I haven't had it in awhile b/c for the most part I try to stay away from soda, but it is DELICIOUS. So back to the movie. We have a table read today and then it shoots next week.:)
On another note. I just got a Nikon D90 camera and will hopefully be taking pics soon. Expect some new ones up on the website soon.
Off to make my usual Saturday brunch! Pancakes, eggs and coffee. mmmmmmm
PS: Follow me on www.twitter.com/kimberlywoods and check out the updates to my website www.kimberlywoods.net
Have a blessed weekend!
Peace and blessings, Kimberly

Here's the second episode of the Sav & Kat Jump Off series! Things have been a little busy for me lately juggling this project with my other acting stuff and I am really thankful for all that is going on. Within the last week, I signed with a new commercial agent and a new theatrical agent and I am so happy. I feel like the agents totally get me and they're excited to be representing me so I thank God for that because I really feel blessed. Back to the Sav & Kat! If you haven't subscribed on youtube yet, please do so: http://www.youtube.com/savandkat and also if you haven't joined our myspace page yet it's: http://www.myspace.com/savandkat . I hope you enjoy the second episode. This project is a labor of love. It's low budget, but it's done from the heart. I am involved in the writing, producing and acting of it along with some wonderful people - Laura May, Voltaire Sterling (from The Great Debaters) and Andrew Jordan. Special Thanks to Spaceman (www.myspace.com/superspaceman321) for providing the closing song. If any of you music artists out there would like to submit a song for consideration for future episodes- send me a message! Hope you enjoy the show: PLEASE CLICK THE HQ BUTTON TO VIEW IN HIGH QUALITY (located on the bottom of the video after you hit play) peace and love, Kimberly

For all my myspace party friends,
There isn't anything wrong with having a good time, but please don't drink and drive. If you're in a group and you're drinking always make sure there is a designated driver. If you've had several drinks and aren't sure if you can drive, then don't. There is no shame in calling a friend to come pick you up. Living in LA, there are so many people who get DUIs or get into accidents because instead of letting someone else take the keys from them, they chose to drive.
If you're in a group where everyone is going to have a drink, then another fun safe alternative that I just came across is http://www.888funhopz.com for LA locals. Basically, it's a bar hopping party bus. You and your friends are free to drink and the bus will drive you from place to place. You don't have to worry about finding a parking spot near the club or paying an arm and a leg for valet. You don't have to worry that the designated driver might actually decide to have a drink and you can be SAFE. The number is 1-888-Fun-Hopz and I think they are doing a great thing by offering this safe alternative to driving to the clubs or bars so I just wanted to make you guys aware of the options that are out there. Stay safe everyone. Love you all :)
